Bit of a clunky interface but it is something that nothing else does.

These were the top casual game before Luxor came along.

Great for anyone reminiscing of the Atari days...

Classic game, everyone knows it, you either love it or hate it.

Good that they have an online mode, but it seems like there's not always many people there.

When it comes down to it, most Sudoku games are pretty much the same - they all generate random sudoku puzzles. What makes this one different? Nothing really. It has a few bells and whistles, sure, but it's still the same basic function.

This game is OK. It can sometimes be a bit long and boring though without a lot of challenge.

This is one I've been eyeing for a while. Great especially for sorting your downloads - filing them in the right folders, letting you know when you haven't opened downloads yet, adding your music straight to itunes, renaming, etc.

Of course, these are useful in a whole range of scenarios, not just your downloads and Hazel's rules can be run anywhere.

It can also identify unused or unnecessary files quickly and trash them.

The comparison to Yojimbo is probably not quite right. Yojimbo is more of a notes database/storage app (I use iNotePad for this and think it kicks Yojimbo's butt.)

This is more in line with the concept on Stickies - just quick notes that you just want to see when you need it.

This differentiation is necessary because while it is clear that there are better notes _databases_ around, Jotter is a better tool for the function it is designed for.

This is a power-user's Finder and FTP. Many of the features that are sorely missing in Finder are here. A nice interface too - you will realise how much more useful it is to have dual panes and tabs.

One other thing to think about: if you still can't afford this great app there is a free version called LiteLabel - of course it does have limitations compared to this (especially in terms of the flexibility of formatting) but still a great option if you have lighter needs.

This is a great piece of software, a perfect to make labels and covers for all types of media – intuitive interface and a whole lot packed in – usually a little pricey but not today :)

Great idea - it has always been a bit odd to have a remote sold with every mac but only have limited functionality with it.

So much easier than the dashboard calculator!

Always available when you need it. A keystroke to bring it up and then type in the calculations you need done (as opposed to the dashboard - keystroke, wait, use the mouse to make sure calculator is selected, then use the keyboard or mouse to type the calculation in).

It can also do a few more advanced calculations (trig, logs, square roots etc).

And it's free!

Overall:

A good start (v1) to the already crowded 'collection apps' market.

It is a step up from Delicious Library but a step down from Bruji's pedia apps (which I'm currently using).

Details:

Features:

A few features here that you would really appreciate if you had been using DL (which is sorely missing some of these) like smart collections, multiple ISBN entries and additional entry fields. However there are many missing features here that are present in the pedias and/or DL: iSight scanning, Full screen mode, wishlist, multiple collections, iTunes integration, statistics, multiple download sites (rather than depending on just Amazon) among others. There is the inclusion of a few additional categories not seen in others (Hardware and Software) which may be of interest to some (but for me it didn't make sense to have a listing of what was in my apps folder).

Interface:

Looks OK. But, the blue/white lines on the left panel annoy me a bit (I think mainly because they clash and don't line up with the ones on the right).

It was less intuitive than the competition (it was even hard to find out how to add an entry from amazon without the help files)

Price ($29.95):

Competitive compared to DL ($40) and Pedias ($18 for 1, $39 for 3) but it also depends what features you are after.

Stability:

Didn't crash at all. But did have some trouble doing the imports from Bruji

Summary / Outcome:

I'm sticking with Bruji's apps. Easier to use and more features.

If you were considering Librarian Pro against Delicious Library, I'd probably go with this just for the price and the smart collections, but you'd miss out on the iSight scanning.

Coming from Koingo Software, I'm sure this will improve with time and as such will definitely be one to keep an eye on.

This is not something that really interests me as I'm in Australia and can't even get an iPhone. Having iPhone specific software really excludes us.

Looks like a great concept - a puzzle game with a story - and looking around elsewhere on the web I can see that most with the full version are really enjoying this one. After trying the demo, I can see that the game looks great and has a good variety of puzzles. The only thing is that it seems like the puzzles are a bit on the easy side - maybe that is just the early part of the game though. It is probably more suited towards older children.

A bit limited at the moment.. i don't know if i am thinking beyond the scope of the program but it would be good if it could identify unused preference files ready to delete.

I don't understand how people are comparing this app to Delicious library (saying they like it better, etc).. it is a completely different function.

stdo.. where can you get a program with functionality for free. The competitors I'm aware of (Disk Library, Disk Tracker, CD Finder) cost $29 and up.

Has anyone done a comparison between this one and others like Disk Library and Disk Tracker? How does it compare? It's definitely the most affordable (especially with the discount).

Wow - this is quite a deal. The first was a classic of course and this followed it up nicely.
