CHATELP  I've been a regular and happy user of RapidWeaver for a couple of years and have never seen so many bugs as in the latest 4.0 release :

- It may forget to publish some of your modified pages (even if you force mark them as modified)

- The WYSIWYG editor doesn't necessarily output the correct visual styles.

- If you have 2 modified projects opened and publish one, it will mark both as published.

- and so on ...

Also, but this is a matter of taste, there is waaay to much visual fuss in the GUI. I usually don't mind a few over the top animations, but in this case it is a real usability setback (e.g the coverflow like animation when opening and publishing files). I guess they had to follow this "delicious" trend, IMHO it's more gratuitous than delicious...

I hope the most impairing bugs will be corrected really soon cause now I'm considering reverting to the pre-4.0 release and getting my update reimbursed.

CHATELP  I understand you concerns about APE. But I can assure you that it's perfectly safe.

CHATELP  I can't reproduce this bug on my computer. What version of MacOS are you using ? Also, do you use ShapeShifter or any haxie on your computer ?

CHATELP  10.3.x users can download older versions of sidenote here:

v1.7

www.chatelp.org/sidenote/sidenote_1.7.dmg

V1.6.1

www.chatelp.org/sidenote/sidenote_v1_6_1.sit

As I said, it's not really a bug in sidenote 1.7.1, it's more likely an incompatibility of some sort with versions of OSX prior to Tiger. Anyway, I'll look into it !

CHATELP  It seems there is an incompatibility with MacOS 10.3.9. I'll try to investigate this bug as soon as possible. I think I may have used a Tiger (10.4) only function.

CHATELP  Don't deactivate your theme for the whole system, just add sidenote to the exclude list of shapeshifter.

Btw, could you give me the name of the theme so I can try to reproduce the 'bug' on my computer. But in fact it is not a real bug, it's just that shapeshifter is interfering with sidenote.

Also, for the default note, as I was saying, I'll try to add the possibility to delete/rename it in a future iteration of sidenote but there will be a lot of work involved...

CHATELP  The default note is not a bug. It can't be removed because its purpose was to garantee that there is always at least one note available to enter text. I'll may change this behaviour in a future release.

I can't reproduce the color bug here. Can you give me more information ?

CHATELP  Thanks all for you comments !

Yes I'm fine :-) In fact I have not posted on my blog since a long time because I have been very busy at work. I was a student at university but now I'm working on my thesis so my free time is very very short ! But thanks for asking !

I'll try to make an update to sidenote as soon as I have some free time. At least, I'll try to release an universal binary very soon.

I also have a new free software that is finished but that hasn't been released yet.

PAT TOAL  This is a sweet little application. I would be very appreciative (donation) if this were released in a Universal binary, even though performance of this lightweight utility doesn't appear to suffer on my new Intel Core Duo.

Thanks!

Unifier

CHATELP  yes it shares the same interface than Metallifizer. BUT it's note the same haxie: metallifizer will only add/remove metal from cocoa apps, not unify them. Non-toolbar applications will lose their metal look in the unification process, which is why it has the exact same effect than Merallifizer on certain apps.

CHATELP  thanks for the great review :-)

I know about the acknowledgment lack, in fact it will work when i figure out how to make the little progress indicator spin correctly. I could always add a warning when the export has been done. Look for it in the next release (coming really soon) :-)

CHATELP  hummm, very strange !

so you said you changed the xml file in the preferences and it still doesn't work? I've tested the soft on different mac with french and and english systems and it didn't failed.

Would you please send the itunes' xml file to me so i could test it on my configuration, at: admin@chatelp.org

Also, do you use MacOS 10.3 ?

You could also launch the "console" utility and look if it dumps any message.

CHATELP  well, this is not a negative describtion, this is a warning... i didn't wanted to release it in it's current state. But since i'm work-overloaded this days, i tought it could be helpfull even if it's not finished.

The risks that you would have any problems are *very* limited since it just try to access your delicious library. At least, it could corrupt it, but that's very improbable (and there is the autosave feature)...

So check it yourself :-)
