CB31 I haven't been able to trace the problem yet, but on my system running 10.3.9 I have random system crashes caused by the system freezing, monitor shutting off, and other graphics/video crashes. This is using version 1.0. However, since they indicate the only changes made have been with respect to serial numbers, it's not worth another system crash to test this version. (Version 1.0d)

CB31 This isn't exactly free. The application nags you to register for $10. Too much for me for yet another zip/unzip program. (Version 1.0)

CB31 There is one requirement not listed. When launching the script or accessing it from Butler, it asks for the location of Microsoft Word. Why? Even when I pointed it to a copy of the Word classic application, it merely opens the Script Editor. When trying to run it in the Script Editor, it produces an error caused by Word class definitions being inaccessible. I liked the idea for the scripts but wasn't keen on having to hack them up to rid them of the Word dependency. (Version 1.2)

CB31 Am I missing something here? Flash and Shockwave are Macromedia products not Adobe. Macromedia produces the Flash browser plugin. The graphic used in the listing is also for Macromedia's Flash. (Version 9.0.0.297)

CB31 Whether or not software is listed is up to the developer. So, it took two months, because it took the developer two months to submit the information. (Version 1.0)

CB31 GreaseMonkey appears to be a Firefox extension (http://greasemonkey.mozdev.org/). So, it would appear this developer is working on something similar for Safari. (Version 0.2)

CB31 Launches but then freezes after startup on 10.3.9: requiring that I force quit the application. I suspect I've not installed the application in the right place (installed in Applications) but I'm not going to bother to experiment. No documentation comes with the download, so why bother. I can't honestly rate the features or ease of use because it doesn't work. (Version 0.5)

CB3 Since I find no mention of a 1.7.9 release on Mozilla's website or any of the other news outlets, I have to assume this isn't an official release. The fact that it can only be found on Mozilla's ftp server under nightly builds confirms this. Nightly builds or snapshots are not official releases. I'll wait until they announce the real deal. (Version 1.7.9)

JIMBOB You probably won't find an 'official' release because the official development has stopped on the Mozilla suite. The only releases you'll find now are unofficial community contributed ones. Mozilla is concentrating on Firefox and Thunderbird development now.

ANONYMOUS There *is* a Mozilla 1.7.9. I have a copy but I don't remember where I got it. (Version 1.7.10)

ANONYMOUS Saw this among the Mozilla site announcements (excerpted): "There was no Mozilla 1.7.9 release: it was cancelled after it was discovered that changes in the equivalent 1.0.5 releases of Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Thunderbird caused some problems." (Version 1.7.10)

CB3 I'm not so sure I would call them "pesky" files. .DS_Store is used by Directory Services. If you have FBC files, it's because you're using FindByContent. Not all resource forks are useless. Finally, the .Trashes are used via the Finder for storing files you delete by emptying the Trash. Deleting any or all of these files you may find certain functions no longer work or programs that no longer function. (Version 1.5)

CB3 It would have been nice had the requirement for 10.3.x been made more obvious. Thinking the application was still 10.2.x friendly, I replaced the previous version with the new one. Guess I should read the fine print more closely eh? (Version 3.1)

LEN PERUSKI Try deleting the file "com.heat.meteo.plist", then restart Meteorologist. You will lose your cities, but it seems to stablize and work properly. (Version 1.4.2)

CB3 Perhaps it would be helpful to clarify a few things about this package. This PHP package is NOT the 4.3.6 source code from php.net. It is Marc Liyanange's distribution of the PHP 4.3.6 module for the Apache web server for MacOS X. Depending on which version of OS X your server is running, and which version of Apache web server, you may want to stick with 4.3.4. Though it states 10.2 as a requirement, this distribution package was built for MacOS X 10.3. For other information, check the "More Infomation" link. (Version 4.3.6)

CB3 Funny you should mention Konfabulator. Reading the feature descriptions, it struck me that they sounded like several Konfabulator Widgets I've used. The only difference here is ... money. Most Widgets are freeware, and this is shareware. Go figure. (Version 1.1)
