If you are a skilled developer and have unlimited time to devote to the project, figure on 1 to 2 years. If not a skilled developer, 3 years plus, and if not programming full-time it might be 4 years. Undoubtedly these time frames are too long for most to self-develop, but one-person development takes lots of time. I would suggest encouraging the developers with incentives instead of bludgeoning them in public. While I have little sympathy for unresponsive developers, I also believe developers want the financial reward that is often unreachable selling shareware at $39 USD.

Disclosure: I'm a Mac developer and a software engineer for over 35 years, but I am not affiliated with the "Money" software in any way.

CCN X
Jun 3 2008

BRILORMAC  The UI uses modern Apple elements such as Databrowsers, unicode edit fields and more. These are clearly modern. Not every application needs to have an iTunes UI. The multiple windows approach allows the user to close windows not being used and keep only the small calendar window ( or whatever windows they desire to see ) visible. CCN X has always been a practical program with a simple interface; It was not written to provide "eye candy". Most of the comments from registered users indicate they like the simple interface.

Assuming this statement is true, which it isn't, it sounds like a slam of folks using terminal. Most of my users are non-technical folks from all walks of life including teachers, artists, and others. Most are not technical. What they like is simplicity and CCN X provides that. CCN X was never meant to have a comparable interface or feature set of some of the more complicated PIMs.
