BLKUPSPILOT I've just received my Verizon Novatel V640 Express Card and downloaded the Apple Update which allows my MacBook Pro to go to sleep when the lid is shut. What happens is that the computer "re-boots or awakes" and never goes into the sleep mode. How did I discover this, after a two-hour flight w/ my laptop in my back-pack, it was almost too hot to touch (my laptop) from being on the entire flight. I tried re-installing the update and also Verizon tech-support for the card, but still negative results.
BOTTOM LINE: The update doesn't allow the MAcBook Pro to sleep when you close the laptop...at least not mine.
