BENP  Interesting concept (even if not new) and nice UI, but it just won't run on 10.5.6; buttons become unclickable after a minute and the only thing to do is to quit.

BENP  Just not working - change any view option and it completely stops responding.

BENP  Is there a reason why this app is consistently (for 1+ month, if I'm not mistaken) at the top of the "Weekly Popular" list on the home page? I really doubt that's the case - no matter how good it is.

MISHA  You're not the only who has noticed this... there's been some suspect behavior surrounding this, but we've taken care of it. Some developers like to write scripts that ping our download link every second to inflate their numbers and get into the Weekly Popular. We've taken some measures to prevent this from happening moving forward.

LOUKASH  Given that this app has been around since 13 years (see http://www.cdfinder.de/en/en/versions.html) and successfully managed the transformation from Classic to OS X, it's likely that there is a pretty large user base who will download every new update available. I mean: I'm using CDFinder since 2000. And even though I'm currently using Norbert's yet-to-be-released 5.6 beta version, usually I'm downloading the regular updates via MacUpdate as well.

In other words: despite some quirks and in parts a bit "dated" interface design, CDFinder is probably still the most competent removable media cataloging software out there. I'm looking at other similar products regularly, and so far none can match CDFinder in terms of power and flexibility. Not to speak of the first class support, of course. (That's why I have currently the pleasure to use a "private" beta... :)

MISHA  We changed the way we log downloads at MU so that only 1 download per app per IP counts every 24 hours.

When we did this, daily downloads of CDFinder (which ranged from 25-5000) mysteriously stayed around 25-75 after that.

BENP  OPML importing is not working here either, although I can add feeds manually. Is that a limitation of the demo?
