RAY16 Hey guys I hear ya, if you have an older Mac! you begin to worry that a newer version won't work. I've learned to burn older DL files, SoundSpectrum doesn't keepan archive page. Right now I'm on a Slot Loading iMac, I was lucky enough to have DL files for G-Force v3.01 and whitecap 4.7.4

Moral is save those files

BB553  Does anyone have either functional download links or have archived for:

AOL 10.3.6 (rev. 4136.291 GM)

and the other AOL builds for OS X?

It seems that newer AOL builds for OS X doesn't always see/transfer Classic Mac AOL 3. 4 or 5 mailboxes, so sometimes you need to have earlier AOL builds for OS X available...

A tip for existing AOL users running Mac OS X:

I have had decent luck, specifically, with AOL 10.3.6 (rev. 4136.291 GM). This is a slightly older version from early 2005. It is not the easiest download to find and AOL has most likely moved or removed the link for it by now. The installer is just under 18 MB.

When my clients (both home and office users) are experiencing frequent problems with AOL for X or have "updated" recently, I backup their /users/shared/aol... folder (make a .zip with the CTRL-click menu item) and then manually remove all traces of AOL.

AOL 10.3.6 rev.4136.291 (*NOT* 4136.293) has been the best in my experience. This is NOT to say it is 100% reliable. You will still have unexpected quits (most often when disconnecting or quitting AOL).

I have not had exposure to OS 10.4 systems with this version, but with 10.3 and earlier this version was "stable" enough to keep folks running who could tolerate the remaining quits and issues.
