AV I reinstalled Snow Leopard and the 10.6.2 Combo update, without full erase, and the iCal Helper 99% cpu error has stopped. I havent tried to use iCal so the issue may just be hidden.... but im happy with that things could be back to normal. The End. (Version 2.1.1)

And the apple genius tried it again today, along with other stuff, and it didn't work! The only solution - so far - seems to be a fresh install..... (Version 2.1.1)

AV I cant open iSale, HitList, Process or iCal and in Safari i cant open youtube.... so whats gone wrong? Probably a few others things glitching in the background that have yet to fully surface. All this after doing a user cache clean with the standard checkboxes marked - 100% fault of OYNX. Im going to Apple Genuis bar tomorrow and i will see what they say - hopefully they can fix it without a complete reinstall. If not then a complete reinstall is my only option. Onyx is like using a Windoze app. Will wont trust Onyx again. Let this be a warning to others. (Version 2.1.1)

TITANIUM1 The caches are simply files which accelerates some operations. The Cache files are automatically rebuilt. Any cache-files can be removed without risk. Your problems: You have probably errors in the structure of System files. Have you checked your disk before starting the cleanup? Probably not… Please, check and repair it, it's VERY important! You speak of Windoze application… ;-) Your first reaction: reinstall the system then you're probably a switcher. . Please, forget your bad reflexes of Windows user. The first reflexe is check the disk!! You have a Apple computer! ;-) (Version 2.1.1)

TITANIUM1 For iCal Helper and the 99% CPU problem, it's a know bug of the System!! Go in the /LibraryPreferences/ByHost/ folder of your Home Folder and delete the com.apple.iCal.helper.xxxxxxx.plist file. (the xxxxxxx are a number, the MAC addresse) More info here (2 pages): http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jsp ... 0&tstart=0 (Version 2.1.1)

ST00P!D M0NK3Y If you re-install Snow Leopard again, it won't change any of your files on the computer... or your accounts, etc... so you won't really be starting over again. You can try just installing Snow Leopard again instead of reformatting the entire computer with Disk Utility and see if that helps. (Version 2.1.1)

AV It might be an isolated incident but it doesnt negate the fact that it messed up MY system. I have nothing geeky or niche about my setup - just a regular home user. Its wiped something to do with the ical and i have no idea why or how to fix it..... i dont want to spend hours reinstalling from scratch and setting up the OSX/Apps exactly how i like them but it looks like i might have to with ical helper kicking in every 30 mins and zapping the cpu.... so frustrating. AV Stop working for me today and in trying to get it to work again other problems have come up. I love this app but i have no choice but to move to Vuze because i cannot get it to work again - bar a complete reinstall of the OSX which im not going to do (but might have to do bcos of other issues created trying to solve this problem!). Ive deleted the app and reinstalled and it still wont work. Left a post on the support forum but no response as yet. Vuze is not bad .... many a few to many pref options .... but i will have to get used to it..... (Version 1.76)

AV Everything was fine until i used the user cache cleaner function and its caused me a major headache. The OSX was perfect and now i dont know how many issues will come up going forward. After the cache clean I get "iCal helper" cycling at 99% CPU on start up. After forcing quitting it it restarts after 10 mins etc. and when i start iCal itself it comes up with a message saying "iCal upgrading calendars" and never goes beyond that - crashes. This should be a rating of 1 review and it still might be. I appreciate its a free app but i never expected major issues...... (Version 2.1.1)

ST00P!D M0NK3Y You don't have to re-install the entire system. You can just re-install iCal. Backup your iCal data and either re-intall it, or try deleting the preferences file. Reformatting should be a last resort. (Version 2.1.1)

AV Like it alot. Been using it for a few weeks now. Its as it says - clear & easy to use. Ive been wanting to consistently write a journal for sometime now and i feel with this tidy little app i will. I own myText & myDiary - i'm a big fan of these two apps. Both have the necessary functionality for me without 'distracting' from their actual function - to help the user Focus. Thank you and keep developing. (Version 1.1)

AV Best FTP Manager. Ive tried a few of the big names on & off, and although not an intensive ftp user, this works and works very well for me to manage my Mobileme iDisk account. AV Brilliant. Ive used it for years now and its the first thing that gets installed on any Mac i use and sits on-top on all windows in the bottom right-hand corner (transparent background and nice subtle coloured indicators). It tells me at-a-glance what the Mac is doing internally - its indispensable. You can see very quickly if an app glitches in the background and the processor is sapping battery power, or if data is being downloaded or uploaded, hard drive is being read, wifi strength, battery indicator etc etc etc - all instantly & beautifully- AND it tells me the time, moon phase and not to forget the info panels! Absolutely Perfect. And the price is also well judged (for me!). Please continue to develop this superb application. (Version 2.1.9)

AV So far so very good. Its not perfect but ive given it 5 Stars because it has helped me alot already and has massive potential. There is of room for improvement on every level - functionality, presentation & stability. I am hoping this will come..... then it will be a killer app truly worthy of 5 stars. I hope the next release finetunes the annotation functions (text wrap, font etc) and a tagging system similar to how to delicious does tagging ... anyway, ive listed suggestions on the application forum so i wont repeat them all here. Please continue to develop this application to its full potential! (and justify the 5 Stars!!) (Version 1.0.2)

The Hit List | Apr 16 2009 |
Ive been using it for a week or so now and i think its excellent. In both functionality and presentation its great. This is my first review and it says alot for how i feel this application that has helped me get fully organised very quickly - and i feel like ive spent forever tweaking the way i manage todo's, info, projects etc. endlessly switching apps and/or method. This could be it - 'The One'. At full price it's alittle too much for me personally so to get it as part of the Mac Heist Bundle is a massive bonus. I hope future releases add to the functionality & presentation *without* reducing any of its current appeal. It has a good balance between depth and ease of use - which will cater for different 'levels' of users. The use of yellow notebook background, lines etc. i like and the ability to sort lists individually etc etc shows attention to detail. I would like to this to extend to notes expanded / collapsed per list.... anyway, its great. Thank you. I look forward to the iPhone app! (Version 0.9.3.7b)
