your choice though

Type: CommentsDate: 26 Feb 2007 11:1120$? arent there free programs that do pretty much the same things?
![]()
Type: ReviewDate: 25 Feb 2007 14:09pretty cool
quick, and simple
but
it took a minute to understand how to decrypt.
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 13 Feb 2007 12:43cool. especially because i have the hd280 pros
but you could have like options for other electronics sets (so i can change the SLR and stuff)
thanks

Type: CommentsDate: 12 Feb 2007 21:20the application is so nice
is there any way to program the floater to appear when a song changes?
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 8 Feb 2007 21:41but still, it really is unethical.
open source is about giving back to the community
besides it makes absolutely no sense anyways, people use bittorrent because they hate paying for things (usually, i know there are legitamite downloads but seriously) why would you pay for a bittorrent client that will never be faster than its open source counterpart?
the only step up is searching, but being part of a community and knowing of www.google.com and www.scrapetorrent.com makes this completely useless
i do give the author some credit though, he is simplifying torrenting for the masses, and maybe it will catch on, but still.
(besides, i get better speeds in azereus. should have used their source somehow)

Type: CommentsDate: 8 Feb 2007 13:23if you use "folderglance" this can happen. if your home folder is in the menu, if you right click, go to your home folder and click "move selection here" your desktop will end up there. just move it back(with folderglance, finder wont let you)
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 8 Feb 2007 13:12lol i actually do.
alot of people start off buying a cheap used imac g3 or something to see how they like it, then step it up to a newer mac
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 8 Feb 2007 13:10www.scrapetorrent.com
this is pretty nice though, if it could be a widget form...
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 8 Feb 2007 13:07this is nice. if i could see whats playing it would be a little cooler though.
saves some time for the right click menu in the dock
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 7 Feb 2007 14:16good idea, but i just use "virtue desktops" to switch between two desktops.
its nice, i just flick my mouse to the right edge of the screen and my workcomes up, flick againa dn addictinggames and digg come back up.
and i set a keyboard shortcut too, just incase i think i cant make it in time

Type: CommentsDate: 6 Feb 2007 17:05why pay 15?
search MU for "thumbs up" it does this and more for free

Type: CommentsDate: 3 Feb 2007 13:14actually can you add 3 things?
law of sines (sin(A)/a=sin(B)/b=sin(C)/c or something like that)
law of cosines (dont really remember this one)
and the alternate area of triangle equation (1/2absin(C))
and maybe proportions if there is an easy way.
thankyou

Type: CommentsDate: 3 Feb 2007 12:53shiira is pretty damn stable. ive been using it for half a year and its unexpectedly quit like 3 or 4 times. i used safari for 2 or 3 months and it quit like 6.
never completely locked up my computer either
(ppc though)
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 1 Feb 2007 17:37you have to wait for it to warm up.
i thought this application was taken down by the lava lamp company?
(stupidly, all this did was make me want to buy a real lava lamp)
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 30 Jan 2007 18:54thank you so much. this program is so much better then preview, wayyy faster on my 1.25 g4.
definately a must have
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 27 Jan 2007 23:15or you could use the FREE "folderglance" and put a folder with aliases to or even the whole applications folder in your contextual menu
i'd rather pay though. thanks
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 17 Jan 2007 20:01with "spark", or "quicksilver" even, you can assign hotkeys to scripts
plus there is already an applescript menu (ive read the description, this is no different) but if that isnt good enough for you, Folderglance lets you assign any folder to your context menu.
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 17 Jan 2007 19:57you can use the unarchiver(freeware) to unpack stuffit files.

Type: CommentsDate: 9 Jan 2007 17:14its azereus user interface (pretty much, looks good with windows and alright on a mac)
so stop hating
![]()
Type: ReviewDate: 7 Jan 2007 12:39this is an awesome widget thanks.
except i always forget how to do like eL and all of those with normal letters and accents. those should be included
(i know it shows you how to do it in html but that is useless if you are in pages or something)
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 5 Jan 2007 15:08forgive my ignorance but what makes this better then thumbs up?
![]()
Type: ReviewDate: 1 Jan 2007 16:18this is a good tetris clone. thanks
2 things, you cannot program arrow keys to move pieces and there is no "hold" piece
other than that this is great
-quinn is pretty good but all the fancy animation and stuff ruins it. all they update is network play, which is useless to me. this is more fun, faster paced, and a better game.
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 14 Dec 2006 21:25some kind of application version would be very nice.
otherwise this is pretty cool. thanks
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 3 Dec 2006 21:16the first thing MOST people do is go into the preferences and set everything to what they need.
his options make sense to his preference, maybe not yours.
that does not make this a bad application.
i PREFER it over alarm clock 2, they are about the same as good as eachother.
and the itunes alarm hasnt failed me once it has even needed the backup, those complaints were from a whillle ago.
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 12 Nov 2006 20:40i see what your saying but my problem is i cant send a song to a friend without giving them my itunes login, where they can buy music to my credit card.
it doesnt need to be ONLY mp3 and ONLY aac. make it like an option, a little checkbox or something.
thanks for your time
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 12 Nov 2006 12:00this is a pretty cool idea. havent tested it but can i ask, does this convert to aac?
i prefer aac, and you lose alot of quality going from mp4 to mp3
if it doesnt you should find a way to add it.
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 31 Oct 2006 19:37wow look at all those programs, you must be super duper efficient!
the dock is the best.
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 22 Oct 2006 01:17under 10.4.7 i cant get it to split my 1200 mb file. it just shows the little splitting window for a split second and closes
![]()
Type: ReviewDate: 21 Oct 2006 09:53alright here is my feedback:
the curtian is a cool idea if you dont have front row, but it doesnt work at all. doesnt show current song playing, doesnt show switch. just the rating (which is odd)
the window is a little big, i really dont need that much space just to state the artist.
there is no search button, i really think it needs a button to open and close the search window (which does work well).
also, right off the bat there is an applescript error (as mentioned below) and it refuses to work without growl. i dont use growl, i wont use growl, so an option to just skip the whole growl thing would be nice
thanks for trying, a little work and this application would be some hot stuff. peace
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 21 Oct 2006 09:43this sounds awesome. but not to sound ignorant, i havent found a good set of plugins until now, and i dont know how to install these
any help?
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 20 Oct 2006 09:11sounds like a good program, but judging from the screenshot it could use some space efficiency. its too big and obtrusive for what it does
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 15 Oct 2006 12:40well if you could make it more space efficient somehow.
perhaps like have an option in the preferences to get rid of some things(for instance i have no use for the volume meter), or just have the volume thing as a little button, and when you press that the actual slider comes up and stuff
the two tabs at the top are gigantic. have miniscule buttons on the side (so they take away the pretty much unused space at the top) and instead of saying "music" and "search" just have like a musical note and a magnifying glass
i think im gonna make a photoshop of my ideas and email it to you. it could be pretty hard to program i guess.
(btw. children of bodom is a good band)
![]()
Type: ReviewDate: 12 Oct 2006 20:17this is a MUST have application.
makes any other launchers completely obsolete.
folder viewing works flawlessly, no real impact on any system resources.
even renders a preview of your pictures, unbelievable.
thank you so much for this free software.

Type: ReviewDate: 24 Sep 2006 12:41Opera is a solid web browser
you guys are suggesting all these other browsers that are way better or whatever, opera is good too
it has its advangates and disadvantages
-i really like the sidebar
-with some customizing looks really cool, and works well
downside,
-it takes alot of customizing
-it takes a while turning some of the features off
i think that if this browser were simplified it would be a little better
![]()
Type: ReviewDate: 11 Sep 2006 21:33niceee dudee
sick.
better cpu usage would be better, it kills my cpu, and when i go fullscreen its all jagged
also slome options, lkee fiddling with what colors show up, and how much
thankyou

Type: CommentsDate: 4 Sep 2006 21:13front row enabler has been ceased.
i had used it, and it worked, but then i installed a software update, and frontrow redisabled.
leaving me to look for applications like this
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 28 Aug 2006 00:19sounds like a cool idea, but would be cooler as a menu extra or widget
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 27 Aug 2006 00:40this is an alright application, but the window is a little bulky.
an ultra compact skin or something, and this would be my main itunes controller

Type: CommentsDate: 24 Aug 2006 23:32if you uncheck "show album art on ipod" or something like that, in the ipod preferences (in itunes) it doesnt copy the artwork.
well at least on my ipod nano it doesnt

thankyou
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 14 Aug 2006 21:58ahh found another glitch!
it deleted all the search engines i programmed into shiira, not the recent searches
:-(
![]()
Type: ReviewDate: 14 Aug 2006 17:53wow that was fast
my interest in this application comes because i use mainly shiira, sometimes camino and although shiira is an excellent browser but it lacks a delete everything function, and camino deletes my saved passwords.
this is a quick solution. wouldnt change anything about this app, thankyou
a veryyy small glitch, when you click options, open shiira, since shiira is in a subfolder in /applications it doesnt open.
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 9 Aug 2006 00:39hello mr.developer
typically not a very fast computer, imac g4 1.25ghz 512mb of ram
ill admit my trial of tunex somehow ran out, even though i used it for maybe half an hour
i can remember how much it was though
while just sitting around the app took up maybe 1%-5%
and when the little bar thing is activated it shot up to50-75%
for generally use its bearable, but if i try to open it up while doing something the whole computer hangs.
![]()
Type: ReviewDate: 5 Aug 2006 23:54this is a nice solid application for waking you up.
has waken me up many times
its now competing with aurora which i like too, but this definately has its advantages
thanks for the free software
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 3 Aug 2006 12:07i lovee shiira but, i just use "uno" to do this to my whole system.
still a good idea though
![]()
Type: ReviewDate: 3 Aug 2006 01:16awesome widget
i really like the whole interface and capabilities, its flawless.
honestly though i would prefer a non-widget version
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 3 Aug 2006 00:57sorry if i missed something but what makes this any different or any better then the screensaver to show pictures that comes with your mac?
![]()
Type: ReviewDate: 17 Jul 2006 14:04i like this idea and interface and stuff
a few inconsistancies i noticed though
-uses alot of cpu
-menu bar displays either track or artist, i would like it to be both at the same time
-when the hotkey to show the controller is pressed, you have to go back to the mouse and click in the search part to actually search. you should just be able to start typing.
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 16 Jul 2006 20:09is there even a version of tetris made by the tetris company for Mac OS X?
![]()
Type: ReviewDate: 11 Jul 2006 01:43the only really useful thing about this program is the display song in menubar feauture.
i prefer the "bezel" look to my windows and stuff.
not to mention it consistantly uses 5% of my processor when doing nothing but displaying the song in the menubar.
i really dont mean to come down on the developer, i really appreciate free software but i cant afford to lose my processing power like that, so cut it down please? and maybe add a little customization to the window and this application would be very very good.
thanks.

Type: CommentsDate: 29 Jun 2006 00:25"aurora" wakes from deep sleep too. plus it has a nice interface
![]()
Type: ReviewDate: 26 Jun 2006 22:13i think you should change the description from "a very basic bittorrent client" to "a simple and elite bittorent client"
it is simple. it is fast. it is lightweight. it is elite
thank you.
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 22 Jun 2006 12:26I hate to do this but there are free programs that do that and more.
(aurora is my favorite)
its still a solid program though.
![]()
Type: ReviewDate: 22 Jun 2006 00:40nice.
i really like this program. I thought camino was as good as it gets, and never really thought to try this.
it is so fast: loads quicky, loads tabs quickly, browses the internet quickly despite the lack of http pipelining (which i agree should be added), and even closes quickly
it has a standard interface that can be customized easily.
its really stable
renders pages well
my only problems are: that there are no spacers in the bookmark bar, and its kind of a hassle to get the bookmarks to work(convert to safari, then safari to firefox, then to shiira) because of no easily found import
![]()
Type: ReviewDate: 19 Jun 2006 01:29If i could give this more then five stars i would.
It saved me mucccchhh money and time and lets me finally burn cds quickly and effectively.
i used some magicspin cd burner i got from radio shack and it works flawlessly, burning full speed with toast and after restarting my computer a couple times.
its funny how the cd burner is bigger then my entire mac mini though
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 15 Jun 2006 22:03The application doesnt seem to even open
it would be nice if all ti was was like a small text box and it played stuff without having to call itunes to the front(which is the fault of every script ive seen)
i think the script would be much biggerhelp to me so i could program it to a hotkey or something.
free software is always appreciated though thanks.
![]()
Type: ReviewDate: 14 Jun 2006 20:12(followup to previous post)
I really come to prefer aurora. the interface is much nicer and doesnt take up menubar space (im thankful for turning that option off)
it doesnt need its faisafe player if you put your computer to sleep with itunes running.
i preffer "Pause" to put me to sleep, because it lets me do other things to turn it off, more function like that and this would be perfect.
thanks
![]()
Type: ReviewDate: 14 Jun 2006 16:19decent application. Im a fan of the entire move and copy(and the batch rename) but i think that this apps interface could be a little better looking. it takes a couple minutes to get familiar with.
xee browses my images much faster and i would honestly prefer it for sorting because of its keyboard control but this app does what it says pretty well.
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 25 May 2006 20:48I use Alarm Clock 2 but it rarely actually plays itunes and i muchhhhhhh prefer aurora's layout.
the new version promises alot, and ill test it but i have one question
what is this "wake from "deep sleep""
my 2 years with macs i have never seen that option.
it seems like just a gimmick to me.
thanks for free software, and ill test it.
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 25 May 2006 20:42Its JAVA. its not in the same league as the x86 vs ppc thing. as long as it runs anyways, why do you worry?
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 27 Apr 2006 20:01Slowest application evverrr. mac mini, 1.25 g4 but still, its sooooo slow and goes completely unresponsive while its doing anything at all.
![]()
Type: ReviewDate: 16 Apr 2006 12:32Quinn is a good but still very basic tetris application.
runs smoothly and well, plays very well, looks good.
some features:
a hold box, (press a key it goes to the box then swaps out)
longer time on the ground (immediatly as it hist the next piece comes down, get sme so angry especially near the top)
maybe more next pieces
turn off all of those quirky animations and stuff(like when you drop a piece it bounces)
i noticed alternate graphics sets, maybe building those into preferences
also, i noticed one glitch. sometimes (especially when playing multiple games in the same session) the pieces dont comne down, they just stay at the top.
thats it though, this application seems unfinished, it could use alot more features but it is strongly built as it is.
thanks for making it free
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 28 Mar 2006 15:34much better then ourtunes.
doesnt work with password protected shares though which is a huge dissapointment,(applescript error)
other then that though works well.
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 15 Mar 2006 13:16works beautifully, no noticable cpu butchering.
its so nice to rep my music, and when ther e is no art i can have a normal icon.
(btw using latest adium, works perfectly)
thank you very much!
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 15 Mar 2006 12:57this would be realllllly useful and cooler if it were a widget. i dont like clutter that much, and its a gooood idea.
make it a widget please. thanks
thanks for the free software
![]()
Type: Hint/TipDate: 15 Mar 2006 12:45there is a much better application for this, and since the link seems to be dead i thought i'd spoil it
ichartwork. mad nice for adium and ichat
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 26 Feb 2006 20:51i really was looking forward to downloading this, i wanted a good boggle clone but, it seems like this is really old or somthng and non of the links work for it, i tried googling it but no luck. can anyone upload it somewhere for me, or give me a link to get it from, thank you
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 24 Feb 2006 10:05a very strongly reccommended application.
works very well and fluently and elimates the need for lots of little apps(like ones that make mock apple menus repicating the ones in os 9, those are pointless if you use this)
layout and preferences and every aspect of it is easy and works well
im on a very small computer(literally), a mac mini 1.25 256mb of ram, barely any noticable lagging,
very very nice application
![]()
Type: ReviewDate: 23 Feb 2006 16:20ehh its alright. really easy to use but the donations dialog gets annoyyinggg especially since you cant close out of it quickly, people can see that you are hiding something, kind of defeats its own purpose. its really not that secure either, any system maintenance app with show all hidden files on, you can eassily find the folder and acess everything
![]()
Type: Hint/TipDate: 21 Feb 2006 21:04goooood application
nice and quick, but is the dock icon and the menu bar loading thing bogging you down and just pissing you off? yeh me too.
maybe and option to switch all of that on and off, but for no i have to do it analogly with dockless
so, use dockless to get rid of the icon and menu, and then this application is Perrfect
![]()
Type: ReviewDate: 21 Feb 2006 18:53this program is incredibly slow. im only on a mac mini but still, i think:
Xee is much much better just in every way, even though it is still in devolopment. not to totally kill the developer i love free software, but it would take alot of changes to make this a useful app.
i like the interface though
![]()
Type: Hint/TipDate: 21 Feb 2006 15:24this application works pretty well, seems pretty good but it gets a little complicated and stuff. It has a lot of options and flexibility
i just use filelist(which is free) though
