ASHMADUX yeah it would be great if there was better reviews and information for this program. I am highly suspect of nullriver because of thier past performance with some of thier software and lack of support- most notable being pspware, which started out great and became a complete disaster. they simply stopped updating it, even when sony came otu with new features. usability dramatically shifted from one version to the next. however, i have the demo installed, have had it for sometime now, but one bitten twice shy. and this has been out for sometime, doesn tseem like much people are using it, so i cant help but think this is goignto happen again. couple these guys past perfomance and sony's ability to screw up ps3 updates, i guess ill be on the fence a lot longer. nulriver needs to step their game up, they act like midnight programmers. ASHMADUX Holy heck, i was just thinking the same thing. I love transmit- it just works and it works well. but I'll be damned if i didnt say that it looks pretty old hat..many of us content creators liek a nice looking AND functional piece of software, so how about it panic, how about a nice leopard-over for everyone's fave PLEASE update the interface, pretty please? KKNOPP Why? It goes along with HIG that Apple set foward. There is nothing wrong with the GUI. GUIs are not, I repeat NOT supposed to distract from the main content. Transmit's GUI doesn't do this, AND is very very workable. There is no reason to change the GUI of something just to be doing it. Don't fix something that isn't broke. I for one would trash Transmit if it got some lame GUI makeover that added nothing to ease of use. Read the Apple HIG sometime (Version 3.6.6)

ASHMADUX im not particularly worried about word, but entourage. im running on 4.5gigs of ram, plenty of hard drive space, my dualie g5 still screams. EXCEPT when it comes to this bloody program. No inclination of any database issues, though it contains 3k+ emails. if it wasnt a problem before, it shouldnt be a problem now. The long startup for word has always been an issue for many. Beleive me, i was suprised all to hell to see that it was so slow on the g5. If there is in fact somethign goign on, there has been no warning, process, or signs of anything. I almost fell out of my chair when i saw the window redraw. (Version 12.0.1)

ASHMADUX While true i do have a lot of fonts active/installed, the long intro happens every single time. as far as the application, it is SLOW. window to window, response to presses, SLOW. i run a clean ship over here, especially on the G5. the app takes about a second to respond to anything window changes especially. window redraw is horrendous, reminding me of the days of os x 10.0- no exaggeration. the powerbook is certainlyy getting long in the tooth, but i had no such sluggishness with the previous app- i just updated 3 weeks ago. thats means a lot. its been documented on many reviews that the speed of the apps have taken a hit with this new version. my setup is reflective of a professional that workd with print, web, and video. if all you use is internet and light apps, everything on your system better be flying. what i'm saying is based on this app that i use every day, entourage 08, the performance stinks. ASHMADUX MBU should be ashamed of themselves.this software is not only dog slow on recent hardware, even after the update its till takes 2 minutes just for the app to launch. that is PATHETIC. I would implore anyone looking to upgrade to this pile of rubbish to hold out for another point update or two. Granted, my PB 1.5 is nothing close to the latest hardware, but why is this app taking 3 mins to load on a dual 2.5ghz G5? this is absolutely deplorable behavior for such a large business company. for those who are going to just go ahead and upgrade, enjoy your speedy 2004 while it lasts. For the record, i only use entourage, im scared to death of opening up any of the other apps as i might have to watch the launch screen for more minutes....sigh (Version 12.0.1)

XIAN ZHU XUANDE Either you're exaggerating way too much, or there's something wrong with your computer. I just timed Microsoft Word after the update and it took six seconds. I've got a very fast computer so it will probably be slower for other people, but not two minutes. If it is optimizing your font cache that can slow boot time significantly, but it should not be a regular thing. If it is, you've got a problem which you need to address. (Version 12.0.1)

ESPIRIDION As another point of reference, it took Entourage 2008 about 11 seconds to launch for me, while running 10 other applications in addition to roughly 20 background processes. ASHMADUX oh, by the way, im using the software on a PB G4 15" w/10.5.1, with a linksys wrtg54s wireless router its always worked for me- when i had tiger, and when i migrated over to leopard. cant find firewall settings (lol), but file sharing and web sharing is on. good luck to ya! ASHMADUX is working for my 360- however, MS or connect360 developers should make a list of what WONT play...if i have time i will try, but for now here are issues i see: -some divix 3.1 files just wont play, dont know why -as well, some regular AVC files wont play as well, while most others do -standard mpeg4 files are the most consistent i have a feeling that the ps3 wont have any issues with the muxed files since cybershots saves in that video format, as well as some of the avc the more i use this, the more i wish appletv was a hit, sheesh, too much back and forth. ah well, until the day media centers become more viable i guess i will suffer

PSPWare | Apr 30 2006 |
ASHMADUX This app is now old hat. The developers refuse to include features that the customers ask for. • NO AVC support. While the pc users have had it for quite some time. Thanks. If you look on their forums they seem to be dead set against adding the feature, considering as feature bloat. Idiots. It's a supported sony format and we want to use it. Thanks again. • ERASES MEM STICK EVERY TIME you sync. F*cking dumb. You have to reset what you want on the card every-time. What if you just added one thing? Ludicrous. • GREAT psp encoding. that's all i use this for now, i don't even bother syncing anymore, its no longer important. • NOT AS FAST AS EARLIER VERSIONS. Dudes are getting lazy, or what? Many more movies now require the SLOW AS HELL quicktime conversion to be processed- even on my dual 2.5 the sh*t is slow as hell- what gives? the process used to be downright zippy back on a dual 142 g4. CMON!!! All i ask for is proper AVC support, better conversion speed, and getting rid of the aforementioned 'idiot' erase everything first' method.

ASHMADUX Better than version 1, but... The biggest draw for me, psp export, is such a piece of shit i wonder why they included it in the first place. I have been looking for an app to replace the STERILE PSPWARE to process movies for psp- but for the love of good no matter aht settign i choose the quality is stinking garbage. I MEAN STINKING CRAPPY garbage. I mean, its not even o.k. by any means, sheesh roxio. i guess they were hell bent on not using the ffmpeg/xvid encoders, becuase ive never seen anything quite as bad as this. The fit-to-dvd- compression is as good as ever. And If the video quality level approaches good, or medium, you are better off burning to a dual layer, as depending on the material it introduces too many artifacts. THE KILLER with this upgrade is that once you deslect any extras- a new pick and choose feature- it automatically turns off the menu.....if I could make a dvd backup with only the menu and the main track , it could save a lot of disk space to reduce the compression rate- or just get rid of the crap you don't want all together. C'mon Roxio, add this PLEASE??!??? All in all, nice upgrade, but the compression engine for formats other than dvd sucks a lot of ass. I forced my friend to get this app for me and now I am so sad.... P.S.- one of you great, appreciated mac developers out there need to de-vein pspware- tepid at best compared to the pc versions of anything psp related. (Version 2.0)

ASHMADUX you peopl complaiing about this program must be crazy or something. i've been using popcorn for over a year and have backed up almost a hundred dvds. it rarely, if ever fails. never any problems over here. it does seem to have some issues with built in appe drives- some dvds wont burn to the max speeds unless i use my firewire dvr-109. the process: rip with macthe ripper. burn with popcorn. can it get any easier than that? And it is a hell of a lot more stable than the last toast- now that program has soem serious bugs, kickin g up my bad disk ratio almost 50 percent.
