ASDFASD Without any doubt EndNote is still the best reference manager ever! You can share entire libraries between PCs and Macs, and this is essential for someone that works with both platforms, or when you collaborate with people that uses different OS. The integration of EndNote with Microsoft Word is great and now it can also work with Apple Pages. EndNote its ugly and it has a really bad GUI when comparing to Papers or Sente, but it works a lot better than those two together when you need to write a paper or a thesis. So do not even bother in buying Sente, it is expensive and it lacks the most essential feature on a reference manager the integration to Word and Pages... (Version 5.7.5)

ALANTERRA Sente 5 and 6 can also integrate with any word processor that saves as .rtf. There are problems inherent in .rtf, but given the limitations of .rtf, Sente can insert references and create a bibliography. (Version 6.0.19)

Right Zoom | Mar 17 2009 |
ASDFASD I was (and I am) looking for an application like this for a long time. I was also expecting to see apple changing the green plus sign behaviour, the way it originally works seems more like a bug than anything else. Right Zoom works perfectly if you are in a one monitor situation, unfortunately when working with a dual setup (my case) its behaviour starts to become quite annoying. Since instead maximising the window size to the size of the monitor where that window is, it simply moves the window to the first monitor and than maximizes it... So no use for me... and I am still looking for the right zoom application still. Regarding the cmd + tab shortcut it was really a bad idea since it is the default key for a new tab in Safari, fortunately you can easy change the key or delete that option from the option .plist file inside the app, so it is really fixable. Has I said good app for a one monitor, not that useful for multiple monitors... (Version 1.4)

THZS How to install: unpack the ZIP file (Safari does this automatically, I think), copy/move scidavis.app (a so called application bundle) to your application folder. Done. If it does not run, you probably don't have the necessary libraries installed. Next time you have a question, please ask in the SciDAVis forums (follow the "More Information" link) instead of writing a one star review. (Version 0.2b1)

ASDFASD I would be quite happy to give you a 5 star review if I had discovered how to install your app! In the description you just mention that GNU Scientific Library (GSL) it's needed. But no link is given! I think it would be useful to have some installation instructions specific for Mac Os X in the downloaded zip file. Has you may see I am quite newby on this "not-at-all-like-mac" applications (naalmac). For me this application "dies on the beach" even before it's installation, that is way I gave it a 1 star. The GSL could be found at: ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/gsl/gsl-1.11.tar.gz. The latest one is 1.11. It is also the one I used to build SciDavis. After downloading and extracting all files, all you need to do is (2) change to the root directory of GSL files by typing "cd xxx/gsl-1.11". xxx just means the directory hosting GSL files. If it is correctly executed, you should be brought to the root directory of GSL files. (3) type "./configure" to configuring GSL compiling environment (4) If no error, type "sudo make" and a password prompt should appear. After entering your administration password, the compiling process will begin, and you will see lots of messages filling your terminal. (5) If the compiling ends without error, type "sudo make install" and the installation will be carried. (6) That is done after the command prompt appears again. (7) If you got some troubles and would like to restart the process, just type "sudo make clean" to clean all temp files. If you want to uninstall GSL, just type "sudo make uninstall" Hope this help. LEV Well really Sente and the other heavy-lifting biblio software are rather more than the average undergraduate needs. And once you move to postgraduate work, a $90-odd investment in the daily work of your profession doesn't seem so much to spend. (One less beer a month over the average PhD course, to put it in perspective.) (Version 5.6.15)

Sente | Nov 5 2008 |
ZEBA Undergraduate version is overpriced and has a limit on the size of the library. Graduate students are not eligible for the undergraduate version. Do you think graduate students bath in money? (Version 5.6.16)

Sente | Nov 17 2008 |
LEV From their website: "Sente 5 Undergraduate Edition has all of the features of the regular product, but limits the size of each library to 250 references." I doubt there are many undergraduate courses which require >250 references for individual modules/papers/projects. As far as I can see, there's no limit on the *number* of ≤250-reference libraries you can have. Do I think postgrads "bath" in money? No. Nor do undergraduate clinical medical students; yet they manage to buy a stethoscope. Let me expand the calculation. A cheap pint of beer in Chicago is $3. (http://www.pintprice.com/region.php?/United_States/usd.html) The undergraduate edition of Sente is $40. That's thirteen beers. The average undergraduate course lasts three years. To buy Sente (undergraduate edition) would involve drinking roughly one beer fewer per quarter. The full academic licence, over a three-year PhD course, would come out at one beer fewer every six weeks. The cost/benefit analysis is up to the individual. But if you really, really can't skip that extra beer every two or three months, there's always BibTex... (Version 5.7)

ASDFASD I leave this text editor! Simple and efficient... But I think its time to a new update. Code folding and a higher number of snipets would be quite useful. But for me its still is my favorite text editor and a lot more mac like than BBedit.

ASDFASD DoBeDo is just a great tool! I love it, is the easiest, fastest and useful way to implement GTD. I do not always have the Mail open, and I think most of us shouldn't since it distract us to much. The dashboard is always there when you need it. There is a beta version on the Bluehenley website that is working great with Leopard: http://www.bluehenley.com/products/dobedo/download/beta/dobedo.wdgt.zip

ASDFASD This is a great app, the interface is very good, the best of its kind. Contrary to previous comments, dropping an application to the application icon in the dock or in the Finder starts the delete procedure. Unfortunately there is a problem to report: if you have an application inside a folder it will not delete that folder and the contents of it besides the application! This is a very big defect since a lot of applications and a lot of its files are inside a folder. I do not know if this is very difficult to fix, but if so it would be the best application delete tool. I hope the developer fix this problem soon. (Version 1.0.1)

ASDFASD If you use Safri you probably would like to have a look here: http://hackerfriendly.com/wp/2006/07/20/video-downloader-bookmarklet-for-safari/ You just need to insert this code as a bookmark (preferentialy on the bookmarks bar): javascript:location.href='http://videodownloader.net/get/?url='+encodeURIComponent(location.href) If you want to download the video just press it... JPPAGLIARO First of all, you have to be careful when you use the term "same." McDonald's and Burger King can be consdiered the same because the both primarily deal with hamburgers, but they are hardly the same :-) Second, there are many other programs that do this, such as TubeSock, numerous websites, even ways to find direct links using Safari. If you're going to point out alternatives, why don't you endeavor to be a bit more thorough, and point out all of them? This way it's fair.

Seatubes | Jun 27 2007 |
JPPAGLIARO I did a bit of reviewing on MacUpdate of the product you say does the "same thing" as Seatubes. The reviews for that product indicate that either it doesn't work well, or it doesn't simplify the task of downloading the movies - namely because it doesn't determine the URL for you - which is the more difficult part. You apparently need to use Safari to find the URL. (Version 1.0.5)
