ARCHAEOGEEK Considering the well known history of bugginess of adobe applications, I seriously wonder who, exactly, you are after reading your string of comments regarding PSE and Adobe apps in general, and maybe a bit who is your master. (Version 8.0)

ARCHAEOGEEK "Not as world ending" Which is why it remains on the dock, the app is great, but still annoying at times, I also thought there was an existing bug report about this on the trac (much better filed than I usually do them) (Version 0.8.6.6)

ARCHAEOGEEK Seriously, it's a chat program, if you absolutely need to run it 64-bit, you're doing it wrong. (Version 3.0a4)

ARCHAEOGEEK It seems a bit dead, the last dev blog update was an announcement that an update was coming, a year and a half ago, I'd suggest steering clear or contacting if you're worried about support. (Version 1.0)

ARCHAEOGEEK And when your downloads blow up because the browser crashes, you'll be annoyed, whereas if my browser crashes, I'll be glad the downloads were in get. (Version 1.02)

ARCHAEOGEEK Sets to ASCII by default, the preferences gui is broken and will reset the program back to ASCII requiring people who want proper support for, say, unicode to do /set term_charset = utf-8 on the console to get it. Ridiculous. (Version 0.8.6.4)

DAAGAAK I appreciate it was annoying, possibly not as world ending as you implied though. It is now fixed in 0.8.6.5 onwards. If you find bugs like these, please feel free to file a ticket in my trac installation at http://trac.sysctl.co.uk/macirssi/. (Version 0.8.6.6)

ARCHAEOGEEK Fairly good application, supports a good number of formats and seems to have little issues with encryption - however I consider two main issues: - Someone already mentioned it, the expectation of VLC being in /Applications instead of a subfolder. I, too, tend to be a bit obsessive about that stuff - minor quibble though. - The lack of support for ripping closed captioning tracks. It's been fairly frequent for me to find french, spanish and english DVD in Region 1 lacking them - I'm fairly fluent in all three, the big issue is that I'm Deaf, so it's not like I can seriously do without. It feels pretty ironic to have a rip of something like Through Deaf Eyes where the spoken parts are incomprehensible due to the captions being gone. Any app that rips CC and converts properly to less meaty formats than full-size DVD will get wads of users, and not just the geeky Deaf. (Version 0.9.3)

PEDRO FARDILHA Hi, just to let you know that I fully agree with you. Since I'm not from a country were English is a native language, I really need to be able to add the subtitles when converting a movie. Thankfully I just decided to give a try to the latest version and compiled it from SVN. Guess what I found there? Not only does HandBrake will support (our) subtitle needs, extracting them from DVD, but also it accepts .srt. I just did a quick test with the .srt option and it worked really well. Actually, since it properly embed the subtitles in a selectable form ("soft" burn instead of hard burn) I think this will quickly became THE app to convert movies with subtitles. (Version 0.9.3)
