ANF2RES  Although the requires for FrostWire 4.13.1.7 are stated as OS 10.3 and Java 1.4 and later, this version will not load on my computer running OS 10.3.9 and Jave 1.4.2.

Any comments?

WONDERING  It looks like it needs Java 1.5.x. (from Frostwire website, and MU has updated their reqs to show that now.)

I am not sure if Apple has issued a Java 1.5.x for Panther, I know they have issued it for Tiger.

I have always been a little mystified by the way Apple or Java or both come up with version ID: (from Apple site:) : "Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Release 3 includes version 1.5.0_05 and improves functionality of J2SE 5.0 on Mac OS X v 10.4 Tiger 10.4.2 and later. This release does not replace the existing installation of J2SE 1.4.2."

ANF2RES  Like JohnnyRocket I find that MainMenu 1.7.1 crashes under 10.3.9.

Ihave gone back to version 1.7 that works without a hitch.

ANF2RES  I have the same problem as Delmare reports on my G4 Mirrored Mac runing OS 10.3.4. I tried several TIFF and JPEG files and receive the same report, i.e. either no result returned or part of the text was missing.

I assume the "text" means the code since all of these were only graphics (icoms).

MARTIN  Hi anf2res

I've done some more testing and it appears that ResizeImage cannot determine the colour space of certain image types - and this is what causes the error.

From what I could see, this looks as if it's mostly confined to rare formats like Photoshop grayscales with layers or alpha channels, Lab and/or multichannel images.

The software was designed for people who are very unlikely to be dealing with these image types.

Fax Status
Aug 25 2004

ANF2RES  I have a G4 Mirrored?Panther 10.3.4.

The following is from the ReadMe in 0.2.1

Known Issues:

If your install of Panther is, for whatever reason, not saving fax logs to /var/log/fax/cu.modem.log, Fax Status either won't install, or won't work. This is being investigated.

I am not able to find such a file on my computer.

I am using the Fax program, FAXstf, that came with the computer as a trial, although I since registered it. The program has its own long file.

The location is:

Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > SmithMicro > Faxstf X > .FAXstf Files > Preferences > LogFile.txt

I hope this information is helpful. I suppose it is possible that people who don't have th files speciifed in the Known Issues, like me, ar using a different Fax program than the standard Apple program.
