TaskPaper
Oct 25 2007

ALEXIUS  After trying it out just for a few minutes... something kept nagging at me, until I realized that this really reminds me of VoodooPad.

http://trichech.us/?p=12#more-12

Is a GTD bridge for VP, and quite similar to taskpaper at first glance. I wonder if it can be expanded upon...

Don't get my wrong, TaskPaper looks great, but I've already paid for VP and 20 bucks is a little steep for me!

ALEXIUS  Doc infinity,

Your hyperbole is grating, buddy.

Do us all a favour and don't become a writer -- or rather, keep your writings confined to whatever program you do decide to work in.

Thanks!

ALEXIUS  Great update -- but it's creating a "limewire.props" file in my home folder that's quite annoying... help!

ALEXIUS  great program. I'm worried about being nailed on future updates. Is buying from here for 20 bucks the same as buying for 30 bucks on their website? Will it be the same upgrade policy?

ALEXIUS  I've been having trouble uploading to my server with my usual FTP programs, so far ForkLift seems to be navigating my pesky server troubles without a hitch!

Skype
May 23 2007

ALEXIUS  Eric, way to give it one star before bothering to see if it was on your end.

First of all, you may be using a beta; second of all I've used Skype tons and I can't remember it crashing on me once.

Considering you are the type to install shapeshifter, who knows what else is on there ;)

Skype

ERIC WOEHLER  Am a long-term Mac User (more than 20 years) and use Skype on laptop and desktop. NOT using beta, and skype was crashing with and without Shapeshifter.

Re-installed OS and still crashed. Highly unstable. Would crash during use. Would crash when not being used (no chats/no calls). Just sitting there with list of contacts then blammo.

One thing I have yet to learn is how to 'read' crash logs - how to decypher threads and look for clues ..

ALEXIUS  I think y'all are misunderstanding. The website says: Your license does not expire - the serial number you purchase will always work with the software available at the time of your purchase - but it only works with new versions of the software for two years after your purchase

HEY, that's better than Apple charges for their year-point-five upgrades! And hell, we paid THEM so we could beta test 10.0, .1, and .2 !!

ANONYMOUS  Ah yes, because 10.1 and 10.2 were so functionally incomplete.

They worked fine - get over yourself, or do you just enjoy complaining and taking up space?

A MARTIN  I'd say 10.2 was the first version of Mac OS X that felt more or less "proper". The other versions was above all too slow.
