AJOE Wow! This just keeps getting better and better. Every time I look at a new language or framework, I start looking to see if I need another IDE. But I pop open Coda and it does it all, and better than any of the others. One of the best software investments I have ever made! (Version 1.6)

modo | Sep 15 2008 |
AJOE I've spent the better part of the past 2 months evaluating 3d apps, but modo set the bar so high that in the end it wasn't even a contest. Beautiful GUI, great stability (Intel), exceptional learning materials and support, and a sensible license (per user, not per computer) made the decision a no-brainer. It is not cheap and the learning curve is not short, but this is an incredible tool that you won't outgrow. (Version 302)

Tiffen Dfx Digital Filter Software | Aug 23 2008 |
AJOE This is kinda crazy! The standalone version is $99 but the Aperture plugin is $299? That make the plugin $100 more than Aperture itself. Also the upgrade for the Aperture plugin is $89 regardless when you purchased v. 1. Tiffen must think we are made of money. I've been using TIffen Dfx for about 6 months and it is OK, but I think I'm stop feeding them my hard earned cash. (Version 2.0)

DxO Optics Pro | Aug 22 2008 |
AJOE I can only comment on the latest version (5.2.1), since I just tried and purchased this application, If stunning image quality and ease-of-use are your requirements, this app has no peers! I have used the lastest versions of Photoshop CS3, Aperture 2, Lightroom 2, Lightzone, and SilkyPix, but none of them can come close to the image quality produced by DxO on high quality RAW images. The organizational/database features in Dx0 are the only shortcoming. If you frequently deal with a large volume of images that need to be sorted and stored, DxO may not be the best tool, but when the ultimate image quality of each photo is the goal, this is the tool I want. AJOE Pretty nice little game, especially when put in auto-move mode so it isn't so mouse intensive. Stability is good and gameplay seems solid. Price is perfect! (Version 1.0)

FoxTrot Personal Search | Jul 29 2008 |
AJOE Wow, this is an amazing application. I have been looking for a fast local search tool that provides live previews and FoxTrot does the trick. I often have to search thousands of pages of developer references to find answers and this is the only search program I have found that is worth keeping open on my desktop. Using FoxTrot 2 on Mac OS X 10.5.4 (Intel) (Version 2.0.2)

AJOE This plug in needs better documentation to explain how to get it to work properly with RW settings. Great idea, but so far my results have been pretty poor. Would love to see it work, and would certainly buy it, but right now it is long way from prime time. (Version 0.6)

EDB Documentation is coming. Chris, the Developer, want to focus on the Plug-In itself first, and once "complete" then add the User's Guide. Chris is very receptive and responsive. You can contact him through the RW Forums. (Version 0.62)

Photomatix Pro | Nov 23 2007 |
AJOE Outstanding HDR software! Stable and easy to use, with good support and excellent documentation. I've used both Photomatix Pro and Photoshop CS3 for HDRI and Photomatix is far superior to the CS3 implementation. (Version 2.5.5b2)

AJOE I could really use this tool, but both times I've tried to merge folders the application has quit unexpectedly during the preview process. (10.5) (Version 1.1)

Fairy Treasure | Nov 4 2007 |
AJOE Excellent game and compatible with Leopard! Smooth game play, lots of levels, and great graphics. Even the demo gives you a lot of play before you have to decide if you want to buy. (Version 1.02)

FileMaker Pro | Nov 1 2007 |
AJOE I used to be a FileMaker developer, but they have long ago abandoned the small/casual user for the big companies that will automatically update every time FM announces a new version. FileMaker has gotten more bloated and less user-friendly with every recent version. There are other options, and most of them are free! (Version 9.0v2)

BUBBA Nothing special here. Shows the same information as many freeware packages. Uninstaller, found in preferences, does nothing and leaves many files on HD. Not worth $10. (Version 2.11)

BlogWave Studio for .Mac | Mar 6 2004 |
BUBBA A good start but needs improvement. No preivew, dual help menus (one of which comes up empty) and no explanation of the overall concept involved so you really have no idea how the individual entries and changes will effect the output until you publish. (Version 1.0)

AWRITER The fact that the developer has imposed the "no formatting" rule in the editor is ridiculous. It is not the developer's job to tell me how I should write. I think this rule is simply laziness on the part of the developer who then tries to justify a shortcoming in the program with the "I know what is best for you" attitude. (Version 1.0.3)

ALEXIUS The formatting is not a shortcoming - if you look on the forums, these guys had to actually WORK to take out the formatting :) It's a good, steadily improving product, but I agree that the option of formatting should be there (Version 1.0.3)
