AFD Im a HUGE transmit lover, however be forwarned if you upgrade to 3.5 and you are a bbedit user... If you open up a server file for editing you will no longer see the remote file path in BBedit. You will be shown a temporary path on your local machine to a transmit cache directory. This makes it impossible to know what file you are working on, and if you open multiple index.php's etc in different directories on a site then youre pretty much out of luck. I received an email from panic regarding the issue: That is a result of a change in the way we handle external editing. We no longer rely on BBEdit to handle any of the "file has been edited" communication, and there is no way to really "fake" the old way we used to do it. Overall, its better now the way it is, but there is that disadvantage particular to BBEdit. I've also put in an email to bare bones and the developer who got back to me wasn't aware of this in the new transmit version as he hadn't upgraded yet... It doesnt look good from panics end, and I don't have any plans of leaving bbedit thats for sure... (Version 3.5) |
