AFD  I wanted to post the same thing, its extremely slow, and I think it has something to do with that symbol feature that updates as you type in the toolbar.

I looked around to disable it but couldnt find anywhere to see if that was the prob.

Its really annoying tho, and makes it hard to get work done.

AFD  Im a HUGE transmit lover, however be forwarned if you upgrade to 3.5 and you are a bbedit user...

If you open up a server file for editing you will no longer see the remote file path in BBedit. You will be shown a temporary path on your local machine to a transmit cache directory. This makes it impossible to know what file you are working on, and if you open multiple index.php's etc in different directories on a site then youre pretty much out of luck.

I received an email from panic regarding the issue:

"Hi,

That is a result of a change in the way we handle external editing. We no longer rely on BBEdit to handle any of the "file has been edited" communication, and there is no way to really "fake" the old way we used to do it.

Overall, its better now the way it is, but there is that disadvantage particular to BBEdit.

Best,

Leslie

Panic "

I've also put in an email to bare bones and the developer who got back to me wasn't aware of this in the new transmit version as he hadn't upgraded yet...

It doesnt look good from panics end, and I don't have any plans of leaving bbedit thats for sure...

ALANR  That's exactly the way I use Transmit 99% of the time. As a layer between BBEdit and a server. Using WebDAV it's very, very fast.

But this is a killer for me. This and the lag time I mentioned in a previous comment leaves me a Transmit 3.2.1 user. The extras that come in 3.5 are trivial to me.

I tried 3.5 for a couple hours then reinstalled 3.2.1.

KAINJOW  I experienced this too when I first opened Transmit 3.5. What I believe it does now is it uses the default app that would normally open that type of program. So, for example I had a PHP page I wanted to edit in BBEdit from Transmit. By default it opened in SubEthaEdit. So I went to the Finder, selected a PHP page, Get Info'd it and changed it to open with BBEdit. Now Transmit edits the file in BBEdit like it originally did. You'll probably have to make this change for all file types that don't correctly open in BBEdit (or your favorite editor).

You apparently are using 3.5.1 and you're not addessing the issue the original poster and I had with 3.5.

The BBEdit path problem was with 3.5 and it's been fixed in 3.5.1.
