Type: CommentsDate: 30 Jun 2008 18:39I'd suggest you download the combo update for your current OS version (10.4.11 I'm assuming), and reinstall that over what you have right now. Then go ahead and run the other updates (without interruption this time, hopefully). It's worth a shot at least, and is easier than wiping the HD and doing a clean install.

Type: CommentsDate: 30 Jun 2008 18:34The "REQUIREMENTS

Type: ReviewDate: 16 May 2008 14:29Fun little game, clean and easy to pick up and play for a few moments.
Maybe it's just because I keep dying before I get high enough (73k is my highest score so far), but does something happen when you hit a certain point value? Perhaps a change in scenery? I keep waiting for something to happen.
The only way I've found to get out of the High Scores view is by hitting Return, while Return or (sometimes) a click will exit the How to Play view - might want to make that more consistent. And for some reason neither Command-H nor Command-M works, yet selecting these options from the menu does.

Type: ReviewDate: 8 May 2008 22:41Terrific application.
I'm a person that only wants a tiny icon in my menubar indicating the current temp and look, with a drop-down forecast ready at the click. This does exactly that.
Don't like the (customizable) icon in the Dock? There's an option to take it off. Don't like the (customizable) image sitting on the desktop like something that escaped off of Dashboard? It's off by default, but available if you'd want it anyhow. This app does tons more, but if you don't want more it won't get in your way.

Type: Hint/TipDate: 8 May 2008 22:30From the menubar item, select Open WeatherDock (or command-n). In the window that pops up, click the Favorites button. A drawer will slide out. Use the - button on it to remove Locations of noninterest.

Type: CommentsDate: 3 May 2008 15:45That seems to be the default behavior for many games. I haven't figured out a way around it other than to quit the apps beforehand. But perhaps using Leopard's multiple Spaces option would prevent it?

Type: Hint/TipDate: 18 Feb 2008 22:14The crashing might be due to a corrupted preference file, in which case the app itself would run just fine on everyone else's systems - making it very hard to locate and fix your problem.
Have you tried removing all old Adium items and reinstalling the latest version?
Things to remove may include:
~/Library/Application Support/Adium
~/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0
~/Library/Preferences/com.adiumX.adiumX.plist
where ~ is your Home directory.

Type: Hint/TipDate: 8 Feb 2008 21:58Actually, nevermind that. You don't need a plug-in. Apple's color picker already gives you the option to select precisely what color you want based on specific numbers.
Click on the color box to bring up Apple's color picker. Click on the second of five color view options - the one with red and green sliders. Grey Scale Slider is the default - choose either RGB or CMYK Sliders as desired, and edit the numbers to get exactly the color you wish.

Type: CommentsDate: 8 Feb 2008 11:09So, this is what Canon's website says about their scanners and Leopard:
"Drivers to support Mac OS X 10.5 will be available for the below models. Visit the Canon download site for the most up to date versions of the product's drivers and software.
4400F, 8400F, 8600F, 8800F, 9950F, LiDE 25, LiDE 35, LiDE 60, LiDE 70, LiDE 90, LiDE 500F, LiDE 600F
* Scanner models released after 2007 will be compatible unless otherwise noted.
* For scanners missing from the list above, if it was released prior to 2007, then it will not be supported in Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard."

Type: CommentsDate: 5 Feb 2008 12:20Aye, the application is quite customizable. I don't use it for brewing tea at all, but for other things like 'pizza is done' and 'get the laundry'.
Just select "Preferences..." and delete/add things as desired. Or go the "Quick Timer..." route if you're only doing a quick once kind of thing.

Type: TroubleshootingDate: 17 Nov 2007 14:31After 'caching fonts...' for awhile, it states that "Gimp-2.2 has unexpectedly quit". I've heard that this has to do with Leopard's new X11 implementation, to which a solution is posted at:

Type: TroubleshootingDate: 15 Sep 2007 10:43Don't copy the dmg. Open the dmg, and copy the application inside it over to your Applications folder.
It might be a corrupted preference file, otherwise. Dig around inside ~/Library/Preferences/ for this application's preference file, and drag it to the trash. Then try running the app again.

Type: CommentsDate: 26 Jul 2007 09:00The last time I paid for an upgrade for GC was in 2003. YEARS ago, and I've been receiving free upgrades on it until today. I won't feel bad about paying for a new upgrade now.
Maybe it does seem a bit sneaky, but I don't think it was intentional. Besides, there's nothing wrong with the way 5.x works on your machine - this isn't a forced upgrade.
If you are unsatisfied, e-mail the developer. I've always found them to be very accommodating.

Type: CommentsDate: 1 Sep 2006 10:59It shouldn't... one of their features is that you can call landlines and cell phones from your computer. However, if your network is currently busy with other things or otherwise slow, I don't think the audio quality will be too hot.
Allowing landlines and cell phones to call your computer is a different story - you'll need SkypeIn, which is a subscription service.

You start with a ball of clay. Then you twist it like taffy, play with the colors, lighting, viewpoint... just mess around with the sliders.
I'm not sure what this is useful for (thus the Value rating - it is free though!). But it certainly is different.

Type: CommentsDate: 19 Aug 2006 11:03"They" being Chronopath developers and not Delicious Monster developers, apparently. According to this blog entry by DM...
http://www.delicious-monster.com/blog/2005/01/macworld-expo-is-nigh.html
"Wil Shipley said...
There is no code shared between Chronopath Library and Delicious Library. There is no relationship between our companies. Andrew K. was a consultant on our project early on, but the code is all ours. Since Andrew is continuing to develop Chronopath Library, I think it would be incorrect to call our program an upgrade of his. We certainly didn't see any of the money you gave Andrew in the past for his software, and we in fact paid him some of our money to consult on our project, so you'll understand that we didn't feel obligated to make our upgrade price too sweet for someone else's customers."
I guess Chronopath decided to drop the ball (and its customers) on their own. Wish they would have said something...

Type: CommentsDate: 19 Aug 2006 10:19All support and development for this app was dropped when they moved on to Library 3, aka Delicious Library.
A pity, really. Library 1 was a terrific book-cataloging app. Library 2 added in support for games, DVDs and the like - it was a promising evolution of the product. But it also added bugs that continued releases just couldn't seem to squash - gone was the 'just works' feel of v1. And now they've dropped everything for their $40 Delicious Library. Thanks, but no thanks. All I wanted was something that 'just works' with the latest OS.
I suspect I'm not the only user that has second thoughts about having bought a license for now-unsupported and still-broken software.

Type: CommentsDate: 3 Aug 2006 17:18Personally, I prefer this behavior. Camino has a separate Reload and Stop button. When loading a page, the Reload button is greyed out and the Stop button is clickable. When the page is done, the Reload button becomes clickable while the Stop button greys out.
I can't tell you the number of times I've clicked on Safari's Stop button, only to have the click to not register until the page has finished being rendered - at which point the button becomes a Reload, and suddenly the browser is reloading the page I wanted it to stop loading in the first place. It was so annoying that I'd taken to using the command-period keyboard combo instead of bothering with the Stop button at all when I use Safari.

Type: CommentsDate: 17 Dec 2005 01:08You don't have to pay $20 for a game of solitaire. Certainly, there's a lot of commercial and shareware versions out there, but there's also a lot of free ones. If you want everything free, look to Linux.
His emulators are by no means crippled. They work fine with the keyboard, and you could always look into a USB game controller that comes with its own driver with configuration possibilities for inputting keyboard keypress equivalents.
I don't begrudge him the cost of these additional features. He works hard on updating a lot of emulators, and for what? A pat on the back? He charges nothing for most of them. I purchased Emulator Enhancer back when it was under $20, and I haven't looked back. It was worth it, and still is. Give credit where credit is due.

Type: CommentsDate: 9 Dec 2005 16:17Sweet stuff, good size and handy reference.
There is something that would enhance its handiness further though; the feedback when hovering over a character is great, but consider copying over the code string to the clipboard when the character is clicked on. (When in keyboard mode, copy the character itself. When in html mode, copy one of the two code strings - an option on the back of the widget could determine which.)
There's a some html codes missing, too.
