A DUDE  Still failing to launch on login. Tried deleting prefs, repairing permissions, even redownloading the app and installing on a fresh copy of the OS. A lot times just opening the prefs takes a minute of two of spinning beachballness. While I like the features and love the app when it works, it doesn't work as it should often enough to warrant more than 3 stars.

A DUDE  Cool that explains it. Thanks to both of you for answering instead of burying my question like everyone else.

ST00P!D M0NK3Y  Don't know why they're posting that as the minimum requirements. I have 13 tabs open and it's using 80MB of RAM... the app itself only takes up 50MB of space.

NEONBLUE2  It should probably be noted that Firefox 3.5 requires Tiger. In order to run Tiger you must have at least 256MB of RAM anyway.

Windows 2000, on the other hand, requires 64MB of RAM and is the Windows minimum requirement.

A DUDE  I really like this app, more than Brightness even. My only complaints are that there's no keyboard command for toggling ScreenShad, which means you have to hit opt-plus/minus multiple times, and quite often the program does not launch automatically at login despite repeated attempts to troubleshoot the issue. For some reason the option becomes deselected on its own.

A DUDE  Yeah the Intel version crashed all the time on my Core 2 Duo iMac, so I reverted to the PowerPC version which works much better. It's got its own issues though. I too will be glad to see some updates.

A DUDE  OK, I wrote that entire review without ever quitting the program. It turns out that MacIrssi forgets all your color settings and window placements, making the beautiful interface a mere glossy facade on a junk app. I have since found Colloquy to be handier than I remembered, although it forgets windows placements as well, so now I've moved on to try XChatAqua once again. So far, none of my prefs have been forgotten, although it's a bitch to set up color schemes with the terrible/non-existent labelling. I guess I resort to my belief that there are no good Mac IRC clients; only promising to downright crappy ones. What a damn shame.
