Type: CommentsDate: 22 Jan 2008 10:25It looks as if Avenir has been sold to Mariner Software.
The timeline view which has been added is an interesting feature.

Type: CommentsDate: 4 Jan 2008 17:43Found this comment from Jerry Seeger (JNW developer) :
"I was hoping that the servers for Jer's Software Hut would be stable enough that I could wait until I got back to the secret labs to find a new host, but that doesn't seem to be the case. The problem: the guy who kindly offered to host the Hut... his contact info is on the server that is currently down. Dang."

Type: CommentsDate: 2 Jan 2008 05:54He did it again, I'm afraid !
This version can't open my Mori files ; I just get a totally blank window.
I stick to 1.6.4.

Type: ReviewDate: 10 Dec 2007 10:08Simple, minimal, very useful and unobstrusive ; uses very little CPU, can record programs ...
FStream, what else ?

Type: CommentsDate: 4 Dec 2007 06:12Can anyone answer my question ,
I could not find an outline view in XMIND (as in Inspiration) where text can be edited and items rearranged.
Did I miss something ?
Thanks.

Type: CommentsDate: 27 Nov 2007 06:16I got this message from NewsGator :
"Your NewsGator Premium Subscription expires on December 14, 2007.
If you do not renew your subscription, you will not be eligible for product upgrades released after your expiration date. Also, NewsGator Go! mobile clients cannot function and FeedDemon and NewsGator Inbox will no longer synchronize without a current Premium Subscription.
One Premium Subscription entitles you to free upgrades on all the NewsGator RSS products you own.
To continue using FeedDemon, Inbox or NetNewsWire as a stand-alone client, without the added benefits of NewsGator Premium, you can revert to Free NewsGator account.
Does this mean I have to pay again to be able to get the free (!!!) next upgrade?
Ouch!

The guy who created Mori, which I bought, and then sold it to some (...) who ruined the project.

Type: ReviewDate: 20 Oct 2007 07:01Navigator is back!
I hesitated before downloading Navigator and did it for old times sake ; I'm so glad I did it!
My profile was swiftly imported from Firefox (I had the choice between all my browsers), the GUI is clean, simple, all the sites I've visited so far have been displayed without any problem, and the old icon is back!
A great joy to use and not only for old timers like me.
So far, I've been using (and not only trying) Shiira, Flock, Omniweb, Camino, Safari of course, Opera (I have given up iCab) because I love browsers (nobody is perfect) and I design and run a site.
So far, Camino, Safari and now Navigator come on top of my list.

Type: ReviewDate: 18 Oct 2007 11:00I have downloaded the trial version and ended up buying Pagico because I had started using it for the "real world" and found it incredibly useful. I still find it confusing sometimes (Difference between "activities" and "tasks") and am waiting for screencasts, but I may have finally found THE application to help me manage contacts, tasks, data ... it has tags, smart folders, a task planner, it is compatible with iCal and -soon, hopefully- will manage notes sent via email.
The develpoers are very resposive and active (An Ubuntu version appeared recently on their site).

Type: ReviewDate: 9 Sep 2007 12:11I hate Vienna!
I bought NetNewsWire and Newsfire and discovered Vienna afterwards!!! Now I don't use the readers I have bought anymore and I've swithched to the free one...It's fast, easy to configure and use, can import and export my list of suscriptions (I exported it to OmniOutliner). The builtin browser is just great and seems to be able to open any Web page and download files (which isn't the case of NetNewsWire ; I've tested quite a few pages).
Very stable. Great app.

Type: ReviewDate: 13 Feb 2007 15:29Nobody seems to care about this app. I've been using the free version for some time and, although it's limited, I get very good results.

I've been using the beta since the beginning, but this is the end of the road for me...

Type: ReviewDate: 6 Jan 2007 09:19I was lost ; I found Overflow and I was saved...
Joking, of course, but what an easy launcher. I use so many apps that I did not know how to get organized.
What I like most?
Easy to use, categories, simple, efficient.
I think it is the app I use most, second to my (numerous) browsers!
Most highly recommended.

Type: CommentsDate: 26 Nov 2006 15:39Any idea how to integrate this app with DEVONthink Pro for data storage?
![]()
Type: ReviewDate: 26 Nov 2006 15:36I have just started to use DTP seriously along with DEVONagent, and it is an incredible app.
I can store, retrieve, organize, link, view within the built-in browser, import from DEVONagent.
I was first looking for an app that could help me organize visually my notes and am still trying demos of Curio, Inspiration and Tinderbox, but I am sure I will stay with DTP for storing data.

Type: ReviewDate: 19 Nov 2006 10:57I own Omnioutliner Pro, Mori, Yojimbo, SOHO Notes, Devonthink...
I read quite a few books for my work and I use Mori for taking notes and retrieving information.
I use Omnioutliner for my writing projects and personal&- and professionnal projects.
For storing data, I'm trying hard to use DevonThink but I find it difficult to organize ; I lke the way Yojimbo and SOHO just sit there at the side of the screen.
I know DThink is much better, but I just can't feel at ease with it.

Type: ReviewDate: 8 Nov 2006 16:10I have to admit I just love Flock. in my mind, it's the most imaginative browser along with Shiira, which is very much in a beta stage and, of course, not stable enough in its last version.
What I love most about Flock : the ability to blog from the browser, to manage my Flickr account (view my photos, my contacts', etc, upload to my photostream...), the way it handles RSS feeds, the GUI which is excellent...
All in all, an EXCELLENT browser.

Type: ReviewDate: 15 Aug 2006 16:29I started using a Macintosh with MORE(Which is now available for free and still works perfectly) a very long time ago (Yes, some of us are still alive). TAO is right on that track ; not trying to look nice, like OmniOutliner, but incredibly efficient.
It's not just a powerful outliner, it's certainly a great writing tool and I advise everyone not to be put off by the appearance of the app.
If you want to be able to write, reorganize your paragraphs, "fold" and "unfold" them, keep a general view of your work, TAO is for you.
