Y-GUY Sad this once great program is now just a marketing ploy for cash. There are no features that were added over the older free version that account for charging $20. Now that I have Snow Leopard I thought I'd try it out, and I've since removed it. Not going to pay when other programs that do the same thing are free. (Version 2.0.2)

Lotus Symphony | Aug 9 2009 |
Y-GUY I picked up v1.3 back in June and been running it on my Mac as well as my XP machine at work. I really like the interface compared to OO or Neo, just has a refined clean look. I didn't care for IBM's request to register and their download process is anything but easy, but the program itself is great. I've since removed OO and Neo and only use Symphony for my Mac. Vidalin | Jul 14 2009 |
Y-GUY I was a bit skeptical at first, I've used MetaX before and it did okay. The problem there was often I was flooded with to many possible listings, however Vidalin only gave me one for each movie I tagged - and it was the right one. Nice not having to figure out which one was correct. Also MetaX often didn't place the poster art correctly and it wouldn't show up. I've tried this several times with Vidalin and the poster art worked correctly each time. I've only found one movie that it didn't find the poster art for, the rest all works fine. Vidalin worked like it was supposed to, no problems. It's a keeper. (Version 1.1)

ANONYMOUS Thanks for the great review! I'm in the process of refining the poster art section of Vidalin to be more robust in that area. Right now it should (hopefully) retrieve around 90% of all poster art, depending on the year the movie was made. I'm working to see if I can increase that percentage if at all possible. Y-GUY Yes Santa Software sold out to "Dare to be Creative" - whos motto is "We specialize in acquiring Mac applications from developers." and then charging lots of money for software they didn't develop. As said here before, $20 is to much for this utility. I have both it and Onyx and when/if I am forced to update to v2.0 I'll drop it and stick to Onyx. Seems far to many Mac Developers think their small program is worth its weight in gold. From an application that was respected freeware to $20 is just to much. (Version 2.0)

Y-GUY Great, quick little app that is priced easy on the budget. I really appreciate how Yellow Mug prices their apps to keep them realistic for what they are. Do wish the PNG files came out a bit smaller, but other then that this app does what it is supposed to do and does it easily. (Version 2.3.2)

Y-GUY Its been over a year since I picked up this app and I still find myself using it and appreciative that its quick, easy and free. I've never had it lock up or cause any problems. Having changed my folder appearances a couple of time this app made it easy to make those changes. About the only thing I wish it would do is export the image into an icon for use with CandyBar. EasyCrop | Jul 6 2009 |
Y-GUY I kept searching for a simple, easy to use cropping program. I wanted to be able to constrain crop and freehand crop. Other apps made this a multi-step complicated process (ImageWell) however EasyCrop does exactly what it says, makes it easy and fast. Some may say the interface isn't pretty, well its simple and easy to use - I don't sit for hours on end in this app, I get my photo cropped and move on. (Version 2.4.1)

Y-GUY I've had this app for a while now, works fine plenty of features to toy with, some are fairly common some a bit off the deep end. Can be confusing to figure out at times. All in all the app does what it claims to do. Try the demo out you get a good feeling for all of the features. However, I at the current rate of $50 I don't think its worth it. I bought it discounted for under $20 and now I question that price. The over pricing of some Mac shareware is amazing to me. (Version 1.0.5)

Y-GUY I'm constantly amazed at the overpricing of Mac Shareware. Might be a great piece of software, but at $25 its overpriced IMHO. Other programs like MacCleanse are a bit cheaper and appear to do more, but even MacCleanse seems over priced. (Version 4.3)

Y-GUY One more comment to share, hope the developer can address this. When scanning an external drive I could not delete single files or files that were tagged. I am assuming this works like this since the software is designed to move the file to the Trash, and an external drive it gets deleted. The only way around this was to use the reveal in finder, then to delete. (Version 1.0rc1)

Y-GUY So far so good, appears to be a fully functioning non-crippled trial for up to 30 days. I say appears as nothing on the website gives any information about this (hint hint), but so far I haven't encountered any limitations. Quickly scanned a photo folder that I knew had many duplicates; 15,115 files took 2:33 minutes to scan. Quick view allows you to visually compare the files from within the program, no need to launch Preview or something else. It displayed pics and videos that I had in those folders. Doc folder was able to display PDF, XLS and some, but not all DOC files (not sure why, might be older DOC file formats). I do question the long term value of the app, once you clean up your drive how many times will you use it, for that reason I question the price, I just seem to many set the $20 arbitrarily. Reality is that I could probably clean up my drive within 30 days, many would not bother to register once completed. If it was priced 10-14 I would probably be more inclined to register. ANONYMOUS Thank you for the positive review. There are no limitations during the trial period. After the trial ends, the convenience functionality (QuickLook, Delete All Marked) becomes disabled, but you still can scan for duplicates and delete them manually. The QuickLook functionality is the same as in Finder, so if Finder can show a preview of a file, Decloner will be able to display it as well. As for the long-term value, I use Decloner regularly myself, and it helps me free space on my disks I never knew I had. I hope other users will find it useful as well. (Version 1.0rc1)

Y-GUY This is a very nice application, but $159.95 for this is way over priced for my budget. I suppose for the serious professional its a drop in the bucket. Thankfully for me there are other options that range from $15-40 that I can afford. (Version 4.0)

BUMBLEB Which other software delivers cool, authentic film frames, creative grunge frames? For 15$ - 40$ ?? I can only find other framing software that offers cheesy frames that fit the "ohh let's also put a cartoon text bubble on grandma" which is not what a pro photographer really needs. Flipside | Oct 18 2008 |
Y-GUY I've been using Flipside for a couple months now and find it solid and reliable. Makes it easy to get into Windows when needed. I can launch the application and walk away, come back a few minutes later and XP is ready. Only have one suggestion: Loose the Yes & fast button, either Yes or No is fine Other then that this program does exactly what I wanted, to have quick way to jump to Windows.

Y-GUY Works great, I've been wanting a few custom folders and this did the trick, quick easy and most of all it just works! Even snagged the MU logo, cut it down, removed the background and applied to the folder I kept with all the software from the last MU Promo!
