XANDER  With Leopard set to come out in a few months, I'm wondering if it's worth the money. Or if the developer can promise it's customers that it will STILL go above and beyond the build in features coming to iChat...?

KASPESLA  We will be supporting Leopard. iGlasses 2.0 is being tested against each new developer beta version of 10.5.

ORION MK. V  Well iGlasses does more than just plug into iChat, so it's definitely cool for PhotoBooth and other capture apps.

XANDER  Due to legal threats from Apple to the developer, iPodDownload is no longer being distributed. And even if it was, it wouldn't work with the modern iTunes. I was a great program. But it's dead

XANDER  I love this program. I mean it's ugly, but it's usable and tough. It plays about 80% of the formats I come across.

Although, 0.8.6a seems to crash every time I try to play something. VLC has always had bugs, but this is kinda pathetic. Where's 0.8.6b already?

WONDERING  If it crashes frequently, consider sending them some details -- your system info, crash circumstances, crash reporter logs.

That will help them get the next version more stable. 8-)

VERYCARLA  Ah, so the crashiness isn't just me then. Good to know. I thought at first it just didn't like MKV files (God knows I don't like 'em much, so I couldn't blame it!) but then it started doing it with regular DivX and Xvid files too. I think it's something to do with MacOS 10.4.9, because prior to the .9 update, VLC worked flawlessly.

I think I will send the devs the crash reports. Thanks for the suggestion!

A DUDE  Yeah the Intel version crashed all the time on my Core 2 Duo iMac, so I reverted to the PowerPC version which works much better. It's got its own issues though. I too will be glad to see some updates.

XANDER  This apps interface is TOP notch... in theory. To bad they didn't back it up with ANY kind of functionality.

It's color is off, and there's not preference to change it. When you skip forward, the audio gets thrown out of sync with the video. And then it freezes up and wont respond. And I was running it on new stable hardware.

I tested it with AVI's only, it was preformed SO POORLY I didn't bother with any other format. This app needs ALOT of work before it'd be worth money. And even then I would pay maybe $5 tops. Maybe. As is, I wouldn't use it for free. In the end, it's pretty to look at, but no fun to use.

Don't bother. VLC, MPlayer, and good ol' Quicktime (with the DivX plugin) are where it's at.

WOLFEATSWORLD  well, on one point at least I believe you're wromg:

"t's color is off, and there's not preference to change it."

There is. You have to use Command + r which opens the Picture Controls, (Under the View Menu), There you will find plenty of adjustments for contrast, color, etc.

You seem to be more interested in expressing your negative personality, rather than offering constructive criticism
