VIKRAM SHARMA  This is brilliant player, this to me looks and behaves like an app that's written specially for OS X. I have a PowerMac G5, this version feels lighter than the original MPlayer 1.0 rc2. This to me is like KMPlayer of Windows for OS X, plays virtually all the formats. Thanks to the developers involved in the MPLayer OS X Extended app for their effort, no good good deed in my opinion should go unappreciated.

VIKRAM SHARMA  The release of VLC 1.0 RC4 (PPC Version) should be out soon. I don't think they ditching the PPC platform so soon. One more thing there is also a 64 Bit version of VLC (Intel) available at http://download.videolan.org/pub/testing/vlc-1.0.0-rc4/macosx/

VIKRAM SHARMA  Leopard is PPC also, so the VLC guys have posted the PPC link of the app. Most probably Leopard is he last PPC version of Mac OS, 10.6 onwards it's going to be Intel only. As for not supporting 10.4 and below, I guess it's upto the VLC guys should they choose to support the PPC platform or not, one can only do so much for free.

VIKRAM SHARMA  Thanks for the reply, I think this feature of choosing from the playlist to display codec information and video/audio statisctics is more of a bug rather than a feature. This bug/feature is only on the mac and not for windows/linux version

VIKRAM SHARMA  Everything works fine, except for Command+I function. I cannot see any information about the codecs being used, or the statistics of the video/audio being played. I am using the PowerPC version of VLC Media Player 0.92 I am running Mac OS 10.5.5. Btw the Windows version and the linux version (I am using it on Ubuntu 8.04.1 64 bit) display the codec and statistics.

VIKRAM SHAMA  This app is from a different project than http://mplayerosx.sourceforge.net , MPlayer 1.0 b8 is a project from http://mplayer.hu. So Mplayer 2 and Mplayer 1.0 beta 8 are different projects.
