USER NAME All the above shortcomings are resolved in the just released version 3.7. I wish I could call up SimpleMovieX directly within iTunes simply by highlighting a movie I want to edit (primarily to add chapter markers) and right-click. Maybe someone can write an iTunes Script for it. Oh, the "i" button still calls up a screen that show non-English characters as garbage text, although otherwise non-English meta are preserved. (Version 3.7)

USER NAME This is by far the easiest app to add Chapters to iPod compliant mp4 files. However, normally QuickTime ignores the Chapter markers if the filename is not .m4v but QuickTime strangely recognise this app's Chapters no matter the filename extension is .mp4 or .m4v. I'm not sure if that's a good thing, so I make sure I rename accordingly. One major quirk is iTunes cannot add the Album Artwork to mp4 files created by this app. I overcome it by re-exporting the file in QuickTime (using mpeg4 with "pass-thru" video & audio). The newly exported mp4 is now QuickTime compliant and supports Album Cover. Needless to say, the file extension must be .m4v for QuickTime to show the chapter selector. (Version 3.6.3)

APEMAN until then do this: open a terminal and type: Hit return and wait for the prompt to return. You can also do the periodic command with It might be a hassle, but worth doing until a Leopard compatible app is out there. Yes Onyx is out there, and very good, but I do like Applejack. USER NAME My sentiments the same. :) But I simply write a plain-text file: afp://loginname:loginpassword@192.168.123.4/Mac%20OS The plainly visible login details is a security risk but heck, I'm the only user on my computer. (Version 1.3)

USER NAME AppleJack was the *only* app I miss dearly ever since I acquired an Intel Mac in April 2006. I'm sooooo happy the wait is over! Question: Should I stick to the previous PowerPC-only version for my old Macs? (Version 1.4.3rc3)

USER NAME Unbelivably great app and it's free! I nearly give this app a miss because I'm a Mac user and reading its description bores the hell out of me. The description makes it sound like a complicated and difficult to use app. But it's easy to use. I created Chapters in my .mov within the first few minutes of using it. I wanted the chapter markers so Toast can create them "automatically" in the resulting DVD. C'mon author, re-design your web site and keep it sweet and simple. If the user is into more details, he can look it up but others will not be freighten away. I'd give it ten stars if I could. Keep up the good work!!! (Version 1.1.4)

Adobe Reader | Jun 2 2006 |
DP-G4-450GUY There's nothing "wrong" with an http download, but, despite the claims of resumable http's being stable, the fact is that ftp still is much more solid and fast. So, when available, alot of us prefer ftp. (Version 7.0.8)

Adobe Reader | Jun 2 2006 |
USER NAME Upgrade your mac; the Reader runs fast and smooth on a G4 mini! Preview is fine for jpg but pathetic on multi-pages pdf file; you can't even resize a page perfectly not to mention you can't search in Preview. I'm not a fan of this bloated app but it has its strong points. (Version 7.0.8)

THE ARCTICMAC I'm not sure what version of preview you're using... it's had searching for at least 3 years now I think (since 10.3 for sure... maybe even since 10.2), and it has as many zoom options and display options as Adobe Reader, if not more. And, while Adobe Reader performs acceptably, Preview absolutely screams in comparison. Furthermore, preview is installed with the system, as opposed to Adobe Reader which must be installed through a painful process involving downloading first a download manager, then an installer, and then installing. Come on Adobe... why not just let us download the installer in the first place. Name ONE GOOD REASON why we should even want to use your download manager. On top of all that, Preview allows easy conversion between PDF and many other formats. Preview allows text and oval annotations, as well as form filling (and subsequent saving of filled data, although it is no longer preserved as a form), things which aren't an option in Adobe Reader. USER NAME I think it's great to release a new version once a new function is added. Why wait longer especially since the download is tiny and upgrading is a simple matter of overwriting the old version? I hope by the end of the week I get to unistall iTunes' Visualizer as well. (Version 1.3.4)

ID3Mod | Feb 21 2006 |
USER NAME Sadly this app is no longer a freeware. Before you spend an hour trying to download it from the author's very slow responding site in China, here's the content of an enclosed text file "limitations of unregistered copy". Unregistered copy has no time limit, but has feature limitations: - The song table only show 12 songs each time. - You can not edit the song tag with an external editor. After you register the copy, the ID3Mod will unlock the limitations when you restart ID3Mod. It's only $19 (USD) per copy, I will send you the activation code in 4 hours. Thanks but no thanks; I'm sticking to the older version. Other than the new 12 songs limit and external editing, no other new "feature" is mentioned... so why bother upgrading? It's only $19?! GLIDER.QIM.ID3MOD The new feature is : Access iTunes Library inside ID3Mod, so you do not need to export the library XML anymore. And the new version fix the memory bug so it won't crash when load over 500 songs. (Version V42)

USER NAME Somehow I don't like it and going to stick to Volume Logic. The irritating thing is, despite a written statement in its license, an UNINSTALLER is NOT included in the down, nor an instruction on how to get rid of the add-on. That's irresponsible to say the least.
