TYLER LOCH  FLAC is supported both in and out, and Shorten should work as an input format.

Check near the end of the Users Guide for the list of supported input formats.

TYLER LOCH  The "High" and "Go Nuts" quality levels create high quality TV-resolution clips designed to also look good via the iPhone's Video-Out capabilities.

The "WiFi" (or "Standard" for iPod touch) quality level creates videos tailor-made for the iPhone screen.

TYLER LOCH  Batch processing is kinda the whole point. It should work fine.

How does it "doesn't just do them"? Do you get an error or something?

TYLER LOCH  *Better* support. "Real" is subjective, but it's certainly not full support. Nothing fully supports Matroska.

TYLER LOCH  The MP4 tab does just that.

Only the iPod tab creates non-FastStart videos in the interest of fast tagging in iTunes.

TECHSPANSION  No, seriously, re-download iSquint and the new one will work.

I recreated the entire file path and filename setup you had without problems using a copy of iSquint I downloaded right before I replied to your first message.

...even still, that error came up for you at the end of the process. The file created should still be valid.

TECHSPANSION  Actually, there were 4 test releases of 1.3 on the iSquint website and message board. 1.3test4 was deemed final.

All tests were done with MPEG-4 video, or with small H.264 videos just to test the basic functionality...none of the testers (including me) ever actually encoded a long H.264 video with the 1.3 series...

Personally, I use MPEG-4 encoding optimized for TV. Apple's H.264 support on the iPod has been disappointing.

TECHSPANSION  There was a really weird bug that popped up in long files when you use H.264 encoding. It's fixed in 1.3.1.

...I'd really like to hear what speeds you're getting now compared to earlier versions. Every test I've done on every computer I've come across has shows speed increases across the board.

TECHSPANSION  I've received two confirmations that the problem doesn't exist on the most recent iSquint.

I don't have a 60GB iPod myself, so it's not something I was able to personally test.

The trick is i'm using another open-source .mp4 muxer (mp4creator).

TECHSPANSION  I was told of a bug in the original release of iSquint 1.2 that showed up when you had spaces and/or other weird characters in a filename (stupid mistake on my part).

If you had this problem, re-downloading iSquint from this time forward will get you the fixed version.

As always, the iSquint 100% Moneyback Guarantee is in place.

TYLER LOCH  How come nobody found this out until today?

0.7 didn't like being put into a folder with a space in its name.

Download 0.7 again to get an updated version that takes that into account.

TYLER LOCH  Are you using Panther?

That's a bug I've seen show up in 3 Panther setups so far.

That's why iSquint requires 10.4 for now. Hopefully I can work around that and offer iSquint for 10.3.9 users too.

...if you're using Tiger, well, then this is a problem...

TYLER LOCH  The ReadMe explains what format is used and why.

H.264 IS the better standard in theory...but the iPod's support of it is very limited. MPEG-4 allows for larger image size on the iPod, which is important for TV playback. Not to mention MPEG-4 compression is much much faster.

H.264 support is planned for future versions of iSquint.
