MacPilot

TUPRING  I couldn't agree more! I have Tiger and Leopard on two different Drives and now I can no longer use Tiger. All I did was open up the new version and clicked on Network. I noticed that the setting "Optimize for Broadband" has been removed. I quit Mac Pilot and opened the previous version, 2.3.7 to adjust it. Big mistake! The internet immediately stopped working and I can't start up in Tiger anymore. In verbose mode it just hangs at "Socket not connected." Phuck this 5hit!

TUPRING  This doesn't work on Leopard, which I figured. Hopefully it will get updated. My Leopard Menu bar is Opaque!

Gas

TUPRING  This version 3.0 doesn't work at all. The price just spins and spins forever and never stops. On the rare occasion that it does stop, it just says N/A. I have a feeling that something has changed with gaspricewatch.com because if you go to that website, you can't get a price unless you type in a Gas Station's pyhsical address, or zoom in on a Google map and click on one. Does anybody still have the old version or know where to get it. The developer has no contact info either apparently.

TUPRING  I heard back from the developer, and found out the problem. Install the .dlta with ThemeChanger, and the Icons ARE there by default. You have to uncheck the .icns files before you click on "Apply Theme" or show the package contents and delete them.

TUPRING  I too think this theme needs to have the other varients and sunken buttons put back in. Then I will want to use it again.

TUPRING  I don't understand here. I emailed the developer and was told that it doesn't install any new icons. Then where did they come from? I had a fresh Tiger install, with only a couple programs installed so far. I go to install this Theme, the only theme and as soon as the Theme is applied with ThemeChanger, all the Finder icons are completely different. How would they not be from this then? If I run the Tiger Restore theme, the icons go back to normal, however the Restore process won't complete all the way. It appears to work still though. I redownloaded the them and it still changed the icons. Anybody know what's up with the icons being changed?

TUPRING  A very nice theme however I really prefer the default Aqua icons. These ones look gross.

Amazing Slow Downer X

TUPRING  I just noticed that Apple has once again stolen a third party idea and built it in to the OS. QuickTime Player can now do the same "Time-Stretch" without changing the pitch. No EQ feature except bass and treble, but just thought I'd point it out. It is kind of annoying for developers I'm sure, that they take all these shareware things and build them in.

KAYEL  Yeah, it's really annoying the way they keep improving their software. BTW, ASD is *way* more full-featured than just being able to stretch time.

SWORDFISH  Exactly, those who just wan't to slow down the pitch can get QT Pro and save 15$ or get Audacity and save 45$ (it's free).

PAULYD  I don't see Apple as a villain here. Time stretching/compressing and formant pitch shifting are hardly new concepts. There are lots of programs that can do it, some of which have been around for years. Besides, QuickTime Pro's time stretching sounds awful. The quality of Amazing Slow Downer's time stretching is outstanding and one of the main reasons for buying the program.

RECHID5  If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen. I mean, isn't this what capitalism is all about? ASD is great but $45 for an interface with a bunch of drop down lists and sliders tied to variables that get fed into an algorithm? I don't think so. Competition serves to inspire constant product innovations all the whlie driving prices down and so I'm all for Apple pushing developers to create the best of what they have to offer.

I do love ASD tho, especially useful when trying to learn Pink Floyd's wicked riffs.
