He is also complacent about GameRanger and I think he is just too involved, he needs to separate his work from his personal life and views. Adobe Flash Player	Aug 12 2006	THE MACDOCTOR Why make it just Universal? There is no point, plus you would get people downloading the Intel only who use PPC causing confusion. Universal binaries need to done for years to come as part of the transition to Intel. If it's Universal Binary it works on both, you needn't be concerned with file size these day (Version 9.0.20)		0

No Developer in their right mind would make money of something which was given to them free, the fact that someone has made this blocker is testiment to that. 	Jul 14 2006	THE MACDOCTOR The developer of Acquisition is breaking the law, the engine for Acquisition is based upon an open source engine, he is breaking the law by asking people to pay for it. This is a very welcome piece of software for many who use Acquisition but who are not willing to give money to the Developer who is obviously a petty criminal and thief. Mark (Version 1.0)		0

EINGEBILDET The engine underlying Acquisition is covered under GPL, last time I checked. Check your facts. GPL doesn't mean you can't sell/make money off a product it's incorporated into. It means you have to make whatever changes or improvements you make to that code freely available as source code to the rest of the open source community. GPL says you can't 'close' the source and attempt to control who has access to the code. All the OSS companies out there, like Red Hat, would be out of business if your claims were true.

The developer of Acquisition is greedy and a criminal is this understood?

No Developer in their right mind would make money of something which was given to them free, the fact that someone has made this blocker is testiment to that. The Developer constantly hounds any user of Acquisition for money he is a criminal and a thief and should be prosecuted.

Transmission	May 10 2006	THE MACDOCTOR Very nice and simple BitTorrent client, I get get comparable if not better and faster downloads with this client than with the official client, it seems to find the trackers faster and launches much faster I've now ditched the official one completely after doing some tests with Transmission. TASKMAN Tell me more about your configuration. What's the volume you are loading 7zX from called? In which folder did you copy the software?

THE MACDOCTOR It's a Quicksilver G4 running Tiger OSX 10.4.4 all the latest updates, security patches etc.

I placed the application into my downloads folder and tried to launch it, nothing happened.

Do I need to have it in a specific place, like the Applications on my boot volume?

TASKMAN No. But there may be such problems if the path to the 7zX application (like "Macintosh HD/Applications/7zX") contains exotic characters, like apostrophes.
