TEXASSTARGAZER Where's the check number field? I write checks, not useable for me without a check number field. (Version 2.0b104)

TEXASSTARGAZER Very nice looking application. I bought this app but I uninstalled it because it runs too many processes in the background. On my computer it ran 10 processes, there's no reason for that. I do use another app by this developer, NetBarrier, and it's great. (Version 10.5.10)

TEXASSTARGAZER Been looking for something like this for a long time. If you're looking for something more then the basic firewall that comes with Mac, give this one a try, I think you'll really like it. (Version 10.5.5)

CheckUp | Sep 19 2009 |
TEXASSTARGAZER I would like to update my previous review. After using Checkup for a few days I have come to the conclusion that it's too limited to be of any use. It checks sensors every second with no way to change this. It also only check a few sensors, predefined by the developer, and un-selectable by the user. I now agree with other reviewers that this app is just a pretty face and not functionally useful. A waste of $42. Hopefully the developer will give their customers some flexibility and more options in future releases. (Version 2.5.1)

TEXASSTARGAZER Very nice app, ignore the negative reviews, try it for yourself. Whatever these negative reviewers do for a living, I'm sure they get paid well for doing it. I don't understand why they expect other people to put in long hours and hard work developing a very nice app and not receive any compensation for it. (Version 2.5.1)

TEXASSTARGAZER I've contacted them as well, asking how I can re-download the software. Been 2 weeks now and haven't had any reply. (Version 7.5)

RIP0FF Agreed, except for the fact that it is, to the best of my knowledge, the only program of this kind that works directly from the menubar. Now, charging $20 for it is ludicrous. (Version 2.0.2)

Prospects | Mar 4 2009 |
TEXASSTARGAZER This is the financial app I have been waiting for ever since I started using Macs. I have tried them all before I finely ran across Prospects. It's is fantastic, and equally important, the support is fantastic as well. Prospects is loaded with all the features the other apps lack. If you are looking for a financial app, download the demo and give it a try. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Finally there's a great financial app for Mac! (Version 1.2.3)

Chessmaster 9000 | Jun 29 2008 |
TEXASSTARGAZER I purchased this Chessmaster and used it once, I then deleted from my computer and haven't used it since. Why? Because you have to keep the DVD in your computer to play, I don't intend on wearing out my DVD drive swapping DVD's and CD's. (Version 1.0.2)

GRAPHIC_INNOVATIONS Ok, I see your point about not wanting to have to use a disc. But come on... that review is a bit harsh. Don't MANY other mainstream mac games still require discs? Everything from Starcraft (in the day) to C&C Generals, Etc... Do you watch DVDs without the discs? Using your optical drive as intended certainly wont do much harm, and considering that the game most likely does not actively use the disc for play, rather for legitimate purchase verification (X-PLANE!) it hardly spins the disc up in the first place. Why not review the software on its merits and not its (simple) protection scheme? (Version 1.1.2)

MMUECK In defense of the original poster, I too don't buy software that requires this kind of protection. You could do something like 1Password - they have a jpeg picture that contains the serial number etc. embedded in it. (Version 1.1.2)

FLABROCKET I was about to buy this program until I read the comments about the DRM scheme. I have bought hundreds of shareware and commercial applications over the years, many of them very expensive, and pirated exactly none. I understand the need for copy protection from the developer's viewpoint. I use several USB dongle such as the iLok that hold multiple product licenses. I even tolerate machine-locked hard-disk or ethernet-based protection schemes, inconvenient and user-unfriendly as they are. However I would not for a moment even consider paying for a program that requires an optical disk to be present in a drive (except on very rare occasions, e.g. Propellerhead Reason) once the program has been installed. It's ridiculous. There's not even an opposing side to the argument. Ever hear of multi-tasking? Mr. Developer: your ideas about copy protection are simply wrong. They have lost you at least this one customer. (Version 1.1.2)

TEXASSTARGAZER Excellent, Excellent, Excellent!!! I've worked as a Programmer/Analyst for over 10 years and this is one of the best designed, well thought-out, applications I have seen. Hats off to the developer, GREAT job. (Version 2.1v268)

TEXASSTARGAZER I have tried every checkbook application I have found for the Mac. So far this one is the best in my opinion. Very reasonable price makes it even better. (Version 1.8.1)

TEXASSTARGAZER I have been a computer programmer for over 18 years. Support is very important consideration when purchasing any application. I would not recommend this application based on what I consider rude emails from the support personnel. If I pay $35 for an application that only defrags drives, then in my opinion it's reasonable to expect professional, courteous support. (Version 1.6.4)

TEXASSTARGAZER Why would anyone pay $150 for something when the developers don't have faith enough in their product to allow you to try it before buying it. (Version 3.0)
