TEE_TEE  It'd be nice if you send me the log file.

You can always use 1.8(no icon) though. It's the most stable one and it works with all OS X

TEE_TEE  Few complaints:

1)I think the widget is a little to big.

2)The password field should be password input not text input.

TEE_TEE  Here is another user of NuFile I heard from graphics designers.

As you may know, when you create a new file in adobe photoshop or indesign, you got a huge multi-option windows. It's great to be able to customize it. Yet, the problem is 80% of the time we choose the same option.

So, why not, instead of going through those dialog all the time and choosing the same 20 options, just right click on where you want to save it and select the template?

TEE_TEE  I think you have not answered my question about adding/removing ram to bypass the open firmware password.

I know I'm being picky here. As someone posted below that most theifs have no idea about these kinds of things. But, I think the one whom the theifs sell to might know these stuff really well.

TEE_TEE  Brilliant idea!

Just a couple questions:

1) What if the theif reset the open firmware password and reinstall the OS? or just use FWSucker to get open firmware password?

2) What if the theif just install little snitch and not letting any connections came through?

ORBICULE  Hi TeeTee,

Thanks for your great comments!

I'm not familiar with the FWSucker app and I could not find this on MacUpdate. Could you send me a link?

Installing Little Snitch requires an admin pasword, however, something the thief does not have access to.

ORBICULE  Thanks for the link. The app is only for OS 9 though. I no longer have the classic environment so I can't test it. I guess it might work when you still have classic...more and more Macs won't be able to run it though (all intel macs, for example) and even the PPC macs no longer have classic installed by default.

ORBICULE  That's still a possibility indeed but only with some models and only if the thief has a Mac OS X CD or DVD to reinstall the OS...

DCHAMMER  While there seem to be some ways of sneaking by this sort of thing... it seems to me that by the time the crook realizes it's even a problem it's already too late. (network data has been obtained...)

TEE_TEE  It just a time saver for me. Whenever I want to write something in TeX (ex: my Homework) I have to find, on my computer, the right template, which has shortcuts to all sorts of weird symbols I need, first and then copy it to the right location(generally I need two finder windows). I organize them by subjects. So, it's

two clicks to find + three seconds for my eyes searching the right template in the finder+ 2 seconds to do alt+drag

VS

1 second to right click + two seconds to find it on the list and clicking it

Thanks,

TEE  try check in activity monitor if it's already running. it's windowless and dockless. So, if you can see it interact with your double click for the firsttime only, once it's run double clicking it won't do anything :)

Thanks

Tee
