SZABESZ A HUGE time saver everyone should have it installed on their Mac! Do not forget to check out the site of the developer. Thank you Dev! :) (Version 1.2)

Adobe AIR | May 28 2008 |
SZABESZ "So, it is a development system?" No, it is not. It is a runtime environment like one Java has, and needs to be installed in order to run applications developed for it. "There aren't enough development systems in the world?" Yes, you are right. There aren't enough development systems in the world. Period. "Why do I want to run on the Adobe servers?" Obviously you don't want, and you don't have to. Except for de download time of the installed package. "If I loose internet connection I'm down, instantaneously? Sounds like back to "Save Often or loose it all!" " In this case, you miss the point. It has nothing to do with continuos internet connection. (Version 1.0.1)

Adobe Flash Player | Dec 4 2007 |
SZABESZ The name "Player" is misleading. It is not a player but a Virtual Machine. Developers(?) create applications for it (SWF). The way you create your code can have a great impact on performance. Lots of the SWF creators simply do not know how to write efficient code so their SWFs demand a lot of CPU power. It is not just Adobe's fault. Adobe has done a lot to boost the performance by introducing VM2 together with ActionScript 3. Developers should do their best to implement speed optimized codes/SWFs, preferably developing for the new VM. (Which has for example H.264 video support, so you can imagine how powerful it is really...) (Version 9.0.115)

SZABESZ New version, wow! I do like it. Thank you for the efforts, this is great a application, an essential tool to examine what is going under the hood. Feature request: it would be cool to be able to save the data fseventer gathers. Keep up the good work! (Version 2.0)

Spotlaser | Mar 7 2007 |
SZABESZ It is shame that Apple was unable to create a usable Spotlight interface in Tiger! Apple has created three different interfaces for the same feature: search. I cannot explain the frustration I get using any of Apple's interfaces. Each one is horrible! (BTW: and why three?) Now enter Spotlaser! It has only one interface, but this one is superior to Apple's one. Spotlaser does not treat me like an idiot, whereas Apple's interfaces do so. You CAN search with Spotlaser... (Version 1.3.1)

SZABESZ Hi. Could someone tell what I should do to get this thing working? I get the following error message: "... failed to load required plugin 7za-osx-ppc". I find no information about installing this plugin. No help for the program, no web site, nothing. Ok, this is freeware, so I cannot complain. But why releasing it without any help on usage? LEO KUZNETSOV Apologies for those who experienced cannot download plugin error. Our update server was down. If you just restart the application it should update itself. Detailed explanation can be found in FAQ section of http://www.zipeg.com (Version 1.2.2)

Opera | Apr 25 2006 |
SZABESZ This IS the fastest, I can tell you. I am on an aging 800MHz iMac, I know what a fast application means. This IS the fastest. I have tested it on complex and very long HTML pages. It renders them much faster, a lot faster than al the others. And it even CAN pause the Flash plug-in. Other browsers, including Safari, keep running swf files even after hiding them, consuming a lot of processor power. My 800MHz iMac keeps struggling with other browsers. But this is not the case with Opera. I hide Opera, and I get back my processor. It is simple as that. This is the fastest. Thank you for the developers. (And the e-mail client seems to be promising too. I have just started to evaluate it) (Version 9.0b1)

AppZapper | Mar 10 2006 |
SZABESZ "AppZapper takes a programmatic approach -- potentially imperfect" I think this is the case, as reported by others. You cannot find installed files without registering them during the install or right after the install process. Of course you can write algorithms to hunt for them, but it cannot be perfect. Uninstaller is slow of course because on the seer number of files an OS X volume can contain. And taking snapshots is the user's responsibility of course. But this can at least find all the files installed in case it is user properly. (How are you going to delete with AppZapper the kernel xtension installed by Virtual PC, for example?) Somebody should combine "fseventer" and "Uninstaller" and Mac users would get a fast solution. I wish I had time to develop that..... (Version 1.1.4)

AppZapper | Mar 1 2006 |
SZABESZ Anyone seriously trying to remove all that installed stuff should use Uninstaller instead... AppZapper will obviously fail doing that properly, because of its concept of doing it. (Version 1.1.3)

AAH Can you explain this comment? Uninstaller seems to take the "snapshot now, install, snapshot then" approach -- anything changed between snapshots is obviously new. What it will obviously miss is anything changed after the second snapshot -- and if it doesn't actually *do* a second snapshot, you're in even worse luck, since every change since the initial installation is marked as a new file (correct me if I'm wrong, please). AppZapper takes a programmatic approach -- potentially imperfect, but also potentially perfect, and in either case *much* faster than the Uninstaller approach. (Version 1.1.4)

iRepair | Feb 16 2006 |
SZABESZ I think the name "iRepair" is very misleading to say the least. As far as I can see this app is for setting ownership and permissions. That is cool, and I even like it more than BatchMod. But why "iRepair"? I can easily brake the whole system with it by setting wrong owners and percussions randomly..... That act would certainly have nothing to do with "repair". Otherwise thank you for making it free. (Version 1.0.1)

SZABESZ It deserves 5 stars just for the effort itself! Thank you! Please keep up the good work and add a "reveal in Finder" feature which is a must I think. (I cannot really explain how much I hate Apple's Spotlight interface, which is the worst thing they have ever "invented", because it is far from being userfriendly. Why do they suppose that I want to search in "everything"? Why do they suppose that I want to replace my active(!!!) Finder window with a search interface???????? This is so micro$oft like. These are the things why we do hate the interface of windows....) (Version 0.9)

Microsoft Expression Media | Feb 8 2006 |
SZABESZ I agree. Usual upgrade policies allow upgrading from not just the last major version but from the one before. This is true for example for Adobe and micro$oft. Charging full price in this case is a horrible policy. Keeps me away from ever purchasing this product. Thank you for the info. (Version 3.0.2)

Service Scrubber | Dec 22 2005 |
SZABESZ Seems to be working on 10.3.9, but there is a small interface glitch. The "Service Providers" text on the left side is overwritten with the first service. So they occupy the same place. (Version 1.1)
