ROTH After reading your issue, I went through some tests and could not get it to reproduce. The expected behavior is as follows: 1) If you change the name of a category, all transactions (including splits) are updated with the new name. 2) If you delete a subcategory, all transactions will be updated (including splits) with the name of its group category. 3) If you delete a group category, all transactions (including splits) will be updated and the category will be assigned "Not categorized". All tests pass. Only two options: 1) You deleted the category first, and then created a new one, thinking this the same as editing. 2) You have a special corner case which I do not have a test for.
