STREPHON KAPLAN-WILLIAMS  Real Player 11 for Mac keeps or enhances my Flip Ultra videos so my video is sharp.

Editing flip Ultra videos in my iMovie 2006 results in a blurry video run. Thus I lose quality of the original Flip video.

iMovie is Quick Time, as I understand it, so Real Player 11 is now better than Quick Time for showing your videos, at least for Flip Ultra videos!

This may be major. Still exploring.

Now I need to improve my editor, which is currently iMovie 2006 for my mac, since iMovie reduces quality of my flip ultra videos, or Real Player enhances them, or at least shows the Flip videos in the fully quality they were originally taken in.

There seems to be no way to edit or export videos from Real Player 11 with the quality they show in in Real Player.

THREEDEE912  iMovie saves CPU usage and RAM by showing you a lower quality preview in the player window, as trying to live-preview full-quality DV files would take up much more resources. When you export your video (to QuickTime, iDVD, or whatever), it should appear fine.

You should see good quality video when playing the file in the actual QuickTime player.

WriteItNow

STREPHON KAPLAN-WILLIAMS  WriteItNow is the best writer's organizing software out there for Mac or PC users.

Version 3 has been criticized a bit for not being Mac-like, but its functions are not hard to get used to. It's only the visual interface that may be a bit difficult for Mac users. Bite the bullet and get going, is what I suggest, since there is no other writing software out there that is effective like WriteItNow.

Version 3 of WriteItNow is terrific as it is, and well worth getting going on now organizing or reorganizing your novel or other writing projects with. I have already used WIN 3 to write my whole book of 92,000 words, The Writer's Interface, on WIN 3. It's stable and a blessing to keep you organized, especially if you are an intuitive writer like I am.

I am using WriteItNow to completely revise my 100,000 word novel I completed two years ago when I did not know about WIN and had not written yet The Writer's Interface for it.

WriteItNow helps you organize by key folders called: Chapters, Characters, Events, Places, Ideas and Notes.

These folders are all shown on the best tree outline of them all in the left column. The pages in each folder are listed by titles you give them. You click on a title in the tree and go right to your page.

No other software I know of gives the writer this organizing ability to go with a single click from a tree list of folders and pages to any page anywhere.

You also have easy cross-linking that works with little mini menus to choose from.

This is also great, for it means that you as a writer organizing your writing can go quickly anywhere in your text devisions, like chapters, events, characters, and whatever you use the Notes and Ideas folders for.

WIN has also graphs that show your timeline of events. You have a timeline with calendar functions to date any of your events according to your storyline.

And WIN is mostly stable. You don't lose text. You don't see in WIN formatted finished text, just good basic text of your font choice. You export to a Word Processor, like Word for formatted pages. The Print Menu gives you a lot of options in what you print, including the ability to print only one of your pages.

The reason for my creating The Writer's Interface is that all writing software, including WIN, lacks the full collection of hundreds of writing craft tools and structures. I give this missing information in the WIN file of The Writer's Interface. This is the collection of tools and ideas I use myself.

I'm not biased towards WriteItNow because I sell at a reasonable download price, The Writer's Interface to go with it. It's the other way around. Because WIN is so good for organizing and writing a novel I added to it a writer's interface of hundreds of writing craft tools.

I am the inventer of writing full software interfaces to use the software at eighty percent capacity, instead of the normal thirty percent, and also to give the end user the writing craft tools they truly need in writing a novel.

Seems that software has gotten complicated these days and so experts are needed to give end users interactively the tools they need in an interface to produce effective end product using the software.

You can get demos of both WriteItNow and The Writer's Interface by following the links at his site: www.ravensheadservices.com.

Writers need the best tools they can get in using today's modern computers. Give these products a try. Ratings by stars simply is not possible because there are so few writing software products out there. This is a niche field.

STREPHON KAPLAN-WILLIAMS  WriteItNow is the best writer's organizing software out there for Mac or PC users.

True, version 3 is not Mac-like, but its functions are not hard to get used to. Version 4 coming up will have major improvements.

I know WriteItNow myself as a well-published writer using it for my own novel.

WriteItNow helps you organize by key folders called: Chapters, Characters, Events, Places, Ideas and Notes.

These folders are all shown on the best tree outline of them all in the left column. The pages in each folder are listed by titles you give them. You click on a title in the tree and go right to your page.

The Print Menu gives you a lot of options in what you print, including the ability to print only one of your pages.

WriteItNow helped me so much in organizing my novel that I wrote a writer's interface to it of 92,000 words. So I have studied and used this software thoroughly.

The reason for my creating The Writer's Interface is that all writing software, including WIN, lacks the full collection of hundreds of writing craft tools and structures. I give this missing information in the WIN file of The Writer's Interface. This is the collection of tools and ideas I use myself.

WriteItNow will only get better. The software engineer has been quite receptive to my improvement ideas for better serving writers. We all await his Version 4 of WriteItNow.
