The application is free. You need a key which as it says is free.

There is no motion detection in this release of MMM, if the demand is there a future release is likely to feature this ability.

Cheers

STEVE CHOLERTON  Thanks for that idea. That could work. I may implement something similar in a future version.

The way it is designed at the moment is that you set the Stealth version of MonitorMyMac to start when the computer starts. If you are the legit user you will just terminate the application. If the computer is then stolen the first time it is restarted MMM starts recording ...

BLABLABLA@DODGIT.COM  If you're using this software to recover a stolen computer, there's a downside. You don't really want the computer taking pictures and screenshots while you, (the legitimate owner) are using it. You only want ti doing that when it's stolen.

Perhaps you could have the program run in idle mode. All it does in idle mode is check an FTP server at some user-determined interval. When it logs in, it looks for a file called "stolen" in the directory. If it finds one, then it goes into picture taking / screenshot taking mode.

Just an idea.

REALbasic Syntax Highlighter

STEVE CHOLERTON  Utter Rubbish.

My Syntax Highlighter is NOTHING to do with anything from Alex Resrepo's code. I am willing to submit the source code to a trusted third party to validate my point - are you willing to write a public apology when proven wrong ?

REALbasic Starter Kit
Jun 1 2009

STEVE CHOLERTON  Your explanation of some of the functions from the Starter kit is evidence for why the kit is useful for beginners, I'm sure they will find it easier to use then your code. But that's your opinion - which is fine.

As for the rest of your comments ...

There is NO MBS functions in the Starter Kit, you should check your facts before opening your mouth.

My Syntax Highlighter is NOTHING to do with anything from Alex Resrepo's code. I am willing to submit the source code to a trusted third party to validate my point - are you willing to write a public apology when proven wrong ?

As for the fact that you are speaking for the 'REALbasic Community' (there is suspicion within the RB Community - your words) - I'm sure the RB Community could do better than you as a representative - if not then it's a community I want no part of.

So, Markus Winter - are you willing to back up your claim regarding my 'repackaging of other peoples code' - I await your response.

STEVE CHOLERTON  XENOPHILE: That's a jaded attitude ! There are many many good reasons for a bulk email program that have *nothing* to do with spam. In addition, You cannot add spam to spam, the original email is either spam or it isn't - an extra 2 lines of advertising make no difference to that !

STEVE CHOLERTON  Hi Greg.

I'm not sure I if you are being tongue in cheek or not - you paid $229 for Excel, $299 for Filemaker, $299 for Panorama, $125 for BBedit and $399 for Dreamweaver and you wouldn't pay $80 for something to make this easier and waste less 'irreplaceable time' ?

Either way - you make a good sales pitch for R10Clean :-)

STEVE CHOLERTON  This is a 1.0.0 release designed for small businesses doing newsletters or other marketing activities to their customers, suppliers or prospects. It is not designed, or priced, to take on the bigger players in this market.

We do however wish to hear your feedback, whether for features or problems. - Steve

STEVE CHOLERTON  Thanks for taking the time to write your review.

I'll answer each of your points in turn:

Import from address book is a good idea, that will be implemented shortly.

Timed Sending - for sending huge lists then that would be useful - I've personally not run into these restrictions myself - but I am sending 100's rather than thousands of messages.

It is possible to choose the email account. The 'Email from' field tells the program to use the correct SMTP server when sending.

Validation of email addresses - I agree that would potentially be useful for some people I am sure.

I suspect the sofwware is not aimed for your market. This is aimed at companies and small businesses who wish to communicate with their customers, suppliers etc. I agree it is not ideal if you are in the business of doing huge bulk mails often. In that case a more (expensive) and sophisticated package would be preferable.

This is a 1.0.0 though. So watch this space :-)

STEVE CHOLERTON  For PERSON1229. This software is not Rot10. You can 'decode' Rot10 in your head, you don't need a computer program! R10Decrypt decodes the Blowfish ciphers created by R10Cipher, my commercial product. It is 12 Mb because it is Universal Binary and also Cross Platform, Windows and Linux as well as Mac. Please understand what the program is before 'reviewing'. It doesn't make you look clever.

STEVE CHOLERTON  To PALADINO. What has the 'financial collapse' - your words - got to do with the pricing of niche business software ? If it's suits your purpose, $80 is fine, if it doesn't then why should you care ? Far from being ridiculous, I am running a business which needs to make money money - or your 'rampant unemployment' becomes worse. I don't go around publicly denouncing Sunseeker because the price of their $100,000,000 yachts are ridiculous. If I want a Sunseeker and I have $100,000,000 then I'll buy one. I don't and I haven't by the way :-) Software cannot all be free - there is a cost to production that has to be met. Is MS Office ridiculous because it costs several $100 when Open Office is free ? Live and Let Live - Peace
