STEFANO CECERE  agree 100%

these top tabs are ugly and hard to see

i appreciate they tried to give us more vertical space.. but i think this is not the way (maybe it was better a lateral vertical column

Billings
Dec 7 2008

STEFANO CECERE  after about 2 years of Billings 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0 (helped also ith lots of bug reporting) i jumped with much happiness to the GrandTotal + TimeLog combo!

very much more intuitive to use and powerful (i'm sorry but Billing's reports are quite unusable, and i spent too many days trying to study their design instruments.. very powerful but TOO MUCH complicated for non cocoa developers... then there are really simple UI design bugs that haven't been fixed yet for too much time)

Sorry Marketcircle..

ciao

STEFANO CECERE  after several years of trying (filemaker solutions, Studiometry, iBiz, Billings, and all other smal/medium biz invoice/time tracking apps) i finally found something i like and trust!

the app is still missing some features (compared to Studiometry, for example, like project management), but the developer is really active and doesn't release buggy software, he seems to know really well OSX (both UI and code)

i jumped into GranTotal+TimeLog combo.. and am really satisfied..

TimeLog

STEFANO CECERE  i bought the combo timelog + grantotal a few days ago...

i started with my custom Filemaker many years ago, then moved to Studiometry (but it was and it still is, at 6.0, not really user firendly.. and bugs like to live within it :)

then looked for all alternatives.. and chose Billings 3.0 (for time logging) and my Filemaker for invoicing (Billings invoicing is powerful but really complicated... and reports are a nightmare)... then i discovered GranTotal: IT'S HEAVEN!!!

i also started usign TimeLog, and it's far ahead its competitors...

i had some chat with the developer some days ago.. he is really interested in making these app something that OSX (and 2008 digital workers) deserve!!

the future looks brighter :)

5 stars!

STEFANO CECERE  i really needed to organize hundreads of passwords and licences...

today was the day.. i was suggested 1Password.

tried it, imported my Safari and Firefox passwords..

tried with a dozen websites.. GREAT!!! i bought it in a few hours

1Password is very easy to use and integrates perfecly with both Safari and FF.. and now i can share the PW between them!

also the pw generator is great.

i use it also for the software licences (using the "secure notes")

well... i think that if you are starting to "live" in the web.. this app is a must!

Studiometry
Oct 12 2008

STEFANO CECERE  i used Studiometry 4.0.. it was the one that had the basic features i needed... but it was too buggy and UI wasn't very good...

i didn't upgrade to 5 since it didn't fix any of the basic things i needed, while i moved to Billings+Filemaker.

i'm not totally satisfied with them, so i keep coming back to studiometry..

tried 6.0 but i still found many bugs and UI headaches!!!

(yes i noticed the vertical price bumb.. but it would not be a problem since i use it for work...)

my conclusion: OS X still misses a good integrated time tracker/invoincing/project manager for freelancers/small companies

it is strange, isn't it?

TIM27  For the price of this software you could try Creative Manager Pro or even the free Creative Pro Office. They are both web based.
