Type: CommentsDate: 2 Apr 2008 00:44This is some kind of April Fool's Day joke, right? Does anyone actually USE AOL anymore?! I guess I can see why some folks still pay to hang on to their e-mail address they've had for so long. But does anyone use AOL as a way to "get on the Internet?" Geez, I hope not.

Type: ReviewDate: 28 Feb 2008 23:49Starting with version 3.1 this program has the ability to enable the directional and Ins/Del keys on the numeric keypad (of a PC-type keyboard), as well as PC-style Home and End keys. So if you are using a PC-style keyboard (for example, with a Mac Mini) and when working on a PC you never set NumLock on the numeric keypad, now you can have the operation you are accustomed to. Personally this was my #1 irritation with the Mac Mini (normally the numeric keypad generates numbers only, and the NumLock key is disabled), and this software restored the operation I was familiar with. The program has worked flawlessly for me, but you do need to make sure that no other keyboard modification programs are installed, or you might get conflicts that render your keyboard unusable until you uninstall one or the other. So if you have DoubleCommand or some similar keyboard mod software installed, make sure you uninstall it prior to installing this software.

Type: ReviewDate: 26 Feb 2008 19:18I have 10.5.2 running on a G4 800 MHz. I only had to log out and back in for it to work which was surprising to me… And even more surprising was Silk gave me my transparent menu bar back that Apple took away with 9A581 because of no Core Image support. So the mystery of "Core Image: Software" instead of "Core Image: Not supported"in Apple System Profiler has finally been solved! Thank you Unsanity! Now get working on the Custom Window Shadows option for 4.2 Final…

Type: ReviewDate: 20 Feb 2008 19:23Hey - not sure what the other guys are talking about. I run on a last-get MacBook (1.2Ghz) and it runs fine. Large images, small images, no probs. Also, the color picker is the standard Apple color picker, which indeed lets you specify exact RGB values, check the other tabs. No, there is no CMYK support in this app, but oh well, it's a great value.

Type: ReviewDate: 12 Jan 2008 00:21Although a heavy computer user I am minimalist when it comes to add-on apps and I have to be really impressed to even install.
The ease of use and seamless integration into .mac (or any other online storage) makes this a must have. FileChute is among the first apps I install on a new system. It makes file sharing with others almost effortless, not only for me but the person receiving the life as well.
With FileChute you will never again hesitate to share large files and will never again have to email anything large. (No ones likes getting big files via email). The fact that the app even allows you to auto delete old files that you have uploaded is just icing on the cake.
Well done guys, well done.

Type: ReviewDate: 5 Jan 2008 13:01Nice software, easy to use, can't argue with the price. Kudos for including the Delivery point digits in the POSTNET bar code. BTW, I checked bar codes for several envelopes I printed and they were all correct, (I've seen errors on other software!)
However, it is missing one very important element: FIM-A. What's "FIM-A" you ask? Go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Facing_Identification_Mark

> First time we've ever been able to download

> (Version 4.9.01.0100)
It's not the first time. Look under RELATED LINKS above and you'll find
http://www.arrange.co.at/download/vpnclient-darwin-4.9.01.0090-universal-k9-BETA.dmg
http://www.cperi.forth.gr/service_mans/vpnclient/MacOS/vpnclient-darwin-4.9.01.0080-universal-k9.dmg
http://us.fsu.edu/vpn/software/vpnclient-darwin-4.9.00.0050-universal-k9.dmg
However your observation still raises an interesting question I believe. Can we trust a Cisco VPN client that is not obtained directly from Cisco especially given what's at stake - the security of the entire corporate network behind the firewall?
It's my understanding that Cisco don't condone any public third party like this. In fact, I think the hosts may be violating their software license. Cisco themselves are very controlled in their release and only permit download to registered users who have a Cisco Connection Online (CCO) login. See www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/vpnclient-3des
What do others think? Do you trust these other sources that MacUpdate, Softpedia and others link to? Or do you prefer to wait until your sysadmin gets it from the source?

Type: CommentsDate: 28 Oct 2007 06:49Works great for me with my Radeon 9200. I bought a hacked one from eBay that has newer firmware than the one that is installed from the ATI software, basically PC version for Mac and it was permanently over-clocked and so is the RAM on it. By using this little gem, I successfully got rid of all the random little dots on the screen that moved around by lowering the speed of the VRAM by 10%.

Type: TroubleshootingDate: 3 Oct 2007 00:28I have the same problem on my G4, except all the pages have the scrollbar. The effect you see when you scroll is (for me) like a page getting wet and the ink smears. The more you scroll, the worse it gets. It went straight to the Trash. Plus, what is the point of the new scroll bars for each page anyway… The scroll bar that's always been there works great.

Type: CommentsDate: 17 Jul 2007 04:51if someone was thinking of mentioning "The Unarchiver" then dont. i mean it is a fine piece of software, but really... people should stop using stuffit products.

Type: ReviewDate: 17 Jul 2007 04:09i have been using alunch on a computer at work for a while (the computer had stuffit expander, so i was able to extract alunch from the sitx archive). it really is the best menubar launcher for os x, really. you can launch any type of file on your system and have full control over the categorization of the files/applications you decide to place in the menu bar. meaning, if you have oh say, over 150 applications, you do not have to scroll up and down a huge drop-down menu to get to your chosen file, you just arrange your categories/folders in alunch in the most efficient way desired. the only thing that stops me [and a whole lot of others] from using it on there machines at home, is that alunch is distributed as a .sitx archive. most people stopped using stuffit products a long time ago, for good reason (they are bloated pieces of shareware rubbish) and there is no way on earth most people are going to install an extra compression/ decompression utility solely for the purpose of unzipping one application. if the author changed from sitx to zip, bz2 or just a plain dmg, i am certain there would be a much larger and more satisfied user base. until then i will have to stick with himmelbar on my mac at home. i am just letting the developer know that this is a fantastic piece of software, but he is really limiting his potential user-base by sticking to the sitx format. otherwise, from the amount of time i have spent using it at work, i can say this is simply the best menubar launcher out there. please, change to a different compression format.

Type: TroubleshootingDate: 4 Jul 2007 01:07Do you have NetBarrier installed? If so, it is the Banner Filter causing the problem and you must turn it off or the download won't start. There are several programs that have the same problem from my experience…

Type: TroubleshootingDate: 2 Jul 2007 05:28After the initial update to 10.4.10 breaking UNO, iTunes shouldn't have been effected. For me, iTunes was still UNO but the OS itself wasn't. So I backed up my iTunes.app first before doing the tip I suggested. Sorry if you didn't do that first, now you know. Anyway, I have been doing this for awhile so it just comes natural for me to archive iTunes and QuickTime Player everytime new versions are released simply because I have always modified them and learned the hard way once… I even have it (mostly) working in iTunes 7.3… Some of the resources were changed/moved around for this version and also the scroll bar looks as if it's now Hard-Coded as well as the LCD EQ and selection colors so that's the only parts that don't work for me right now. Resorcerer is your friend…

Type: TroubleshootingDate: 26 Jun 2007 07:41UNO still works and stays installed if you update from 10.4.9 via Software Update. However for those of you who used the Combo Updater and had UNO break as a result, here is the workaround until the next update. Just navigate to /System/Library/CoreServices/ and open up "SystemVersion.plist" and change the "SystemVersion" string from 10.4.10 to 10.4.9 and save the file. Then open up UNO and install it like before. Now just change the .plist file back to the way it was…

Type: CommentsDate: 3 May 2007 14:24Why should we update at all? There are exactly zero version notes.
LaCie does not inform at all what the update does, what it fixes, or what it actually changes at all.
All there is is the meaningless comment "Adds the latest firmware support for d2 and Design by F.A. Porsche drives with FireWire 400 and 800 and/or USB 2.0 interface." Well yeah, thanks for nothing. Obviously an updater updates. D'uh.
But what the hell does it really do? What is improved/changed/etc. Unless I know that I see no reason why I should go through the trouble and risk losing my 250 GB of backed up data.
This is a mistake a professional developer or a serious company shouldn't make. My next drive will certainly not be a LaCie.

Type: CommentsDate: 4 Jul 2006 10:17I'm not saying this application is usless, but you can just drag the file as you normaly would, but before you let go of the mouse button, click the apple button, then let go of the mouse button while holding down the apple button on your keyboard. This will move the file, aka, "cut & paste".
