SPMAC  A day or two? Perhaps for some of it, but not for the encryption implementation (especially the bitlevel) and, not for other aspects, if it was implemented properly.

Your guesstimate is questionable, and highly presumptuous, to say the least.

That said, I do believe his system needs something to differentiate itself from other commercially and in-house available solutions, as you are right on the money with regard to the workarounds.

SPMAC  While I like and greatly appreciate Perian, it by *no* means handles actual Divx files as quickly and efficiently as the DIVX codecs do. However, for something totally free, it's certainly much more than adequate to the task.

I DO wish that word had gotten around to more Mac users this past Christmas, when Divx, Inc. was giving *free* Mac Divx Pro licenses out!
