Sorry to say but I have no idea what the person below me is talking about.

I launched the download, and it asked for a license key.

Wow, an open file dialog box, great interface !

Like I haven't seen that a thousand times this week

The only thing is missing additional pages for the clipboard so we can have more items allowed.

But this is far better than some of the other ones , I really like the ability to ignore my copying and pasting and just drag items into it that I really want to keep there.

Very cool, great job!

This program is a joke isn't it?

Where is the customization of which caches and logs you want cleared?

Not only does this program lack any control but lacks anything other free alternatives can do better!

Sorry but even if St. Andrews Software paid me $20, I wouldn't use this garbage.

Its too bad the ratings have to be a minimum of 1. This program deserves a rating of 0.

First , learn how to spell kid and second get a clue.

OSX does NOT defragment large files. Period

iDefrag works, your brain doesn't!

Things never change, same boneheads claim its nots needed.

Get this through your thick skulls, OSX will only defragment small files , those of use with larger files there is no other program that comes close to the excellent job iDefrag does.

Not to mention it speeds up my boot time every month I use it.

Now for the demo comment, I guess someone at Coriolis should be emailed about the 1.6.4 demo. It is kind of silly to display a dusty version instead of the current release :)

But for those us that use iDefrag, I wouldn't waste my time with other options or ignore the option to defrag. Makes my Mac happy and fast, and that makes me happy.

There ya go, who cares about 5+ year old games and why should any company like Apple.

I sure wouldn't.

Why not complain to Blizzard, its not Apple's problem that Blizzard won't get off their asses and create a patch for it. For Diablo and Starcraft anyways.

All developers have the opportunity to beta test each new OSX and update, the onus for compatibility is on the developer's, not Apple.

That long winded warning below about Adobe files getting corrupted when copied over the network has been fixed.

The whiners about 3rd party applications and games should be bitching at the developers not Apple. They all had a chance to test and resolved any issues long ago with the developer seeds of any OSX version

Nuf said.

I had zero problems with the update, Safari seems a tad bit quicker, other than that it went smoothly.

I don't what rock buddy crawled out from under to claim there is a FREE alternative to this, there are none, I checked all the freebies out.

This is the only one that offers such high quality audio and visual looped screensavers.

I was hooked the first time I tried the older version and this just gets better each major version jump.

If you think the price is too much then collect some more cans and bottles kiddies, its worth supporting a good developer.

And yes I do agree with one post below, an updater would be nice instead of the massive download each time an update is out :(

2 Things turned me off this software.

1 - Machine specific licensing sucks, I go through machines like some people go through shoes. I'm not paying for a new license for each machine upgrade I do.

2 - The software is too unpredictable. Works on some file types and does nothing with the other half.

WTH is with the constant unknown updates and the crazy dates instead of some version number?

Unless you are very desperate or like to throw your money away, find another program.

The comments below are still valid today!

Its June 2008 and the developer's release a PowerPC program.

The GUI looks like a direct port from windows, ugly and awkward.

Pathetic

Transmission - Excellent for beginners

xtorret - Also excellent for beginners but for a fee

LimeWire - Good for leechers but not beginners

Vuze or Azureus - Without a doubt the ugliest of the lot, but who cares. Once you figure out how to tweak it, nothing compares to its speed and features.

Vuze 3.1 rocks with the new torrent search feature that has been around for a while in xtorrent.

My only complaint about Vuze 3.1 was the lack of being able to import my preferences from Azureus.

The best there is of all the clients.

BUT

I have a suggestion for a future feature.

Is there any way to implement a rotating random port from 6881-65255 ??? Or any user selectable range?

I am using a Bad ISP that will block ports and my only choice is to manually change it when it happens.

Anyone know if a plug-in does this too?

Looks like the OSX 10.5.3 update broke something with Parallels Desktop 3.0.5600.

When I leave my windows or programs open in Parallels Desktop they start flashing like crazy. Happens when I switch from Parallels Desktop to any Mac program or the Finder and switch back to Parallels Desktop. Basically if anything overlaps Parallels Desktop's window it goes nuts when I switch back to it.

Temporary fix : Resize the Parallels Desktop window or switch from full screen to window and back.

Amazing gem for anyone converting videos !!!

Works very well 99% of the time.

Still seems to be a minor issue when converting to DVD, the DVD's skip or have pixelated stutters on desktop players, but not on the Mac. Been doing that for quite a revisions now too.

Works fine for me. Been running Windows XP since Desktop Parallels was still in Beta stages.

This is far more convieniant than Boot Camp for me and far more stable than the alternatives.

I'm also not using any funky hardware from the windows side, so I have no issues with network or wireless, since its all done through my iMac's hardware. Shared network or wireless both work fine with Parallels.

And the SP3 update went smoothly too. No problems.

I love all the negative feed back from the nay sayers. The clueless never cease with their tripe.

RealBasic is fun to program with once you get the knack of it.

Its easier to learn and so what if a few bugs are in it still, very few programs are bug free these days.

Why spend months or years learning programming languages when you can create your own programs with RealBasic within hours!

Try the demo version and see if it works for your needs, what can you lose.

Safari 3.1 so far seems to be far faster and more stable with 10.5.2.

Unfortunately Java 1.5 is still screwy, sounds from Pogo are distorted, but if I change the Java Preferences to use 1.4.2, sounds work fine. Oh well, Java issue not Safari. since FireFox suffers from the same distorted sounds too with the same version of Java.

Lacks one feature that Azureus offers me.

Lazy Bitfield

I'm stuck with a bad ISP (Rogers Cable) that won't allow me to seed without that option. And for now Azureus is the only one that offers it.

But I still like Transmission too, best there is for new users or old. And it just keeps getting better with each revision!

BLAH BLAH BLAH, Apple says, MaxFixit says, ya right!

Every time an update to iDefrag is announced someone has to jump on the same old dead horse.

You do need to defragment your HD once in a while. Regardless of what any one ignorant has said.

OSX only defrags small files and only optimizes the "Metadata zone".

If your like me with huge audio and video files, then you will need to use iDefrag, or if you would like to shave a few seconds (or microseconds) from your Mac's boot up or application launches.

Anyways, by far the best of the lot for defragmenting your drives.

Get it , got it, good!

I agree with Castle Rose, quit your whining kiddies!

You made the choice to go into the advance options, no one forced you to!

Azureus has the most options of 'em all and if you do get into the advance options and tweak things to your needs, it slaughters the competition in speeds, encryption (to avoid bandwidth shaping from bad ISP's), and much more.

Transmission & Xtorrent don't even come close to the power of Azureus nor are as stable. I didn't mention the rest like Acquisition, LimeWire, Tomato, and all the torrent clients for two reasons. They are either dead (no support/development in years) or just a waste of time.

Transmission is like a bicycle with training wheels and Azureus is like a Viper / Porsche / Ferrari / (whatever, pick a fast car).

Played it for 3 balls and tossed the game into the trash.

Even for free it's not worth playing in its current state.

Found this game too boring, too simple and too basic.

This game might be interesting in the future if the game had better sights and sounds.

For now this game might appeal to a very young crowd, between 3-9 years old, but if it was spiced up, who knows.

So if your like Christopher Price and wish to be bombarded with garbage while you surf, then you don't need this it all!

If you wish to be insulted once you paid the fee and be treated like a leper, then by all means waste your money!

Inflate DW's ego and pocket book at your own peril, you've been warned.

y previous rant which included a lengthy error from Mail 3.1 after doing the "stand alone" update 10.5.1 has been fixed.

- I exported my Mailboxes with 3.0 and deleted both mailboxes I use, then did the 10.5.1 update, and imported back all my mailboxes to Mail 3.1. This time it opened properly and quits properly.

But the following bugs are still persistent, even on a fresh 10.5 on another Mac that had it's drive erased before the install.

- Customized Finder views are still not working properly. The views still keep changing constantly regardless of how I want folder to look (list or column or icons).

- Disk Utility stalls at 20% with 1 minute left, takes about 2 and starts again with 3 minutes left, and always gives an error (Warning: SUID file "System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/ARDAgent" has been modified and will not be repaired.)

Now also docemted in Apple's forum as just an ignorable error.

- And Folder icons in the dock are really messed up, even killing the com.apple.dock.db file doesn't help. Custom folder icons usually appear as two icons overlapped, and some standard folders only show the first Applications icon instead.

17" iMac Dual Core (Early gen.) with 1 GB Ram and installed 10.5 via "Archive & Install" with user pref's and network settings preserved.

I did the 10.5.1 today, and this will be my first complaint regarding any Apple OSX updates.

- Did not fix custom icon issue for folders icons in the dock

- Custom folder views are still retarded. I have certain folders set to my likings for the way I view them, but depending on which method I open the alias to those folders will depend on the way it's displayed. From my desktop, no problem, from my HD another view instead, and from the dock another completely different view yet again. And I do have the "Always view ..." option set too!

- Apple Disk Utility does NOT properly fix my OSX permissions. Starts off by getting stalled at 20%, says 1 minute left, veentually starts again and says 3 minutes to, and always says "Warning: SUID file "System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/ARDAgent" has been modified and will not be repaired."

- Mail 3.1 opens, but I don't get the normal window with my inbox and all the other folders I normally do. But if I launch 3.0 from another partition, I am able to see everything just fine again.

- Mail 3.1 will not quit properly, I have to use FORCE QUIT via Activity Monitor to kill it manually.

Error message in Console's log says

15/11/07 6:13:20 PM Mail[1303] Unknown class ASExtendedOutlineView in Interface Builder file.

First off, no SOFTWARE will ever help when there is a serious HARDWARE failure as clearly stated in this case, clunking noises!

From the sounds of it either one of the platters or read/write heads was gone for good.

Whether the drive was able to mount is irrelevant, your only choice for data recovery is/was a clean room where they can physically remove the platters to recover what's still intact! Very expensive too!

It's too bad you wasted your money on a lost cause but don't blame the software for your mistakes. Lesson learned, next time keep current backups and when something goes wrong you can easily try anything you wish to test the hardware and integrity of the drive.

With the cost of drives these days and my own experiences of dying and dead HD's in the past it's cheap enough to have a seond drive MIRROR your primary drive!

Not to mention DVD's and burners are also another cheap alternative to saving your data.

Personally I'd say keep the software for future issues where it might come in handy, or auction it off on ebay!

bongox: You hit the nail on the head. Switch back Zews, and enjoy the virus' and popups!

Zews: First off, as usual, like most end users, you fail to mention what your setup , OSX? HD? And did you even both to verify if your primary boot drive is working 100% by using Apple's Disk Utility to repair permissions and verify the drive's integrity????

And what's the bloody partition type on the external?

So many factors at work here it's pathetic! You whine about a lack of help but fail to even try to help yourself by being unavailble and give vague details.

As per usual, un-installed old version and installed updated version, went smooth.

And I like the new options!

So far no other tool has the same power and flexibility. Not to mention for those times you need something other than a sparse image, it's very good at compressing disk images too. Smaller images than Toast or Apple's Disk Utility using zlib compression.

Works flawlessly on my iMac (MacIntel) running OSX 10.4.10(11).

DropDMG is well worth it's weight in gold Michael Tsai !

Great work !

Still working flawlessly on a MacIntel OSX 10.4.10(11)

What can I say, I already liked it, now it's even better with options and key commands.

And if your into it Matteo Manferdini (Pawn Software), I have 2 suggestions.

1) Colour control, pick a colour or randomize it or leave it to cycle as is now.

2) Shape control, pick a standard shape (star , circle, square, cross , triangle or whatever)

Great work, Matteo Manferdini , keep it up!

Very cool effects.

The kids will get a kick out this when I start it up for them.

Great work.

Lies.

I've used it one 3 private trackers since beta stage and none have banned me yet!

You must be a troll or just dim.

Either way makes no difference.

I gave each program 30 minutes to reach max. speed multiple times throughout a single day.

Same amount of seeds each time.

Private tracker.

And that was only 1 sample, any test I've thrown at it, it has 99.99% of the time slaughtered Transmissions speeds.

'nuf said, I'm bored of this retarded tit-for-tat lame crap. Don't like my tests, don't care.

And you didn't bother to read my test file stats either.

It was the same file, meaning the seeds were the same too!

Blah blah blah

1) If your unhappy with the program fine, so be it, others are not.

2) If your unhappy about service or treatment from the developer, fine so be it, air your grievance.

But enough with the BS & lies.

Using a free source code for a custom desgned GUI is NOT stolen code. Bill Gates stole the Macintosh GUI to create Windows, Bill Gates stole code to create MS-DOS from IBM, but in both cases the judge was too naive & ignorant to recogize it as plaguerism. Big difference kiddies!

I use this program daily without any problems, I don't care about the developer or his bad habits and I have yet to find a single tracker that has banned me over Xtorrent , including 3 private ones I use often!

For me it slaughters Transmission's speed, Azerues sucks in my books, LimeWire is just starting to utilize bittorrent and isn't finished yet, and the rest are just lame ducks.

This ain't kiddy corner, I will decide how I spend my money NOT you!

17" iMac Dual Core running OSX 10.4.10.

Works perfectly for me.

Won't rate it, since I didn't care much about this screen saver. Found it boring.

But to each his own, it works fine and someone else with a MacIntel might enjoy it.

Would have helped if you actually mentioned your operating system and/or Mac model.

Works perfectly on my MacIntel running Tiger OSX.

17" iMac Dual Core running OSX 10.4.10.

This is now the second FREE animated cursor application. And the only FREE one that doesn't lag behind my cursor!

I also like that it's dockless with all the options available via the menubar.

And who cares if there's better looking ones, they ain't free!

Great work!

Love it, works fine on a 17" iMac Dual Core running OSX 10.4.10.

As the description says "useless" but great eye candy when the kids come over.

Great work

For the lazy ones too imature to look past their noses.

Reactive 1.4.1.dmg = 22,442,132 bytes

Reactive 1.4.1.zip = 22,393,933 bytes

Reactive 1.4.1.sit = 21,365,871 bytes

And that's why it used to be .SIT file until some whiners opened their clueless mouths.

Obviously a smaller compressed archive for faster downloading!

Other than that, I couldn't care less about this game. Not my idea of fun.

Doesn't do diddly-squat for me.

Drag a file or folder on it's icon and it always says "Task completed" , even double-clicking the icon for it.

No location prompt, no tracker details, nothing but "Task completed"

Kind of strange for the tool to say it's completed when it hasn't done a thing.

MacIntel running 10.4.9 and all the latest Apple updates.

Great idea but useless at the moment, so no rating yet.

Running on a MacIntel with OSX 10.4.9 and all the latest updates without any major problems

Seems a bit faster and for my day-to-day browsing, works without any hassles.

Pogo, VersionTracker, MacUpdate, Apple, Macfixit and the rest of my favourite sites all opened just fine.

No plug-in issues since I don't waste my time with 'em.

I also backed up my bookmarks and a copy of Safari 2.x just in case, but it looks like I'll be keeping the beta version for now.

Once the initial flaw with the demo key's was fixed, I was able to finally check things out.

Un-installed the old 2 version and installed the new 3 version.

WOW

I now have Direct-3D and Direct-X support. Cool!

And it's faster, smoother and has a far better coherance toggle.

Keep up the great work!

Love it it or hate it. Your choice.

I love it.

As for comparing this tool to Transmission or even the nightly builds of Transmission. You gotta be joking!

XTorrent blows away Transmissions speed by a long shot for downloading.

XTorrent sample 4.3 GB file, 2 days

Transmission sample 4.3 GN file (same as above file) would have taken me 2 weeks or more.

My only 2 complaints about this software is ;

1) The developer has gotta improve his customer relations & support. I see some small changes towards that goal already. Good job!

2) Lower the price. Not very many people will pay money since there are plenty of FREE alternatives and most users are looking to download FREE stuff in the first place.

Hmmm?

Very interesting game. Game play is unique and quite good.

But there is one minor flaw. Even when the slider for the music is all the way to the left it's still audible.

Please add an OFF switch/button for the music.. The music is extremely annoying after 1 minute.

Otherwise keep up the great work at DayTerium !

Perfect menu-bar item for me!

Works flawlessy with 10.4.9 MacIntel.

And it retains my Finder settings unlike the Apple Dock, which randomly loses my Finder window settings for volumes.

Well like the others. Was interested in checking it out for the nephew but no chance of even a stable start!

- Crashes after name selection when launched from disk image.

- When launched from HD, asks for name then crashes before you can continue but sometimes if you hit the name entry fast enough it launches but then crashes randomly after that.

Memory leak, incompatible with Quicktime 7.1.6, who cares, not worth the effort.
