ROUSTEM KARIMOV The problem you described might be related to OS X Keychain. Please see this link for troubleshooting information: http://help.agile.ws/1Password/os_x_slow_freezing.html If you are a long-time 1Password user and still using the Mac OS X Keychain, consider switching to Agile Keychain format that does not have this problem: 1Password > Preferences > Keychain > Switch to Agile Keychain. ROUSTEM KARIMOV As a developer, I wish we could keep BETA builds away from MacUpdate. The BETA versions are only for testers and they usually have bugs and unresolved issues. Please note that we do not post updates here. We asked MacUpdate to not publish our BETA releases here but unfortunately we didn't come to the agreement. http://twitter.com/roustem (Version 2.9.8)

We are still working on this feature. You will need two updates in order to fully support UPEK fingerprint scanner in 1Password: a new build of 1Password application and an update of the Protector Suite software from UPEK. The current version of 1Password already has certain support for the fingerprint scanner (it still needs work) but it won't be activated until there is a software update from UPEK. http://twitter.com/roustem (Version 2.9.8b2)

ROUSTEM KARIMOV Thank you for the kind words, FOLLEREC! The export to HTML is currently using Blowfish encryption and we consider it secure. You won't be able access the encrypted information without knowing the master password. Still, it is important to use a long master password/passphrase to be protected against the brute force attacks. Please note that not all information in the HTML file (and in 1Password database) is encrypted. Similar to OS X Keychain, some of the information is stored in plain text. This include the name of each entry and the web domain of the login. All usernames, passwords, and notes are encrypted. (Version 2.9.8b1)

The 1Password UI is going through a major redesign along with the wallet. We used to focus on the browser integration and never thought about competing with products like eWallet. Now that our users push us towards better wallet features we will make it shine. The Palm application was designed to give quick, read-only access to 1Password data. I do not feel that there as many Palm users these days and we are not getting much feedback or future requests. I personally stopped using Treo about 2 years ago. Compared to Palm, the demand for iPhone application was overwhelming (I'd say 1000:1) and 1Password for iPhone application receives all the love and attention these days. ROUSTEM KARIMOV I just wanted to add that if you decide to use the Firefox password manager, make sure you set the master password for it as by default it stores your passwords unprotected. (Version 2.9.8b1)

ROUSTEM KARIMOV Thank you taking the time to leave a review, FOLLEREC! I am happy to know that you like the cross-browser integration with one-click login. I also recommend to look at "Bookmarks" menu in 1Password browser toolbar menu. It will save you even more time by combining multiple actions: Navigate to the web site + Fill username/password + Click submit. Another feature you may like is filling credit card information when shopping online. With one-click you can automatically fill credit card number, cardholder's name, and expiration date. This will save quite a few trips to retrieve the credit card from the wallet and then type the 16-digit number without spaces. I am sure you will love the the strong password generator that automatically saves all generated passwords so that you do not have to spend any time to save them somewhere else. And there are many other features that you will find useful. Also, do not forget the option to automatically sync all your Macs and sync data with the native iPhone application. Now let me address your concerns: 1. Cross-platform support. Our focus is on Mac and iPhone and I would rather spend our time on making Mac and iPhone applications the absolutely best they can be. We will provide limited cross-platform support in one of the next releases but it won't be close to what you see on Mac. 2. Custom Wallet items. This is a work in progress and I am sure you will be very impressed when you see it done. There are a few blog posts from 1Password enthusiasts that show how to add custom items yourself but it requires work from you and I cannot recommend that. If you have any other questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact us via email (support@agilewebsolutions.com) or join our forum: http://support.agilewebsolutions.com/ Co-author of 1Password (Version 2.9.8b1)

ROUSTEM KARIMOV Thank you for the feedback! 1Password originally started as an application that helps you manage hundreds of online accounts, generate strong and unique password for every website and login effortlessly. The wallet feature was added later in response to user requests. It gets the job done but it can be better. We are using the feedback like yours to redesign this feature and I am sure you will be impressed when you see it completed. Co-author of 1Password (Version 2.9.8b1)

ROUSTEM KARIMOV I also wanted to add that you can always choose what information to keep in 1Password. I personally feel safe storing all my bank accounts and credit cards in it. Someone else may keep all information except the access to his/her financial accounts. In any case the convenience and the level of security is much higher with 1Password. (Version 2.8.3b11)

ROUSTEM KARIMOV Roy Van Der Woning already provided a great response to your question. I just wanted to add that when you need to remember only one master password it is much easier to make it very secure. Using a 15-20 character long pass-phrase for your master password will make it unfeasible for the brute force attacks. Co-author of 1Password (Version 2.8.3b9)

ROUSTEM KARIMOV Dropbox is amazing. It is very fast and I was using it for over a month without a single issue. Shared folders is a very useful feature that can be used to share files with people you selected. ROUSTEM KARIMOV @ Daniele Cusi: If several is not good enough, how about MANY FREE upgrades?
Seriously though, we have provided 55 (fifty five!) free upgrades for the past 18 months. 55!
In terms of lifetime free upgrades, I have seen many great products killed by this promise. In fact, my first shareware program TreoAlarm died this way -- there simply was no way I could hire people to help continue its development. I also think Apple's own upgrade policy says a lot.
Our plan is to continue releasing free upgrades until version 3.0 -- many great features will be added and bugs will be fixed.
Version 3.0 most probably will be a paid upgrade with great discounts for all existing customers. (Version 2.4.13)

DEVONthink Pro Office | Aug 23 2007 |
ROUSTEM KARIMOV I used DEVONThink Pro for over a year and found it to be a great tool to organize my documents and research I do every day. After the DEVONThink Pro Office was released I purchased Fujitsu ScanSnap scanner. Together they make a fantastic combination -- with a push of a button I can quickly scan a multi-page document and DEVONThink Pro Office will perform OCR (optical character recognition) to create a searchable PDF document and then store it in the database. In just a few days I got rid of more than 80% of the paper in my office and I can find any document in a matter of seconds! (Version 1.3.2)

Audiobook Builder | Dec 21 2006 |
ROUSTEM KARIMOV I bought it today and created a couple of audiobooks in just a few minutes. It is a great, easy-to-use utility. The documentation is not required. I tried to use a couple of freeware tools before, including Join Together. They work ok but they are a bit cumbersome to use and do not save me as much time as Audiobook Builder does. In my opinion, Audiobook Builder is a great time-saver and it deserves 5 stars. (Version 1.0.4)
