RICCARDO ETTORE  the version reported in the Finder get info is 4.1.2 (my mistake) but the download is of version 4.1.3, as reported in the dmg image and inside the sys pref and background app. I don't know what you mean by "results in a hang".

I checked out Butler after reading your post and I must say it looks very impressive and does lots of things that are out of TypeIt4Me's scope.

HOWEVER, although it DOES type text, it seems to be based on a different principle and requires choosing a hot key per abbreviation (unless I am missing the point). TypeIt4Me allows you to type meaningful abbreviations to be replaced on the fly.

Finally, the author does ask for $18, so it's now quite as "free" as you make it out to be... :-)

I'm sorry if I didn't make it clearer in my documentation, but TypeIt4Me is activated from the Input Menu (where you can select various keyboard layouts, e.g. Dvorak, etc.).

I checked out TextExtras and NO it does NOT (by far!) do what TypeIt4Me does - period.

You obviously never bothered to even try TypeIt4Me or you wouldn't make such a ridiculous claim.
