REMY  Try moving the VLC application into the Application folder and reboot

REMY  I’m not sure if I did the right thing but I copied Flash Player Enabler.plugin, which disappears after running the 9.0.28 upgrade, from my other Mac into /Library/Internet Plug-ins and the Flash Player returned to normal. Hope this helps.
