REDNIRT  The first time I ran it from the Desktop and it failed. So I restored the Touch. Then I found some instructions, followed that and all was fine. I have dotMac Mail working, the Diary is editable and Contacts fixed - this gives me what I think Apple should provide, oh, and I forgot iJailbreak adds an installer/deinstaller for third party apps.

Phenominal......

PETER TRINDER  I tried to install the suite on my PowerBook 17 with 10.4.1 and none of the volumes would accept the installer.

Anyone any thoughts?

TTPEDERSEN  The previous versions required that Xcode (the Developer Tools) was installed. I guess the same goes for this version, although the read-me doesn't say so.

MICHAEL SALMON  If you examine the installer log you may see that there is a problem with running VolumeCheck i.e.

FontTools.pkg/Contents/Resources/VolumeCheck

The problem I had is that this file is not executable, if you set the x permision (I used chmod) the you should be able to install the package.

SMALLDUCK  Followup to the Tip by Michael Salmon, the permissions of two scripts in the Resources folder prevent the installer from working. There will surely be an update from Apple quickly, but until then you can fix the installer by doing the following in Terminal:

cd ~/Desktop/FontTools.pkg # or wherever you d/l'd it to

chmod a+x Contents/Resources/VolumeCheck

chmod a+x Contents/Resources/postflight

ANONYMOUS  It might be fixed in the installer package already, as I didn't have this problem.
