PROGRAMHAPPY Awesome! Thank you. The only problem still remaining with that new feature is that some email addresses are encased by quotation marks, which prevents those addresses from alphabetically sorting properly. I was just about to buy but did not proceed because I could not figure out how to open multiple incoming emails at once. I also could not find a way to remove columns that I do not need. PROGRAMHAPPY Developer, I have a HUGE feature request that I think will be quite helpful to many users. There is (was) an add-on called "Twicetab" (see "Twicetab 1.3.1.1" here at macupdate), but it doesn't work on Safari 4. One of the optional features of TwiceTab that I desperately miss is the ability to make a URL (or domain name) in my clipboard open in a new tab. For instance, if I copy the text "http://www.google.com" or "google.com" and then double-click on an empty space in the Bookmarks Bar, it will open the Google home page in that new tab. However, if there is no URL or domain name at the top of my clipboard, the double-click action in the Bookmarks Bar will perform the user's default preference (home page, blank window, etc.) for a new tab. Whadaya say, guys? Hook us up! Thanks in advance! (Version 4.0SL170)

ForeverSave | Sep 16 2009 |
in opposition to Time Machine, ForeverSave is a document-based backup tool, let me explain that in detail: Autosave: ForeverSave makes sure all of your documents are in sync with the hard disk so open documents are always safe. This feature prevents all kinds of crashes and unintentional closing of documents without saving. Backup: After doing an autosave, ForeverSave creates a backup and archives it as a version of the document in its database. Restore: This is I'd say the most interesting part of ForeverSave's work. Whenever you've got a crash, power outage, unintentional overwriting or non-saving you'll want to bring the backup panel to the front. This is done by a self-defined hotkey. The backup panel comes to the front without leaving Pages and displays all of its saved backups of the application. Quick Look let's you browse amazingly fast through all of your versions. It won't take a long time to find the lost document. Now drag the file to the Desktop or use the 'Replace' feature which puts the document to the original place to restore the document. It's dead easy! Tool Force Software. (Version 1.0)

BRIAN BERGSTRAND This is a bug in the 10.6/10.6.1 Finder. It displays the desktop icon window at the desktop level instead of at the desktop icon level (as all previous OS X versions did). This results in a conflict between CD and the desktop icon window. The simple workaround is just to click on the "blank" desktop, this will bring the Finder's icon window to the front. A more permanent workaround involves Terminal. Quit CD and then run the following: defaults write org.bergstrand.changedekstop SDLevel -bool true This forces CD's window to run below the Desktop level. However it does not work correctly with multiple monitors. I filed a bug with Apple over a month ago, but I don't know if/when it will be fixed. (Version 3.0.6)

And no, my SPAM filter is not involved. I have a custom email server that purposely has no SPAM filter. Plus, all email sent to that email address gets cc'd to both a Gmail account and a Hotmail account. BILLY RAY VALENTINE It sure is. :) The first couple hundred downloads were affected, until one of the users reported it. Those who have this issue should re-download MM, the problem should be solved.

PROGRAMHAPPY Since installing update 1.4.3b3, I've been having a problem with tabs. When I try to click away only one of the tabs, it makes ALL of them disappear! Anyone else have this problem? (Version 1.4.3b3)

Compost | May 25 2006 |
PROGRAMHAPPY I just bought Compost and registered it on my computer (Dual 2.3 GHz PowerPC G5 running 10.4.6). The functionality is fine. However, an incredibly intrusive, unmovable message (that steals desktop space) appears in the upper right-hand corner of my screen that reads, "A newer version of Compost is available." BUT GUESS WHAT? I have the latest version already! Auto-update and Greg Weston's Web site both state that I have the latest version. Someone better fix this, and FAST! (Version 1.8.2)

PROGRAMHAPPY SOS! Please add the option to sort all messages in the inbox by EMAIL ADDRESS, not just by "sender." Why is this not a standard sorting option? I run a business, and deal with hundreds of different customers every day. I need to sort by email address! I'm sure that countless other businesses would LOVE this sorting option. Thank you! BRUCE_Y Sorting options is a Great suggestion. (It's the kind of feature that I'd want if I ever transfer off my current email.) For best results with suggestions, email directly to the developer. In this case, Mozilla Thunderbird uses a web bulletin board forum at: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=39 (Version 1.5.0.2)

Transmit | Apr 12 2006 |
PROGRAMHAPPY Transmit 3.5.2 is a complete mess on OS X 10.4.6. It inserts all these random folders that don't even exist in my hosting account. WTF? Also, none of my existing folders will open. When I try to open my legit folders, I get error messages like "Can't change directory to ?????: No such file or directory" and "Error -139: bad parameter given to library." When I switch back to Transmit 3.5.1, it works fine. Please don't release unstable software that could potentially cause someone to accidentally wipe an entire Web site. (Version 3.5.2)

SMTIPS 10.4.6 came out one week ago and you're blaming all the problems on Transmit? have you looked at macintouch and seen the SCADS of networking problems people are having with 10.4.6?? I don't think these guys build unstable software. Most of their apps always receive top reviews. Probly a combination of 10.4.6 and the update is the fault. Apple is VERY famous for breaking 3rd party apps with their updates, you know that. I like Transmit. It's a great FTP app. The reason I don't use it is because it doesn't support http/website downloading like Interarchy does. (Version 3.5.3)

QuickMail Client | Apr 2 2006 |
PROGRAMHAPPY Why are there no third party applications available to enhance QuickMail client 3.5.3? It's crazy. Every other email app for Mac has all sorts of third party add-ons. Have the people at Outsrping gone out of their way to make it impossible for outside programmers to create third-party alterations for QuickMail? If so, that's just plain sad. Also, is it too much to ask to have an opiton to sort messages strictly by EMAIL ADDRESS? (Version 3.5.3)

PROGRAMHAPPY Can you guys PLEASE add the ability to FILTER the list of apps, in accordance with the different categories on your site? I have no need for Dashboard, Drivers, or Games. They clutter the list of apps and waste my time. I'm sure everyone else wnats the ability to filter as much as I do. Thank you. (Version 2.1.2)

JOEL MUELLER Requests for additional features will not be followed through unless many people request the same feature. It is not out intention to bloat the software. We take the 37signals.com approach to software. Lean and mean. (Version 2.1.2)

PSEUDOPROMETHEUS I think ProgramHappy's idea is a pretty good one ... after all, having filtered results would help to give the app a generally slimmer and more cleaner-looking appearance. Simplicity after all, is frequently one of Mac software's known advantages. Plus, just because there's a widget that does the same thing, it doesn't mean nobody's interested in a menu app like this one. (Version 2.1.2)
