PLASTERPYRUS Great piece of application, a definite recommendation to anyone that needs an excellent sound editor with out having to pay a lot. The developers are great unlike others they have a very generous license policy and aren't asking for an upgrade price every year, and have been developing Mac applications for quite a long time and the interface is very intuitive, the way a mac application should be, cu-does. PLASTERPYRUS Horrible, horrible, horrible, I think this guy is just out to make money anyway he can! I bought this last year and had a heck of a time registring this application then, when I bought this it was for leopard even though he update it for Tiger also so it shouldn't matter which version I was using, Well, it still is a mess to register and it's impossible to download a working version of the application. The way he has this set up everytime I try to get the version for Tiger his site gives me a error message that says try the registration window. Well that does not work either and I've tried to contact him about the problem but three times I've written without a response. So even though I've bought a license I am going to have to de-install the application because I can't get support of any kind. (Version 12.0b4)

ROBOTANK It sounds like your problem is due to the Saft licensing scheme which requires a different licence for every different version of OS X. So, if you bought a a Leopard licence, it won't let you have the Tiger version. Yep, it's pretty ridiculous. Do yourself a favour and switch to Glims. (Version 12.0b4)

PLASTERPYRUS Thanks to the developer for constantly improving ChocoFlop, specially for continuing support for PPC, which some of us continue to use. PLASTERPYRUS Don't you get a feeling that some developers out there think that their applications are something really great that they have created, very special in fact so special that they can't understand how the world has gotten along without it all this time. I think if I was a small developer I would sure want my client base to feel that their business is important to me and it is appreciated. I sure would not alienate them by trying to squeeze more money out of them, specially in these hard economic times. Just a thought! Anyway its theirs to do and market as they see fit. PLASTERPYRUS ROD76 I guess the developer heard you, it just took about a year! Given that this application was featured in a very recent bundle of applications sold to the public, now let's see if there is any continuity in different version, with different names, for upgrading. Is it free upgrade or a pay for upgrading? (Version 1.0.3)

AMBROSIASW WireTap Anywhere is not a replacement or upgrade from WireTap Studio. What you are looking at is a new product added to the WireTap Family. WireTap Studio is it's own self contained application for capturing the best quality audio, offer filters, editing, saving and transferring. While there are a great many similarities between the software, WireTap Anywhere is to be thought of as not a recording application but an audio bridge between the software that the users are currently familiar with and their equipment and other applications on the Mac itself. I hope this clears up any confusion, and as always you can check the Ambrosia website for more answers to your frequently asked questions. (Version 1.0.4)

PLASTERPYRUS Painter use to be a very affordable application, the upgrade price was very reasonable. Now, Corel seems to be competing with Adobe in becoming the company that turns out the most unaffordable applications with these last upgrades. ArtMatic | Feb 18 2009 |
PLASTERPYRUS Let me start of by saying that ArtMatic is really great little application, it's creative, fun, artistic and it can even give to the nerdiness in all of us. The other thing is thats expensive and after all it is only a fractal application, a very good one though but still a fractal application. It has a very steep learning curve though and in the past the documentation it has had, has been quite limiting, making it very challenging. In the past years there has been established a users group that has a very creative people in it, and sometimes you get access to some tutorials from there. The only problem there is that it is based on getting a bunch of emails that for the majority aren't that interesting and also the discussions cover the companies other applications as well so you do get inundated with emails. I myself would feel it would be a big improvement if they went to the web based forum instead. I also wish they would make upgrades to their application a bit more often to fix issues that arise or just to make minor improvements. Rather than coming out with an upgrade every year and a half and charging an upgrade fee for it. It use to be that that is how they started out doing it in their early years, which now they seem to be asking for upgrade fee from 4.1 to 4.6 with no other versions in between. (Version 4.6)

PLASTERPYRUS Even 38.00 dollars is to much for this application. There are so many applications of this kind out there that so many of us that already have something similar in our toolbox are not going to pay this much for another one of these! I think developers need to know that many of us out here would like to keep supporting them through these hard times, but if they don't realize things are tough and lower their prices, then it will become tougher to support them. PLASTERPYRUS I agree with other reviewers! The best thing about using a Mac is that you can use them for a long time, they just keep on ticking. As a long time user of Macs I don't go out and buy a new as long as the one I am still using my 2003 G4 Tower, and I know Im not the only one. TurboCAD Mac Pro | Jul 23 2008 |
PLASTERPYRUS I bought this application about 3 weeks ago and being this is my first 3D CAD application that I've bought, so far I must say its been a good experience, Now I know this is no Auto CAD but for someone like myself thats new to 3D CAD, its been perfect. My one objection is to the GUI of the application, it has absolutely not a bit of appeal its very archaic and a bit clunky. The developer could have put a little more effort into it. As far as the application goes it is a great value. So far its been fairly easy to learn by oneself and the one drawback to this is that the tutorials are for the first version and so they don't quite go with this version but its not to bad to figure out. I don't think its wise of the developer to ignore these little things that wouldn't be to hard for a developer like IMSI to just take care off, since it takes away from the user's experience when using TurboCAD Mac 3D that otherwise would be a home run, as it turns out its a triple. Does it just exist sitting there without many people buying it except the few that don't know about the character pallet that comes with the OS X, that even has a way to launch it from your menu bar! I would love to be able to have a tear off window for the controls to be able to drag it to my second monitor and have it completely out of the way much more like pallets in graphic applications. PLASTERPYRUS Be fore warned stay away this company has a linty of complaints against them, I will add one more to the list. This company does not know the meaning of customer service. I against my better judgement decided to purchase version 6.5.4 because I've been a long time customer, since it was StickyBrain, which was a great application, I figured at 6.5.4 it had most of the bugs worked out and it still would be developed further and just maybe it would get to be a decent mature product. Well, in less than a month it switched to a just Leopard product, version 7.0. Now beginning again the whole buggy cycle again. Well none the less since I had purchased the last version within the 30 days limit to be upgraded for free to version 7.0. Well I've written three times requesting a license and still have not heard a peep back from them. Disappointed you bet I do expect a response from a developer at least after I've purchased his product and he has the free upgrade thing in his web site. Its a matter of integrity and standing behind his product. Their action or more like none action in this case and others chronicled here and other sites speak for themselves! (Version 7.0.1)

PLASTERPYRUS I bought this a while back when it was 1.2.4 (something like that), I am still using Tiger, well it got to 1.5.1 and it stopped being developed for Tiger. I feel that it should have kept being developed for Tiger since I think it still had some room for improvement. I just keep going back to that Mac commercial that criticized Vista because many applications had to be developed specially for it. Well it seems that Leopard has the same problem, I don't know how many shareware applications stopped being developed for Tiger since Leopard needs it's own development that doesn't seem to work for both. PIERRE BERNARD We too feel that HoudahSpot 1.5.1 has left much room for improvement. So much actually, that HoudahSpot 2 is a complete rewrite. It shares very little with previous versions. It is not that Leopard requires "special development". The thing is that Leopard includes many features which developers previously had to write themselves. For HoudahSpot, this is the query editor ("what..."). The one in HoudahSpot 1.x took 6 months to develop and still is not prefect. The one in HoudahSpot 2.x is provided by Leopard. Not only this means less work and more time to spend on essential feature, I also brings an improved user experience as such editors will now standardize across all Mac applications. Leopard is probably the biggest OS update Apple has ever delivered (or par with Tiger). For this reason, you will see more and more applications which require Leopard. At $129 there is no reason not to upgrade. (Version 2.1)

PLASTERPYRUS I agree with MACD, It's getting rediculous that there are so many shareware developers are feeling justify that they can charge for developing software that eventually they will make money on! Thats like some company in the "real" world offering a service or a product to customers and them saying that they are asking for pay but then turning around and saying that the product they are offering dose not really exist but that they're just practicing for when they are actually going to open their buisness. How long do you think they would be around for and do you think anyone would even ask for their service or product again! BETA testing is one thing but ALPHA developing is quite anothere. There is a lot more improvements to this upgrade to surprise and delight the veteran and newbee Silo user, sculpting tools that has a feel of working with clay, there is a new improved UV tool, paintingtools are much improved and many more improvements that let you know that they've been hard at work at NeverCenter to give us this very affordable advance modeling application thats a joy to work with! You know; you already have three of the applications price at regular license, and two of them are rendered "old version" in the soon to be released version and maybe one is watered down. It comes down to is the developer playing fair and a license is just a license and it does not matter how the license was purchased whether by dscount or not. Or is the developer sees the promo as something thats cheapens his "work" and so he feels that these customers are insignificent and they don't matter. PLASTERPYRUS Every once in a while a developer (Yes he really is a person) comes along and gives us(the public, the many individuas) a gift (as in free) in the form of really cool application thats fun, really intresting, and brings joy to the user and maybe even spark a bit of creativity in the process. So thank you, developer for your time and effort. And I look forward to the fruitation of this program. (Version 0.19.0)

PLASTERPYRUS I also just bought a license for BurnAgain through MacUpdate promo which just happened about a week ago and tried to enter the serial number and nothing, got to be the shortest duration for a license and product to be supported by a developer. So people Beware! If the developer changes I will be the first to write something good. (Version 1.0)

PLASTERPYRUS I agree with everyone this application goes from BAD to WORSE. The worst part about it is the developer does not give a hoot. Well maybe one day they will respond to all the bad reviews and do something about it. (Version 5.6.2)
