PINK PANTHER It was only when MuMenu went dead for a couple of days that I have realized how much I am used to this tiny elegant application. This is then easily transformed into 5 stars on the Pink Panther scale. (Version 2.1.2)

DjVu Browser Plug-in | Jun 22 2008 |
PINK PANTHER It says v.6.1, but it is v.6.0u online. Go directly to the developer site to get v.6.1 if you like. Be aware though, that it still does not work (iMac, OSX 10.5.3), not even with their own examples... The Djvu window is opened empty! (Version 6.1)

Mellel | Feb 18 2008 |
PINK PANTHER It is a pity you cannot comely evaluate Mellel. In fact, Ori Redler should be honoured and furthermore interested to give a fine customer like you a decent chance to fully appreciate Mellel, which is, I believe, the best word processor around. (Version 2.2.7.2)

PINK PANTHER 90 Mb freeware... WOW... Where is the catch? There must be a catch given the fact that the severe accusations below have not been addressed! (Version 6.2.1)

PINK PANTHER Features: Looks nice. Ease of Use: Apparently very easy, if I only had a chance to use it... Unable to establish connection to my incoming mail server. Same problem on three different Macs (OSX 10.4.6) at three different locations (Apple Mail has been checked to work fine). Value: Pay $15 at this stage? You must be kidding... Stability: Freezes often. Once dimmed, no way to force quit. Needs restart. Problems: (i) Stays always on top of all screens. (ii) Way too wide menu icon. My conclusion: I intend to purchase once things get fixed. (Version 2.1)

PINK PANTHER Nothing to do with Apple. A nice idea, but I would encourage the developer to change the misleading name. (Version 1.0)

CREATIVEGUY The name is referring to the Apple key, which is what many Mac users refer to the Command Key as since it has a little Apple on it. (Version 1.1)

PINK PANTHER Seems to be a nice and useful application, not as elegant as (say ) gmail notifier though. But ufortunately, I cannot even try it... when attempting to put in my email serever address, I immediately get the annoying message: "An exception of class NilObjectException was not handled. The application must shut down". The developer has been notified. (Version 1.51)

Tex-Edit Plus X | Apr 13 2006 |
BMEGUY Actually it does have something to do with Tex, which is short for Texas. Of course, it isn't directly related to TeX, but you weren't asking that, were you. [If you're going to be anal about names, make sure that you at least spell them accurately, otherwise your self-righetous rant falls a bit flat.] (Version 4.9.7b10)

Tex-Edit Plus X | Jul 4 2006 |
SMTIPS Well without going into a bunch of research about a simple complaint about a name, I do believe that Tex-Edit Plus has been around on the Mac a LOT longer than those you're talking about, so why don't THEY change the name of their apps? This app is called Tex-Edit Plus and has been around for the Mac for many years, how could that name be confused with Tex or La-Tex, except by you? (Version 4.9.7b18)

Tex-Edit Plus X | Jan 4 2007 |
BOBSTER Indeed, Tex-Edit Plus has been around for years and it's a great program. (Version 4.9.8b1)

Tex-Edit Plus X | Mar 14 2007 |
Calling it 'Text-Edit Plus X' would just cause confusion with Apple's own TextEdit. (Version 4.9.8b1)

HENRIKTEKNIK I have no intentions of adding to any negativism in this comment section, but I think Pink Panther's statement has some substantial value to it, after all. (Albeit, perhaps a tad bit shorthanded in terms of arguments left for wider interpretation.) But, what if you created an application in the early 90s, called Flash FX, or something in the fashion thereabout. Would you keep that name today? Or would you modify the name to circumvent any or most of the misconceptional risks? For valid reasons, I would probably take into consideration, a slight modification of the name (just a smidge), in some way or another, rather than staying stubbornly loyal to its original state. Just in order to maintain its integrity, as to not have it confused with a more recent, largely more reknowned invention, seeing as my software didn't even do the same thing as its namesake counterpart did. I'm not saying this to be "anal" (as a previous speaker put it) about insignificant details, but the matter of the gist is that, the first I thought when seeing Tex-Edit Plus, *was*, in fact, that it would have something to do with said TeX, or LaTeX technology. It's probably less relevant whether this app is older than TeX or not, for the time being; unequivocally, a lot of potential customers will have their eyes tilted there, for a short glimpse of a second - something that a developer might or might not care about, depending on various parameters. If the desired result of keeping a title that is this similar to a larger, more withspoken product, does not equal to the effect that was originally aimed for in Tex-Edit Plus' case, perhaps spending a short moment for re-evaluation wouldn't be a bad choice? Just a humble reflection, as I think this fine looking app definitely deserve a shelf of its own! (Version 4.9.8b1)

High Priority | Jan 25 2006 |
PINK PANTHER What about Tomorrow's Calendar? High Priority is a must. Simple, elegant, and tenable. I would encourage the developer to generalize this beauty to include (say) tomorrow's calendar. At the end of the process, iCal may become (indirectly)something one can enjoy working with... (Version 1.1)

PINK PANTHER Longer List Please! I love this handy MUmenu. Elegant and very useful. I would encourage the developer though to make the list of new applications longer, or even better, to allow the user to control the list length via the preferences. Another suggestion is to color the licenses (e.g. free - blue, shareware - yellow, demo - red). Coloring the text in the opened menu (for such an option, see for example 'high priority') would make Mumenu more attractive/pleasing to the eye. (Version 2.1.2)

PINK PANTHER I like it a lot. Getting bored after a while though, but who cares... Two mini-bugs: 1. It keeps telling me that I have set a new time record. Nothing to do with reality, but very good for my ego... 2. Game gets killed when switching momentarily to something else... (Version 1.3)
