PETERSCHAUFUSS  Awesome program that keeps all your logins and other confidential information safe and still right at your fingertips.

Now also integrates with the iPhone/iPod Touch through a new native app, so you have all data with you wherever you are.

Excellent value and great support and development.

Highly recommended!!!

PETERSCHAUFUSS  Excellent little program - and FREE!

What I like about Yum! os the fact that it's very customizable - most other recipe programs for the Mac are very US-centric, but being from Denmark I use the metric system and also prefer to list the different foods by their Danish name.

In Yum! I was able to import a long list of food names from a recipe site, by editing the Default Food preference file, and I was able to replace the existing Units variations with my own.

The only thing is miss is a weekly planner, but instead I've just created a custom categori called "current week" where I add all the recipies I want to make in the week to come. That makes it easy to print out a complete shopping list

PETERSCHAUFUSS  I'm happy to report that the problem with unnecessary transcoding has been fixed in version 1.2 and later :-)

They've even added custom transcoding settings.

PETERSCHAUFUSS  A very nice program with good features and well integrated with iTunes and iPhoto.

However one main flaw remains through all versions: The program insists on converting perfectly playable .m4a AAC files into .mp4 AAC files (essentially the same) on my N95.

This uses both time and HD space and is completely unnecessary. It looks like the latest n95 profile file lists .m4a as files as OK (a hack you could add yourself before) but it still converts them ???

Also the file browser is a bit confusing as it displays all files in the current folder as well as in all subfolders when you select one, not very Mac like or usefull.

If these two things are fixed then 5 stars from me :-)

Parallels Desktop

PETERSCHAUFUSS  What's amazing with this release is how fast I can suspend and resume a virtual machine.

In previous versions it took ages.

Now, when I have no applications running in windows and I quit parallels it suspends the machine in just 5 seconds.

Resuming is equally fast, from clicking the icon in the dock it only takes 7 seconds for windows to be reloaded and ready - MUCH faster than booting each time, and even faster than my wife real PC when using WinXP's hibernate feature.

Very cool.

Coherence is great except when booting or resuming - it shows a large window of the windows desktop that then slides out of view when it's fully loaded - it would be more "coherent" if that window did not appear at all.

But once it's running it works VERY well.

Now if they will just implement 3D graphics support / Direct graphics card support I'll give it all five stars.

PETERSCHAUFUSS  The "New iPod video format" is 640x480 H.264 encoding - like the movies from the iTunes Store.

This program ONLY supports 640x480 in normal MP4 format, NOT H.264!!!!

Apart from the misleading update info the program itself seems to work fine and is very easy to use.

If you can live without H.264 encoding it's OK.

PETERSCHAUFUSS  They had some problem with the upgrade system.

It should work now, but if you got faulty keys you can't retrieve new one, you need to email them (the web site will inform you when you try to get a new key).

Oh, and it's free for registered users.

PETERSCHAUFUSS  FIX: it seems that MacUpdate stripped the tags I was commenting about - they are the standard HTML tags for italic text ([=< and ]=>) I hope this makes sense :-)

DAVIDE RIVOLA  If they show up that means that the player don't support these tags. I'm afraid the only solution will to remove them.

PETERSCHAUFUSS  I would like it to be able to handle tags to fix them for playback in various players in OS X.

Whenever I playback or convert files containing these tags they just show up like they are, instead of making the text between them italic.

I don't know how to correctly tag italic text in these files, but it seems that the do not work.

If you can't make a fix, at least make an option for removing them instead.

DAVIDE RIVOLA  Thank you for the suggestion. This feature is already at the top of my todo list (because I need also this) ;-)

I'm quite busy at the moment (I do this in my spare time). But it will be added.

PETERSCHAUFUSS  UPDATE:

I finally got a reply (after emailing them again) and got my serial to work (i typed it all in, instead of copy/paste).

They informed me that their forums are being changed and should appear again, and that they have an internal build that supports the new iPod resolutions, but that it needs more testing before release.

So, there is still hope :-)

PETERSCHAUFUSS  This program used to work great, and I've had good response from the programmers in the past, but it seems they have more or less stopped their business:

1. Their forums are no longer available (the link is on their web site but goes nowhere)

2. I've emailed them twice to ask if they plan to support the new iPod video resolution (640x480) but have gotten no reply.

3. I recently upgraded to an Intel iMac and my serialnumber no longer works - I've emailed them about this but have not gotten a reply.

Unless they "resurface" I would suggest you spend your money elsewhere or they could be "lost".
