PAUL DORMAN  Not working for me... OS X 10.4.10, MacBook connecting via wireless to a NetGear router at 192.168.1.1. It hangs on "Discovering your router..." even after I manually entered its IP. I don't know if I need to change some setting on the router, or what.

PAUL DORMAN  Looks good so far. Something that I think would be a nice feature is to add gradients to the stroke.

ToolBar Extras

*****

PAUL DORMAN  Very nice. I make new files frequently, and it's annoying having to open the terminal and do "touch". The refresh utility is also useful, as I mount shared folders from a Windows box at work, and they don't always refresh live. I agree with the others that it would be nice to have the icons the same as the default toolbar set, but that's a small issue.

PAUL DORMAN  I downloaded this because at 25K, that would be pretty amazing. I guess just using the built in WebKit stuff. Unfortunately, all I got was a blank window... no location bar or navigation widgets. OS X 10.4.

DIONRODRIGUES  Location bar is at the top of the application. No homepage has been defined in the code yet, thus the blank screen.

Also, http:// MUST be at the beginning of every URL for now.....

PAUL DORMAN  Attractive, and not too heavy on the processor. If you don't know how to make this into your desktop background, look for "Quartz Desktop".

PAUL DORMAN  Well, it wouldn't be too difficult to load the same page many times over using two different browsers, and take the average to see which one is truly faster. I don't know whether the commenters have done that, but it's not really difficult, conceptually or in practice.

PAUL DORMAN  It would be nice to see a few more days' forecast in the widget itself, instead of opening up in a browser window.

PAUL DORMAN  Doesn't work for me, 10.4.10, Intel. I enter a zip code or city, and the first time I click "Done" it animates a flip, but it just flips to the back where it already was. After that, click "Done" or hitting "Enter" does nothing.

PAUL DORMAN  It checked my website, quite thoroughly as far as I could tell, and accurately found a few problems. It doesn't have a lot of features, but it doesn't need them. It's a nice, lightweight tool.

PAUL DORMAN  I'm not much of a UML guy, and this obviously isn't very feature-full, but it seems pretty slick (for an alpha). Creating diagrams is very simple and intuitive. Unfortunately, it doesn't open the saved file successfully, so it's not really useful at this point. But I think it has potential.

PAUL DORMAN  I don't think the previous reviewer quite got the purpose of this little app. Although the name may be somewhat confusing, this is not a "game" type simulator. It has to do with species competition for limited resources, and whether a balance will be reached, or will they oscillate indefinitely. Do a search also for "logistic difference equation" to find out more about chaos and species competition equations.

PAUL DORMAN  As the developer said, this is still in early development, and needs a lot of work. Nevertheless, I think it is already pretty slick, and very promising. Definitely worth keeping your eye on.

No problems with crashing, as far as I know (from playing with the downloadable demo from their website) it still lacks sounds, but it looks good so far.

PAUL DORMAN  I have found the problem... I hard-coded some stuff for 1152x864 resolution. If your monitor supports this, you should be fine. Otherwise, I ought to have a new build out in a few days to fix this and some other stuff.

PAUL DORMAN  I'm guessing that it's a missing font issue. It's supposed to say "enter your name" at that screen. You could try entering a name and then hit return, which ought to take you to the next screen.

PAUL DORMAN  Very nice interface; if you like Mail, you will like this.

BUT, it doesn't handle article threading very well. I had all sorts of posts that should have been in the same thread strewn throughout.

Also, the second time I ran it when I clicked on the group I subscribed to the messages showed up briefly, and then disappeared, I couldn't get them back.

It looks nice, but it still needs some work.

PAUL DORMAN  Very nice, the output looks good. However, having additional templates (or the ability to create one's own) would be nice.

It did crash once, something about a Nil Object error.

PAUL DORMAN  I think when reading we still recognize the letters in the middle of the word, and that's enough. There are a lot of words with the same beginning and ending letter, so if we shortened all words to 2 letters, reading would go a lot slower since we would have to figure out which precise word was meant.

PAUL DORMAN  D2X-XL is pretty solid. I haven't tried running it without the D2 installation, but I was able to run the D1 missions.

D2X-XL is an enhanced version of D2, as opposed to D2X, which is an attempt at duplication. You may like some of the features of D2X-XL, and you may not like others.

PAUL DORMAN  I was just alerted to the fact that I forgot to include the FScript Framework with the binary, so if you downloaded 0.6.5 and it crashed on launching, please try 0.6.5b, in which I have included the necessary framework. Thanks!
