POWERSHAKER I just don't understand. I mean, all these problems I hear people having, and I always figure out the reason for my problems. Maybe it's because I'm certified, and I've been doing this for a long time. The story lately? They say OS X Tiger 10.4.11 is the evil update! I installed it flawlessly, because I figured out what was up. Macbook Pro with OS X Tiger 10.4.11 runs like a gem. Number Two? I install the 5584 build for Parallels on my Macbook Pro as an Update. Runs terrific! Had a minor problem, but I just rebooted, and now it runs crystal. OS X TIGER ADVICE: Download the Tiger 10.4.11 COMBO Intel update from Apple's site! Do not use SOFTWARE UPDATE in OS X! Do not run any programs or applications while you're installing the final update! Do not play music in iTunes while you're installing it! Quit all applications before you begin to install the 10.4.11 update! When restart appears, click RESTART! Do not touch anything! It may take a long time to update on restart! It is NOT HUNG! Wait for the login prompt! IT WARM BOOTS TWICE ONCE RESTART IS INITIATED AFTER UPDATE. BE PATIENT! This is surgery! Parallels Build 5584 Advice: On message prompt to download the build, say no to installing the BUILD while in Parallels and running Windblows! The new build is now on your desktop. It downloaded automatically. Quit Parallels! Do not install build - I repeat - on top while running Parallels and Windblows XP or Vista! Quit Parallels and Windblows! Once there, quit all other programs. Double click the 5584 Build for Parallels! Let it install! Once it does, do not load Parallels! WARM BOOT! RESTART YOUR MAC! Let it do its thing! When you get in, you should have a flawlessly running 5584 Build of Parallels for your Intel Macbook Pro. Just thought I'd help. All you guys always having a heart attack and all, but you don't pay attention and be careful when you're installing these critical updates. I would think with OS X Tiger Update - the final one - you'd be more wise. With Parallels, same thing. It's still serious, because it's like a virtual SYSTEM without the hardware. Good day!
