I have no issue whatsoever with Playlists or the 500 limit. I trust the developer's judgement about the practicality.

If someone is so into their collection to have done such good work organizing, I suggest it wouldn't be that much more work (if not a type of "fun" for such a one) to make wifiTunes specific/workable playlists. Indeed, I see that in my future as I am digitizing my almost 2000 CD collection.

wifiTunes is new and freeware. Signal is a bit more refined, but worth $25?

No foolin'! Great job. I wouldn't mind have a bit more information in it: time, rating, etc. But the size and action are wonderful.

I appreciate your comments. But, rethinking, I still think one star for the one trick it does. I just don't see why you put yourself through it. You say Max was somewhat complicated. As complicated as writing all the sript, as going through the, your own word, "hell?" Some developers think the value of learning by going through their hell is how they're paid (exchanges with Max and xACT developers lead me to believe that indeed is their case).

Again: Why not use Apple Lossless?

But why not Apple Lossless?

Sorry. I had missed the go to AIFF part. So, until Max can write those AIFF tags this app does fill a very narrow niche. But why use AIFF in the first place? Why not Apple Lossless?

WHOA! I take back what I said about Synergy. It's eating up 40 MB right now but it has been known to go down to 20. Sheesh.

v1.0.3 is doing better with RAM, but just barely. Before I was seeing 33 or 34 MB real RAM. Now. it's down to 28/29. Not a problem if you have plenty of RAM to begin. TotalTunesControl uses 24 and Synergy 14/15. Still, I love this app!

About the CPU usage: not seen here in this latest 1.0.2 version. However, I do note it uses more real RAM than any of the other iTunes buddy apps, even when sitting idle (iTunes not running). What I would love is for iTunesVolume to be able to control system volume when iTunes wasn't running.

About the app: wonderful! I love the art showing large. It does lyrics, too. Great flexibility in usage and appearance, especially window location. Coupled with a system-wide keyboard assisting app (e.g. SizzlingKeys, GimmeSomeTune, Synergy, etc.) is very nice to have. price is right, too.

Only 4 stars for Features: no auto-start or stop, no track change behavior (e.g. art/info show).

BOBZOZUS, how do you get lyrics displayed using iTunesVolume?

I do not understand the purpose of this app's existence. Mac users have *two* (not just the one Pillage's documents refer to) apps that are more useful, flexible, easier to use (much less setup!). And most importantly, they ARE FREE, their developers denying urgings to take money. These guys want $10 for something less than either of the two longstanding, venerable apps: xACT and Max.
