OSCAR74  Installs fine, but cannot open Preferences or check the Lists at all. Had to uninstall. Using 10.5.2 on an Intel iMac.

OSCAR74  Copies (and deletes) my homemade ringtones to the iPhone, but they do not make any sound. I'm using regular M4A files. :(

OSCAR74  iTunes development is based on AAC and MPEG-4 video, not MP3. Also, please, will all of you learn to write proper English? Thanks.

MACNEWS  One wonders whether this disables all current ringtone support?

Your aside was most likely misplaced, as it's fairly obvious (for the most part) which users are not from the U.S. and Commonwealth countries, and which of those are from those countries and are butchering their native language(!). Anyone who speaks a language other than English would most likely also cringe when a fellow countryman does likewise with his native tongue. The non-native English speakers were likely *not* the target of his comment!

MACNEWS  I'm not saying (with reference to the link you posted) there's no room for change in a language, but there's a huge difference between gradual, accepted change, and a lack of clearly defined rules and standards.

Oscar: If you were responding to the poster just before you; it is kinda' obvious he's not a native speaker of English.

PERSON1229  Actually, that's a very bad way to do it.

1) some people don't have a mighty mouse

2) that adds extra files that a windows computer _will_ see and it doesn't look too professional.

I personally enjoy CocoaZip.

OSCAR74  Unless you are using more than Windows and OS X on an Intel Mac, I don't really see the value of this software. AFAIK, you cannot set a firmware password on an Intel Mac since it uses EFI as opposed to the Open Firmware of previous G-series Macs. Just press the Option key on startup and you will be presented with icons for booting into either OS X or Windows XP, even multiple versions on different partitions/disks if available, using no additional boot-picker software (such as this).

AMCAN12  Quote from Apple:

"Intel-based Macintosh computers can be protected by firmware passwords as well. The firmware in an Intel-based computer uses Extended Firmware Interface (EFI) technology—Open Firmware is used in computers that use PowerPC processors.

All Intel-based Macintosh computers support firmware password protection."

GAZMAN  Although not installed by the Install Disks, Open Firmware Password.app is present on the disks that came with my MacBook. I used Pacifist to install it into my Utilities folder where it works like a charm.

Blender

OSCAR74  Why on Earth are you criticizing Blender just because you don't know what the installer for Yafray (a different, separate piece of software) has placed on your system? If you are so paranoid about what Yafray (not Blender) has installed on your system, and cannot even figure out how to email the Yafray team without removing the "NO SPAM" portion of their addresses, then perhaps you should not have bothered to download Blender.

ESPIRIDION  Because Alsoft's customer service told me to leave it running, and that in some cases it has taken a week to recover a hard drive. Since I was using an older Mac (G4/800) I left it running for an additional 3 days.

ESPIRIDION  Additionally, if you do a search for "speed inhibited by disk malfunction" you'll see that others have encountered similar problems and have left DW running for many days.

In some cases DW is actually able to help. In my case the solution was Data Rescue.

DRM Dumpster

OSCAR74  All this does is simplify the process of taking your protected AAC files from iTunes, burn then to CD, and then re-rip them into MP3 format. If you want AAC files, just burn your songs to CD and re-rip them as AAC.

BURNINGTHUMB  If there is some reason to rip them back as AAC its easy to do. But since the DRM files are already AAC why would you not just play them instead of going to the quality loss of burning and ripping AAC.

DRM Dumpster is not designed to remove DRM, its designed to let you use your DRM songs in MP3 players that don't support AAC, like a lot of car MP3 players.

If you like AAC then what is wrong with using the DRMed AAC ??????

ACK  Rob - one cannot attach a 'wireless' mighty mouse to a usb port - especially when the 'wireless' keyboard doesn't have any ports to plug into.

We are also having the same problem. ANYONE out there able to help? Installing windows on the intelchip mac has been a real nightmare. Any insights would be appreciated.

PVERCELLO  Yeah, I've got the same problem with my bluetooth not working anymore with bootcamp 1.1. My bluetooth devices don't show up anymore, and the device manager no longer shows a bluetooth interface.

I sent a note to apple; hopefully I'll get a reply.
