O5220803 The developer has been responsive and now MailPlane is working as advertised. It turns out that this very well designed and complete. MailPlane makes all the features of GMail readily accessible and easy to use. A really handy application for the heavy GMail user who wants to use this excellent Google service in an true mail-client setting on the desktop. Kudos to MailPlane's authoring team for a developing this a really useful GMail client! An excellent value for the serious GMail user. (Version 2.1b)

CROUPIER49 Version 2.1b is a beta version. The developer's website clearly states the version is beta and notes there may be some bugs since it's still being tested. The site suggests you use the most stable released version (instead of the beta version) if you don't want to be part of testing or experience bugs. I use the most current released version (not this beta version) and have had ZERO problems. It's very handy and well-maintained. Yes, you can use a lot of free apps and browser add-ons to get similar (though not all) features as Mailplane, but they don't look or work as nicely.

ProtectMac AntiVirus | Apr 5 2009 |
O5220803 Well, I'm glad you have confidence that Windows, or other types, of viruses, won't affect the UNIX core of OSX. I hope you are right. However, I think you may be missing the point that i86 processors share a common instruction set, which makes it's easier for a virus hacker to develop viruses for any Intel system. This means hackers can modify and migrate existing viruses, and potential variants, to a UNIX-based Mac/Intel-processor system (clones included), which have the potential and disrupt it. Remember, AV apps, like ProtectMac, provide two key functions: 1. Protecting the Intel Mac against potential threats; 2. Preventing Mac users from passing key viruses and Trojans, and worms to other PC users as attachments! Who knows what the future holds for Mac users! (Version 1.0.5)

O5220803 This version of ProtectMac AntiVirus 1.0.5 is excellent, complete and thorough! It works superbly on my MacIntel Mini! Fast, stable and secure. I Appreciate the fact that they continue to support OSX 10.4.x! I purchased a license and it's well worth the price. Remember, since Apple is using Intel-based processors in their products, Windows-type viruses will become more prevalent on Apple systems in the future; since Apple and PC instruction sets are now very similar! Give ProtectMac AntiVirus a shot during their free trial period; most of you will not be disappointed. (Version 1.0.5)

SRS iWOW Premium | Jan 22 2009 |
O5220803 A surprisingly good enhancement for iTunes! For those "qualified, registered, users" the upgrade price of $9.99, from version 2.x to 3.x of iWOW is reasonable. The simplified interface is easy to use and requires no expertise, other than a good set of ears. The sound quality is clean and vibrant. Works seamlessly with VL and iTunes. It appears that iWOW 3 will "remember" one "Custom" setting at a time; saving multiple user-defined settings is not currently available. Overall, the retail price of $39.99 (Download) and $49.99 (Boxed version) is a bit steep for a new user, however, iWOW is a good product and worthy of a try by those who enjoy quality audio from their Macs. O5220803 Now that it works, it's a superb astronomical application. Perfect for the arm chair and active astronomer alike. Great for previewing the night sky before a telescope session! And you can't beat the price! Kudos to the developer(s)! Thanks to the troubleshooters who helped me get my copy working! (Version 0.8)

FOLLEREC Same problem as parent. Cannot load Stellarium even with the correct frameworks installed properly. Crash log says it cannot find both SDL frameworks even though they exist in /Library/Frameworks (Version 0.8)

Stellarium | Jun 19 2006 |
FOLLEREC Based on forums on Stellarium.org, it seems that the framework SDL_mixer is also required (available at http://www.libsdl.org/projects/SDL_mixer/). This wasn't mentioned in the README file. Install it the same was as the other two SDL frameworks. Hope this helps others. (Version 0.8)

OICRAM I've put all 3 SDL files in the frameworks folder in Library and it still doesn't open. (Version 0.8)

O5220803 Eyep is maturing into a really nice visualizer for iTunes! I find it meets my needs at a fair price. Besides, by supporting its development, it will become very attractive alternative to G-Force, which has become too pricey for my shareware dollars. (Version 2.61)

O5220803 A clean, well-planned, theme for OSX! I really like the selection of colors and contrasts, because my vision isn't as good as it was years ago. Excellent job, thanks. (Version 1.0)

Shiira | Jan 23 2006 |
O5220803 Well, each version of this browser is better than its previous incarnation! Now, it includes AutoFill for passwords and Logon's. Truly, Shiira is becoming a mature (serious) contender in the Mac/Browser arena. I am especially pleased that the author(s) have retained support for OSX 10.3.9. Domo Arigato! (Version 1.2.1)

O5220803 Nice application! The GUI is aesthetically pleasing and provides a comprehensive interface for all of the calendaring functions. Though still in its infancy, this app. has the potential of becoming an excellent contender for other Mac-based calendars! (Version 0.3.4)

O5220803 A top-notch tides tracker. We live near the Jersey Shore and use this app. to accurately track tides at multiple locations. The author is very responsive to suggestions and provides quick-turnaround on bug fixes. An excellent piece of work. (Version 2.5.4.2)

O5220803 This is one powerful file manager. Well thought out and designed. Some quirks, but it appears to be evolving into a very comprehensive application that will give Path Finder, Macintosh Explorer, et al, a real run for the money. It's FREE and works well with OSX 10.3.9! Thanks! (Version 1.0)

SZABESZ PathFinder 4.0 is way ahead of this. So "running for the money" is a bit bold to say. (Version 1.0.1)

HyperSpell | Dec 22 2005 |
O5220803 A really simple & superb solution for all users! The really great thing is that HS uses Apple Word Services to check spelling in Apps, which either have no such capability, or depend on cumbersome extensions to check spelling! (Version 1.3.1)
