N9YTY Anyone wondering about their MacHeist WriteRoom serial number, I asked the author and he gave this very nice reply: to avoid the problem of sending mass emails, and dealing with spam filters, I've instead just loaded everyone's email into my order database. But I didn't send out any emails since doing it all at once just turned out to be to much of a pain. So instead to pick up your license please visit this page and enter your email: http://www.hogbaysoftware.com/store/resend_licenses A license file should be sent out a few minutes later. N9YTY Kudos to Joel on this great project, I'm really sorry for him that it's turned sour. I'm also puzzled why the whole thing got so turned around and hung up on the invite thing, when the real point is the bundle. I also can't understand why the sales are so small, and so slow to trickle in... This is really a wonderful deal even if you use only a few of the bundled apps. I wonder what it would take to get the word out and see the purchase rate take off for the weekend. I did my part via the invites and I know at least two bought it, maybe three but I'm not sure. Let's make this a success for Joel, the developers, and for ourselves! (Version )

N9YTY Hey, folks doing the projects... Realize that the rate is constantly dropping (for the most part), and there was no 'burst' after the first unlock, so your extrapolation and projection needs to factor in a progressing slowdown of the rate over time as well. (Version )

N9YTY Oh boy, it's really picking up speed now. Not likely, I knew this was going to bomb. Intaglio, it was nice to dream of you. :) (Version )

N9YTY You'll never get the unlocked goodies... It's slowed to a crawl and the tide will never turn. :) Ok, maybe Little Snitch, but I doubt we'll see Intaglio unlocked much less TechToolPro. All you optimists out there, prove me wrong and buy like crazy! (Version )

N9YTY Not looking a gift horse in the mouth. Honest, I'm not. However, most of the time when I want to look for the shortcuts, I'm not online and can't pop up the vendor's online docs. :) I suppose it is indeed asking too much to have the database distributed with the widget in maybe SQLite format? Maybe the right hooks aren't even there in the Widget subsystem, at least not without including a callable binary. (Version 1.1)

N9YTY No, it's already maxed out for "Faster", although that is purely a relative term... :) And I'm comparing also to old programs done over dialup using parallel port webcams years ago, although it's fair to say the image quality sucked too. Anyway, still, it's nice to see cross-platform even if performance is what it is. (Version 3.0b1)

N9YTY Surely you people who are gushing about the video/webcam stuff must be getting performance vastly superior to what I see on my MacBook Pro using the built-in iSight. Just a few frames per second, it's pathetic, and that's just the preview window, I wonder how bad actual conversations would be. (Version 3.0b1)

SMPDIGITAL That's because you're used to iChat's performance which eats a lot more bandwidth, but it's a normal behavior in Yahoo and MSN, remember that they have been around since dial-up days. Besides, you can tweak it to be faster in preferences. (Version 3.0b1)

KBALLARD The "preview" window is actually the broadcast window, and it's showing you the speed at which it's sending out frames. Of course, if nobody's viewing, it's not actually sending frames, but it's still capturing them at the same rate, so if anybody views it won't get any slower. However, it could in fact get faster - if you have 1 person viewing and you can establish a P2P connection with them, you go into what's called "super" mode and it sends frames as fast as it can, which bumps the fps quite a bit.
